Mid Level Exception Backfield Rankings 1.The Best QB RB combo maybe in the nation Tajh Boyd and Andre Ellington are going to give Defenses fits all season. Add Mike Bellamy and the very capable Cole Stoudt to the mix and you don't miss a beat if either is off the field. Make sure you tighten up the laces and tape up the ankles cause these guys are gonna break a few. 2. Mizzou is moving to the SEC and most would think they would be in over their heads. Not with this backfield. Lead by QB James Franklin the Tigers will have one of the top QB's in the SEC. They do play the game in the Big 12 he has put up numbers against some quality competition. RB Combo Henry Josey and Kendial Lawrence are quick and will see most of the time on the field but look out for Jared Culver a 5'11" 250 lb bruiser on short yardage situations. 3. Look out for Seth Doege he is a strong armed gunslinger that the Raiders haven't had in Lubbock since Mike Leach was roaming the side lines. Eric Stephens is an every down back who if they do decide to run he might eclipse 1000 Yards. Michael Brewer is the Back up at QB and if called upon he could be a threat. 4. Its the Taylor and Rex show. This option combo is gonna run through many a LB. Leading the way for the talented duo is FB Mike Marrow one of the best in the country. The drop off at QB could be a problem if Martinez goes down from wear and tear. The Cornhuskers have plenty of depth at Tailback. 5. Tim Tebow paging Tim Tebow....Nope its just Collin Klein. Both will be in huddles in Manhattan. Tim of course will be calling plays in New York for the Jets his clone Collin will be taking snaps for the Wild Cats this fall. When Klein hands the ball off it will be to a trio of very good backs in John Hubert, Angelo Pease and FB Branden Wilson. 6. The 2nd best backfield in the ACC? "Who said that? They must not have witnessed a Tarheel game last year. We smoked fools and we are back for more." said SO RB Gio Bernard. He is right teaming up with AJ Blue, Bernard and QB Bryn Renner have scene their share of action and he is just a sophomore. Behind Renner their are questions and that is why Clemson is ranked higher. 7. Silas Redd is one of the best RB's in the country. He is talented enough to hear his name called on the 1st day of the draft. Unfortunatly he is the only one on PSU's roster that could be called at all. SR QB Matt McGloin is the starter but new Coach Matt York has not ruled out starting SO Paul Jones. Either way Redd will get the majority of the work on offense and should be one of the rushing leaders at seasons end. 8. No one stands out as a gamebreaker but they have talent and in the Big East they will make some noise. Best name in the league Munchie Legaux QB of the Bearcats has some mobility and he will be handing the ball off to RBs George Winn and Jameel Poteat. 9. The difference between the top of the SEC heep and the bottom is depth. MSU has some talented starters in QB Tyler Russell and RB Ladarius Perkins but after them you start hoping someone steps up and competes. Lets hope the injury bug doesn't visit Starkesville. 10. Is this the school that produced Kordell Stewart, Rashan Salaam, and Eric Bienimy. Where did all the talent go too? Tony Jones and Nick Hirschman? Heard of them? Me either nuff said. 11. Wow how is Colorado ahead of WSU? Maybe because behind a talented QB tandem of Jeff Tuel and Connor Halliday they have crap carrying the ball. I could be wrong here but with a schedule like the one they have Ricky Galvin and CO are gonna struggle to rush for more than 1000 yards. 12. BJ Daniels runs for a TD. BJ Daniels scrambles in the back field long enough to throw to a wide open receiver in the endzone. BJ Daniels... yeah thats what the fans in Raymond James Stadium hope they are going to see. Behind him you have bupkis. The coaches better hit the recruiting trail and drum up some talent cause when Daniels leaves its gonna get real ugly in Tampa.
