Pre Season look at Penn State

With new coach Murk, expectations are going to be high this season for the Nittany Lions.

They have been picked to finish 5th in the SEC, and start off the regular season with #4 UCLA (OMlawdog) at home. Following that are three user games in a row with another another top 5 out of conference user game against #2 Oregon (bogey).

    Offense - Ole Miss
There was a lot of talk about what type of offense we would run. We want to spread the ball out and have a dual threat quarterback, but we realize our strength is our two all american running backs in Senior William Collins and Junior James Wheeler so we have a good mix of undercenter sets and shotgun.

    QB - Senior Travis Wilson (90 ovr, 84 spd, 67 agi, 86 acc, 75 btk, 87 thp+a)
    > The 6'5" 220lb Wilson will be our guy until he proves otherwise. We are a bit worried about his agility, but think his experience is going to be his strong point.

We also have Freshman Antwaun Watson who is capable of providing a spark, but is obviously more prone to making bad throws/reads. Depending on the situation, if Travis went down, we may go with Watson if we are looking for the big play or with Freshman William Lee if we are looking to defend a lead late in the game.

    Defense - 3-4
Our D line will carry us, and is anchored by Senior DT Joe Johnson. He isn't the biggest at 6'0" 260lbs, but he is rated 97 overall and has awareness and block shedding.

The LB's are solid all around, and average 91 overall. The are made up of three seniors and one sophomore, and we expect big things out of this group.

The DBs are an experienced group also, and we expect to see some big plays out of Senior CB Desmond Reyes who is our "lockdown" corner.
