    TSO Members,

If you will recall from last year, in an effort to give everyone a chance to have access to a Premier League, we had a draft to complete league rosters. It was a lot of fun and generated a ton of excitement around the site, but it did have both positive and negative elements. On the upside, it was fair and made leagues accessible for everyone. On the downside, members weren't always put into situations where they were happy or put into situations where they could be successful. Of course, the downsides to the draft were exacerbated by what many consider to be a tragic series of events regarding NCAA '12. Because we are always trying to improve the experience for you guys, we are going to try to refine the process for NCAA '13.

We still intend on having a draft. That said, we want to give the leagues the opportuntity to form organically. Here is the plan:

    • Starting today, we would like members to declare their interest in being in a Premier League. Like always, the requirement is that you be a Premier Member and remain one.
    • Based on a combination of factors we will choose the Premier League commissioners for NCAA '13. The difference between a Premier League and a non-Premier League is leadership and this reflects that belief.
    • Once we choose the Premier League commissioners, we will ask these commissioners to decide the direction their league will take for NCAA '13. For commissioners with existing leagues, we expect them to make this decision with the interest of the members they intend to carry into NCAA '13 in mind. By this, we mean organization, i.e.:
      • What time zone they represent.
      • How may user games.
      • Number of conferences.
      • Are they using Coaching Carousel.
      • Advance schedule.
    • After the commissioners set league direction there will be a period of time we consider self arrangement. That means members may leave their current leave and join another, commissioners may decide to keep members if that is the mutual desire, or commissioners may decide to remove members. Commissioners are allowed to recruit people that fit into their vision for NCAA '13.
    • When the self arrangement phase is complete, the remaining open spots will be filled via a draft, just like last year. The draft will consist of a reverse snaking draft.
Also, we would like everyone to understand, even if you are not selected to be a Premier League commissioner, we will be evaluating Premier Leagues every three months going forward. Leagues who are not performing will be demoted, leagues who are excellent will be promoted. The intention is that people will be able to organically form leagues (both Premier and non-Premier) that will be successful.
For a league to be promoted to a Premier League, it cannot create a situation where a Premier Member will be in multiple leagues, with the exception of the commissioner.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

For sake of clarity, the policy on Premier Members being in multiple Premier Leagues is as follows:
    • Members may be in multiple Premier Leagues if the leagues are different platforms. This is an effort to try to strengthen the PS3 side of the NCAA leagues.
    • Members may be in multiple Premier Leagues if they are the commissioner of a non-Premier League that is promoted to Premier League. It is desirable for Premier Members to be leaders in the community and in an effort to reward leadership we want to make it possible for members to lead newer members. Keep in mind that leagues containing members already in Premier Leagues will not be promoted, with the exception of the commissioner. Members, please only commit to multiple leagues if you are SURE you can commit to a full release cycle in both leagues. Keep in mind that collectively management feels Madden '13 will be popular, please do not over commit.
The end goal in this process is to put people in the right situation with the right people, being fair to everyone.

    Schedule

    5/13 - 5/20 - Premier League Member Declaration
5/27 - Premier League Commissioner Selection
6/10 - Deadline for Premier League "Vision"
    6/11 - 6/27 - Self Arrangement Period - Commissioners finalize rosters by 6/27
6/28 - Premier League Draft Start
    7/1 - Leagues Finalized
    7/1 - 7/3 - Forum Setup
    7/3 - 7/9 - Period for Team Selection
    7/10 - NCAA '13 Release Date

    Thank you,
    Management

So current premier leagues aren't just going to carry over with their current roster of members? Or is this just for new leagues?

Yeah clarifications would be golden. Is this gonna be a shuffle up and deal thing where we all get thrown together or do we all stay where we are and we draft from the new guys?

How are foundation members going to work? As in, if they are presently in two premier leagues, are they allowed to stay in both should they choose to do so?

I think your questions are answered in the above section. Members of present premier leagues are going to have the option of staying in their present league (should their commish agree to keep them) or move to another league if they are recruited to one. At least, that's what I think is being stated.

That is solely up to the commissioner.

Read the post, there are two exceptions to the 1 league per member rule.

We can choose to stay in our current league right? Or are we going to be thrown into a pool and have commissioners select who they want.

I did read the post - but i also remember that one of the benefits of being a foundation member was that they would be able to participate in multiple premier leagues. As that is not expressly listed, it seems as though this has changed - which is going to put foundation members who joined under the previous rules in a major bind.

Assuming your commish agrees to keep you, you will be allowed to stay in your current league.

Just to end the argument here: The policy last year was one member per league. When Max was added to After Midnight everyone was aware that when NCAA '13 came out it was going to be this way. He has to pick either T1 or AM, and that's up to him.

For you guys with lots of questions about membership, you should read the membership outline on the main page: http://traditionsportsonline.com/membership

There is also the WIKI on the top ribbon bar of the forums under 'Site Information.'

The rule regarding non commish members only being in 1 premier league is by title correct ? Meaning one could be in NCAA premier league and still be in say TMFL when madden 13 drops correct ?

assuming one is that lucky of course ;)

Correct, this is per title. The TMFL will be a Premier League for M13.
