First preseason game for the Packers started out great, but then they had to hang on to win 28-21.

Green Bay took an early lead on a 38 yard TD from Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson after Jim Leonhard slipped in coverage. After a series of punts by both teams, Rodgers managed to hook up with Donald Driver in the corner of the end zone to put Green Bay up 14-0. The touchdown, off play action, was made possible by the great rushing attack the Packers enjoyed as Green Bay rushed for 221 yards on the game. A late turnover and subsequent 5 yard strike to Nelson for his 2nd TD of the game put the defending World Champs into the half up 3 scores.

The second half started much the way the first went. Ryan Grant, who finished with 176 yards on 27 carries, took a pitch right and went untouched for a 60 yard TD. Just as the Packer faithful began to pack up and head home satisfied with another win, the Jets began their ferocious rally. Mark Sanchez led the Jets to their first TD with a quick 63 yard drive capped by a John "Terminator" Connor 2 yard plunge that only took 2:15 off the clock. Green Bay appeared to regain all the momentum as they methodically drove down the field working time off the clock. With 5:53 left, Ryan Grant made his one big mistake of the game, fumbling a pitch which B. Thomas scooped easily for a 55 yard TD which got this to a 2 score game.

Green Bay again went back to the ground game, taking the clock down to the 2 minute warning. On 1st and 10, they elected not to kneel the ball out as the Jets still had all their timeouts and James Starks trying to fight for more yards fumbled at the Jet 14 where it was recovered by E. Smith. Once again, Sanchez just worked the quick stroke offense to perfection, getting the Jets within 7 on a 22 yard TD to Santonio Holmes with 1:07 left.

After a failed onside kick, Green Bay still needed a first down, and were able to get it on 3rd and 4 with a John Kuhn 7 yard run to seal the deal.
