    Proposal from Jeremy

Jeremy is only on cell phone heading to his job. . .so this is HIS proposal he wants me to post for him.

Now that it looks like our new FA system is beginning, here it is one more time for a refresher.

    OVR Salary Range Min Bonus
    0-50 150,000 - 450,000 0
    51-55 200,000 - 600,000 0
    56-60 250,000 - 750,000 0
    61-65 300,000 - 900,000 10000
    66-70 400,000 - 1,200,000 25000
    71-75 500,000 - 1,500,000 50000
    76-80 600,000 - 1,800,000 100000
    81-85 750,000 - 2,250,000 250000
    86-90 1,000,000 - 3,000,000 500000
    91-94 2,000,000 - 6,000,000 750000
    95-99 3,000,000 - 9,000,000 1000000

    1) Default rosters and non-1st round rookies start with minimum base salary
    2) All FA Bids must stay within salary range, and give a minimum bonus according to chart.
    3) Bonus pay has no maximum limit

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a much more realistic system, and works out a lot of the huge issues we have had initially in FA with unrealistic outrageous bids.

Jeremy's proposal is simple. Admit we screwed up, and RESTART FREE AGENCY. Guys who have signed players have two options.
    1) Release the guy they signed for no cap hit (they would also have the option to void any trades since and only since that signing)
    2) Re-structure the winning bid to meet our new criteria. . .which would mean basically lowering the base salary and increasing the bonus.

Jeremy votes yes I'm assuming since it's his idea.

I also vote yes. We screwed up. If need be I'll take the heat and be the one to post and admit it. But we haven't even played a game of this version yet. There is still time to fix our mistake here, and this was a pretty big one.

So I also vote YES to restarting free agency, and pushing the season start date back a couple days if needed. Better to get it right than just surge ahead just for the sake of doing it.

I'll go with this, but I don't go with restarting FAs. If the rest of the board thinks we should then we will, but i see that causing more harm than good.

Does this also mean we have to totally refigure cap books?

If this chart above means totally redoing our cap book then I am against it. I like it being the chart for all Fas from this moment on.

I say all bids that are done, are done. If the bid thread is started, then the team who are bidding may continue as is.

All new bids from this moment on will folllow this chart or dunlaps chart with ever.

I agree with Nate and Dunn.

We have been admitting that this cap book is a brand new system. We ALL are learning it. We need to tweak it.

So we start in week 1 of this season with the NEW rules for bidding on free agents. Anyone bid on before week 1 of this season is "grandfathered" in with what they are being paid now.

This lets us get to actually playing games (which will help EVERYONE) and gets us more structured for next year. This first FA period was a learning experience, and valuable for that. We tweak, state the new rules going forward, admit we are working towards a better system for all and learning as we go, and get playing.

No way can we restart FA, wanna talk about pissing guys off?

Let the teams have the players they won and then we move everything to this cap and go from there.

We need to start playing and quit dicking around with peoples teams.

And thats like just my opinion dude....

I agree we need to get this going asap. Lets just fix what we can and move forward. This his been quite the learning experience for me and I know if we can just get things rolling we can talk everything over and maybe make some changes in Season 2

Agreed. We can't restart FA IMO. The natives are getting restless. Once we get the season going, we can get all of the wrinkles out.
