Proposed Intra-Conference Games for Next Year

From the other thread ... didn't want it to get lost ...

    Rutgers at North Carolina
    Pittsburgh at Miami
    Georgia Tech at USF
    Florida State at Louisville

    Wisconsin at Alabama
    Purdue at Arkansas
    Ole Miss at Michigan State
    Auburn at Illinois

    Washington at Missouri
    UCLA at Oklahoma
    Texas at Stanford
    Nebraska at Cal

Next year it would be Big Least vs. BCS Busters, Big Ten vs. ACC, Pac 10 vs. SEC.

    Discuss.

Cole, you gonna do the schedule or wait for Helli? From being a commish in a few leagues, that is easily the biggest pain in the ass of everything that comes with running a league

should have Boise St and/or TCU on there as well to knock them out. Also, the SEC...where is LSU on that list? I'm assuming they finished 5th but they definitely are the better team than Ole Miss or Auburn

Let's not get too far ahead, this offseason may take a few. If we get there though I have no problem doing the schedule.

What are we thinking? 4 user games for everyone this year, even JMS.

just keep in mind more than likely somebody will need to pony up a 5th for one or more of the Big Ten teams.

So schedules might look something like this ...

    9 Conference Games
    1 Out-of-Conference User Game
    1 Out-of-Conference
    2 User Choice games

    That's a 13 game season, 14 with the bowl.

So that'll work for guys like me and Juggy who have out of conference rivals.

IMO if you start playing the "well so-and-so is better" game it gets a bit tricky. If folks aren't cool with rotating conferences, we can do something like this ...

    Pitt at Alabama
    Rutgers at Boise State
    Washington at TCU
    Purdue at Georgia Tech
    Wisconsin at Arkansas
    Michigan State at UNC
    Oklahoma at UCLA
    Missouri at Stanford
    Nevada at USF
    Nebraska at Illinois
    Houston at Cal
    Fresno State at Louisville

basically just took us in the order we appear in the Top 25 poll, and matched us up with the top 12 computer teams (minus anybody in the Big East, Big Ten or Pac 10).

I think only Pac 10 has 9 conference games right? Big East and Big 10 have 8 I believe.

Big East/Pac 10 we all play each other, so we'll all have 3 user games. Big 10 rotates so might have 3, 2 or maybe even 1 in conference user game, which will get sticky

I thought the game only let you schedule 12 games...

yup, only 12 games allowed in a schedule.

IMO that pretty much kills the required out of conference games. I don't have room in my schedule to play my rivals, play a user and play another computer team.

Well if I can get 1 user, 1 of the teams Bly listed, and my 2 rivals (Memphis and Kentucky) that would be ideal, but if need be, I'll take on a 2nd team off Bly's list and only 1 of my rivals. Don't want a 5th user team though, my team sucks enough that another losing season would kill us and drop us to 2stars

i'd be willing to negotiate if i had all three last year ... but i didn't  already at a disadvantage this year with only 2 rivalry games, plus one of them every year is against a human.

sorry didn't realize there was 12 game cap - thought it was 13. really almost makes the extra computer game un-doable for most of us in the Pac-10.

for guys in the pac 10 it is easy. just add a big ten user and two cpu teams, I don't think it will be that difficult really.

yeah just need to see what the conf. schedules look like and go from there.

basically an entire thread full of schedule masturbation.
