I thought he had played in TFS last year, might be wrong. Both of these came in the first 20 minutes of the game lol. One came in the 20th and the 2nd in the 17th
I would encourage you to show me where I over possessed in our game, in that throw in. I barely touched the ball and there was your guy. I did try playing back to the keeper but the pass went wide and then you took it and tried to score. You could've kept possession if you like but going for the goal? Naw man. Maybe the Aston Villa one but eh don't think it's necessary to pressure that high in the 1st half of a 0-0 game when I'm running with my back to his end on my side that leads to a 1v1. If you did come from the Xbox side then it may take a while to get used to the rules. Again only reason I bring this up now is because this league will be transitioning over to TFS, and some of these plays seem illegal to me from what I grew accustomed to in my short time at TFS on the PS3 side. Also back to back games where the first goal is conceded like this is awful. RedAL925 Zikry any input?
IMO the rules should be uniform and not based on time of the game. Whether someones "needs a goal" or not shouldn't matter. But your second point is spot on IMO. Taking your time is fine, especially in your defensive 3rd which if you are probing and looking for balls to play. However in the middle of the field? If you are the last man on the ball in the middle of the park, you clear the ball or move it into safety. A turnover in that situation in a real game would lead to a goal scoring opportunity. You can't bring your entire team on a forward move, then cry foul if you lose the ball and get countered. That's not futbol.
By the way, didn't meant cute in any derogatory way. Just a figure of speach for making a simple play dangerous. Possession is great, but sometimes it's necessary to play the ball out of danger quickly.
First let me say that this is the exact reason why twitch is going to be such an asset to this league. Second, this is not a matter of the throw-in rule, but throwing the ball in like you did (hitting pass before the player is at the line) is a recipe for disaster. Now as for the goals...the first one is pretty bad. The pass is a clean, lateral one with no threat to score from there. There is no need for the Villa player to rush the defender and take the ball away. Even late in the game this one is questionable. If you feel the need to defend a player in this position, do so by containing, not tackling. The second goal is equally questionable. The player on the ball is moving backwards in his own half, again with no threat to score. If this one is late in the game, I would be more inclined to let it go, but my preference would be for the attacking player to maintain possession rather than go straight for goal. I'm assessing this one up until the cross into the box...after that it gets a little fluky. So basically, there's no need to tackle in either of those situations. Contain and play passing lanes, tackle in the final third, don't take advantage (switch roles...would you be ok with giving up a goal that way?)
You're not wrong with this statement, but that doesn't mean you are entitled to take advantage. Again, use your noggin...would you throw your controller if that goal was scored on you? Or could you imagine a situation where your opponent would throw his controller if that goal was scored (for the less-aggressive players)?
I hear ya RedAL925. Again, I know the rules and feel that I follow them properly. Luckily we can take it to the tape . Here are all of my games this season for reference.
areas I have seen in the leagues that are frustrating are when you have intercepted a pass and are trying to send it back to your backers, per rules, and the opponent intercepts that pass and goes in to score I have had instances where I have felt I was doing the right thing, but seasoned vets in the league have done it differently. I'm ok with whatever you all decide overall, just lets ensure that we are all on the same page.
Oh those piss me off even more, that's why if I play it back I always go to the side to the LB/RB. If you go to the CB and a forward is around it's easy for them to steal it and go on to score from a 1v1. If I don't play it back I usually kick it out or give it right back to the other team. Only times I keep the ball are when I intercept a pass that was going to give them an advantage. Much more of a hassle to pass it back to the back line when the other team could easily intercept. That's why I'm going to like this twitch app.
Hey fellas, been real busy with work lately and have finally had a few minutes to jump on and see whats new. I'm very excited about this new live streaming segment brought to the site. I saw that FIFA 14 is one of the games that will be able to be streamed. Do you think it would be possible to perhaps have a game streamed showing the do's and don'ts for FIFA 14 gameplay? I have read the rules and understand them and have also looked at previous threads that discussed "grey areas". Just a suggestion, nothing more. I'll be getting the PS4 closer to the FIFA 15 release date which will make me an easy win for the veterans on here. Hope all is well guys.
ALL that for a game with zero shots on target with 3 shots in total...equivalent of getting blue balled here
