Another PSA now to share about draft picks.... Folks, I personally have no problem with anyone stockpiling picks. But do remember one very important thing that we have in the OMFL that the real NFL does NOT have: Rookie wage scale. So if you have that #1 overall pick, be advised that player will cost you the same as a 99 overall player - 3 million base salary, 1 million bonus. If he's a starting WR, that is 12 million dollars (3 million + 1 million =4 million, times 3 modifier for #1 WR equals 12 million dollars). If he's a starting DE, it's 12 million. So to those that have high draft picks and are trying to keep them, watch your free agency spending. Cause you are guaranteed to spend high in the draft coming up. Rules state that you have to keep a drafted player for a year before cutting/trading, so that player you pick up in the draft HAS to be on your roster. No ifs, ands, or buts. Get an idea of where you'll be drafting, and look at the first page of the cap book, under "Master Stats". That has the rookie wage scale pick by pick in the 1st round. Every round after the 1st round has a flat rate (all 2nd round picks make the same, all 3rd round picks make the same, etc.). PLEASE consider that when doling out money for free agents - you'd hate to sign guys, use up all your trade points getting players, and then have to cut good guys you want because your rookies have to be paid.
