Purdue @ Texas A&M last night

Just a quick recap without the game in front of me.

This was a back and forth, close game throughout. The teams were approximately 19-22 on third downs combined. Neither team was getting the other off the field very easily. Both teams has plenty of success on the ground.

It came down to one interception that Ryno accidentally threw as he was trying to make a move with Butler near the line of scrimmage. All the other bad decisions made by both teams resulted in dropped INTs. 1 INT for A&M, none for Purdue.

As Ryno said, QB anthony robinson was putting the ball through the tire all day. He went 21-23.

With Ryno down by 7 points late, we called a cover 4 defense and he threw a quick pass to his WR on the sideline and we couldn't get over there with our slow-ass players. My CB somehow got sucked in on the play and never got deep. Tie game, just over a minute to play.

With the game tied, Ryno had two timeouts. We ran it a couple of times but then Robinson saw Brian Williams getting behind the safety in a (guess what?) Cover 4 defense that Ryno had called, and threw a perfect ball. Williams was hauled down as he caught the pass but the damage was done; we were well within field goal range and the clock was winding down. Ryno used both timeouts and we kicked the winning FG as time expired.

Didn't somebody say that a kicker would never be important?
