The AFC race for the 6th seed in the playoffs is a highly contested one and has caught my eye. I'll take a look at who has the upper hand in that said race.

    AS OF WEEK 12
    1- Jets (11-1)
    2- Browns (9-3)
    3- Broncos (8-3)
    4- Jaguars (6-6)
    5- Patriots (10-2)

    6- Raiders (7-4)
---The Raiders started the season off hot with a 7-1 record but since then have lost 3 straight and have fallen back into the pack of a TON of teams vying for the 6th seed in the playoffs. But still not all is lost for the Raiders. They are only 1 game behind the Broncos and still have two big time matchups with them (one is this week). The Raiders control their own destiny and a win here could give them much needed wiggle room and a upper hand on the AFC West division. A loss though puts them back at 7-5 and that would give Coach_III tons of headaches trying to figure out how they can stop this slide. The good news is that they have 4 of their final 5 games at the black hole. Plus they face two of the cellar dweller teams in the Vikings and Bears of the NFC North which could help bolster their record.
REMAINING SCHEDULE- Broncos (8-3), vs. Chargers (6-5), vs. Vikings (2-10), @ Broncos (8-3), Bears (4-8)

    7- Chargers (6-5)
---As of right now, the Chargers are in a bit of a bind but they can help themselves a lot. They first have a matchup with the Bengals, who are 6-5 as well and are in the playoff hunt. A win here gives them the upper hand on the Bengals and puts them at 7-5. They have a huge game with the Raiders left on the schedule as well as the Ravens left. The Chargers schedule is tough because 4 of their 5 games left are filled with teams in the playoff hunt. To make matters worse, 4 of those games are away games as well. QB Kaelin Patterson has performed great in his rookie season and is in the running for Best QB in the AFC. This is a big test coming for the rookie to see if he can catapult his team into the playoffs broth262 .
    REMAINING SCHEDULE- @ Bengals (6-5), @ Raiders (7-4), Ravens (6-6), @ Browns (9-3), @ Chiefs (0-12)

    8- Bengals (6-5)
---The Bengals are getting hot at the right time, riding a 3 game winning streak and beating the likes of the Ravens, Steelers and Cardinals. They have some quality wins on their schedule taking down the AFC West leading Broncos earlier in the year and the Browns as well. They can continue the good vibes by beating the Chargers, a team that's right in the thick of the playoff race as well. Beating them takes them to 7-5 and then facing the Ravens, another team looking to get in the playoffs. After that, they have the Chiefs and Dolphins who have underachieved so far this season, before ending with the Seahawks at the end of the year. With how hot the Bengals are right now, they are a team to look for to wiggle up to that 6th seed Rhight .
    REMAINING SCHEDULE- Chargers (6-5), @ Ravens (6-6), @ Chiefs (0-12), Dolphins (3-8), Seahawks (7-4)

    9- Ravens (6-6)
---Another team who seems to have gotten it together are the Ravens. They started out 4-6 but have won their last two games and now have their sights on getting into the playoffs. On their schedule, they have the Bengals and Chargers in the next two weeks, both are 6-5 on the year. Then they end the season with the Steelers who are mostly out of the mix and the Cardinals who don't have playoff aspirations. They'll need a lot of help but the QB change to newly signed Sam Bradford seems to have helped this offense move along a bit. The Madden guru JerzeyReign may have figured out what the Ravens need to do to win out but it may have been too late at this juncture...we will see.
    REMAINING SCHEDULE- Bengals (6-5), @ Chargers (6-5), @ Steelers (5-7), Cardinals (4-7)

    10- Texans (6-6)
---We put Houston here mostly because they still have a shot, being tied with the Jaguars. They still conceivably have a shot at the wild card but may need to win out to do so. They have key games against the Jets, and AFC South leading Jags left on the schedule. The Texans coach pitt4life21 was burdened with one of the hardest schedules to end the season. The Jets (11-1) next week followed by the Jags (6-6), then they end the season with the Panthers (9-3) and Patriots (10-2). Ouch.
    REMAINING SCHEDULE- @ Jets (11-1), Jaguars (6-6), @ Panthers (9-3), Patriots (10-2)
