Rags to Riches Discription and Rules Welcome to Rags to Riches, where coaches get their first crack at the big show with teams that need some work, and then see where their career goes from there. Sreese and I(Korenth) are Co-Commishing this leauge, so if you have any questions, feel free to drop us a PM. General rules: See the TF main rule page. This should cover basic gameplay. The following in Green have been borrowed/based from MaslerBoro 16 and “The Rise†dynasty found here on TF Autopilot Rules: Users must play their games and must recruit their players, not the CPU. Autopilot is not an alternative to showing up. However, we do realize that members will travel from time to time. Vacation/Absence: You must ALWAYS let me know in advance. If you do NOT let me know you MUST accept any consequences that come of this. Advances: Advance times will be posted by the commissioner in the forums. There will be approx. 2 days between advances, UNLESS all games and recruiting are finished sooner. Because this league is intended for "mature" members, and we realize that most of us have more important obligations to pop up from time to time, we will attempt to be reasonably flexible with the advance dates with proper notice. User Games: Make the effort on the boards to contact your opponent to schedule and play the game as soon as possible. If a reasonable effort to contact your opponent is not made before the day of advance, the game will be simulated or the user who did make an effort will be allowed to play the CPU. Game Play Settings: Level: All American Length: 7 Min. Sliders: TBD Penalties: TBD Substitutions: As this is a SIM style dynasty, we expect users to keep their rosters together as they would be in real life. Keep players in their positions. If you have a question, post or contact your commissioner. Position Changes (Offseason): Changes in position will only be allowed in the offseason. If a special situation comes up, contact your commissioner and let them know. All position changes must be posted in the forums. Most importantly, size and speed must match up when moving a player to a new position. Follow these guidlines: QB: No Restrictions RB: No Restrictions FB: Restricted Weight restriction > 220 lbs Speed restriction < 88 WR: No restrictions TE: Restricted Height restriction > 6'2'' Weight restriction > 220 lbs Speed restriction < 87 OL: No restrictions DT: Restricted Weight restriction > 245 lbs DE: Restricted Height restriction > 6'2'' Weight restriction > 215 lbs Speed Restriction < 84 OLB: Restricted Weight restriction > 200 lbs Speed Restriction < 86 MLB: Restricted Weight restriction > 205 lbs Speed restriction < 86 DB: No restrictions RET: No Restrictions ATH: May be changed to any position at first. Follow the rules for any future changes of the same person. Package substitutions: Are allowed and are not to be abused. ---Rotating QB’s: If you have a good passing QB and a good running QB and would like to use both, ensure you only switch them out when you change possessions. Alternating quarterbacks between plays is not allowed. Restarts: Restarts against CPU opponents will not be tolerated. The game will most likely be tossed and simmed. It will be my judgement on the outcome. If you repeat offend this rule you will be hit with recruiting sanctions. Restart Penalties: 1st Offense - Game Tossed and Simmed, no exceptions 2nd Offense - Game Tossed & Simmed, Recruiting Sanctions 3rd Offense - Removal from league, you obviously did not understand after the first two times Complaints about opponent's play: First pause the game and speak to your opponent about it, we are all mature here and can handle this, if all esle fails Contact the commissioner of your dynasty through private messages if any situations arise. Save game footage if necessary to show how your opponent was playing. Notes on CPU games: Treat your CPU opponents with the same respect that you treat your user opponents. Blowouts happen, but there is a scoring cap of 65 points with one caveat: you may always win by 21 points. If you go over the scoring cap, the game result will be thrown out and the game will be simmed. There is no exception to this rule. If you are up big in the 4th on the CPU, rest your star players and chew the clock. You will avoid injuries and even build up your sportsmanship rating (if you care). By playing younger players, you have the chance for them to gain in-season progression, and the chance that they progress well is also increased. Winning Big: If you are up by 21 points or more and the END of the 3rd quarter you will need to sub in your second team offense, defense I don't care about (just don't return an interception/fumble obviously). If at any time you are not winning by 21 points or more you may bring in your starters, unless there is like 30 seconds left and you would risk breaking scoring cap. The whole purpose of this is to avoid breaking scoring cap and to give backups (potential future starters) some playing time. Rules for initial school selection. All coaches will begin at a school from the list below. Interested coaches will be asked to submit a top 5 list of desired schools via PM. Schools will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. We will have 4 teams in each confence (WAC, Sun Belt, MAC) with the MAC having two teams in the Eastern division and two teams in the Western division. Any coach who joins after the dynasty has started will be required to start at a school currently rated at 1* and a overall rating of 70 or less. Rules for Schedules: The official NCAA schedules will be used for the first season. After that, every player will have a minimum of two User-v-User games, and no FCS teams will be played. Requests for specific teams to play against will be considered, but not guaranteed Rules for Scholarships: During the Season, a coach may offer a number of scholarships equal to the number of seniors graduating + (70-curret team size) + 3 Example: MTSU has 68 students, with 12 graduating seniors. During the season, MTSU’s coach may offer 12 +(70-68)+3=17 scholarships. During the Off-season, a coach may offer addition scholarships equal to the number of Juniors who left early for the NFL. So if two juniors leave, that team can offer two scholarships in addition to the number they had available during the regular season. Any player who signs with a team does count as a “offered scholarship†Rules for being hired/fired After Three years at the current school, a coach may be hired to any school during the offseason that meets the following criteria. 1. The school must has a prestige rating equal or lower than your current school 2. The school must have had two losing seasons in the last three (.500 or less) In the case of multiple coaches, the following will be used (in order) to determine who gets the school. 1. Overall Win-Loss record 2. Bowl Game record 3. Record for just the previous season 4. Win/Loss of bowl game during the previous season 5. Highest achieved BCS ranking during the season 6. Highest Current BCS ranking 7. User-vs.-User Win-Loss Record 8. Coin flip or other random method Once at higher ranked schools, coaches must live up to expectations, or they may find themselves fired. Expectations are: 3* schools: Receive a bowl invite once every 3 years 4* Schools: Win a bowl game once every 3 years, OR end the season in the top 25 at least once every three years. 5* schools: Win a bowl game once every 3 years, OR end the season in the top 25 twice out of every three years 6* schools: Receive a BCS bowl invite once every three years If a coach is fired for not meeting expectations, they may apply for any school that meets the above criteria with a prestige rating less than their current school.
