34-31 The Los Angeles Raiders notch another W by 3 points After the first quarter the LA Raiders didn't look like they came to play against the Broncos at Mile High Stadium. The Broncos took their opening drive down the field for an easy touchdown to open the game. WR Mike Thomas responded immediately for the Raiders by returning the kickoff 99 yards for a TD. But just like their previous series the Broncos marched down the field to score once again. On the Raiders next drive, Pryor threw an INT on the second play from scrimmage. The first quarter ended with LA down 14-7, with only being able to manage 2 offensive plays. The Raiders defense came ready to play in the second quarter, holding the Broncos to 3 points. Yet, LA's offense still could not get moving. They showed signs of life at the end of the half, moving the ball into field goal range with just enough time to get a field goal attempt off, but to no avail, Hartley's 53 Yards attempt into 8 MPH wind fell short of the goal posts. Broncos lead at Half, 17-7. The third quarter was more of the same, solid defense from both teams. This time it was the Raiders who managed 3 points. Third quarter ended with the Broncos winning, 17-10. The fourth qtr is when the fireworks went off. The Broncos scored almost immediately after the fourth began. The Broncos were now leading by 14. That is when Terrelle Pryor finally woke up and began to tear apart the Broncos secondary. He eventually found Mike Thomas in the end zone for the Raiders first Offensive TD of the day. Broncos now lead, 24-17. On the Broncos next drive, Osweiler found Jacob Hester wide open after a play action play and he eluded 2 Radiers defenders on his way to a 71 yd TD. Broncos lead by 14, 31-17. Pryor took over once again leading the Raiders down the field and found Adrian Laskowski in the end zone for his second TD of the day. The Broncos lead was cut down to 7 once again. With just under 3 min. to play the Broncos found themselves in a 3rd and 4 needed to convert to attempt to run the clock out. Osweiler took the snap and dropped back as his receiver ran a corner route towards the sideline. The ball was overthrown by at least 3 yards and it was now fourth down with 2:20 left in the game. After the punt the Raiders were left with 2:15 on the clock with 2 timeouts and the ball on their 27 yard line. The first play from scrimmage was a read option which Pryor kept and scampered down field for a 20 yard gain. The Raiders converted 2 fourth and longs (10, 13), which lead to them having 7 seconds left in the fourth and only one or two more shots at scoring a TD. On what would turn out to be the final play in the fourth, Marcel Reece lined up next to Pryor in the shotgun. With 3 receivers to his left, it appear as if the Raiders would try to flood the right side of the field. At the snap, Reece took off on a wheel route towards the left side of the field. The left corner jumped on the short curl run by the receiver and Pryor threw the ball towards the sideline for Reece. After making the catch around the 7 yard line, Reece eluded one Bronco defender and beat another to the end zone to tie the game up at 31. To overtime we go. The Broncos won the toss and elected to receive to start OT. After a quater of allowing the Broncos to do whatever they wanted the Raider defense stepped up in a big way. SS Jeron Johnson picked off a Brock Osewieler pass to give the ball back to Terrelle Pryor and the offense in Field Goal range. After a few running attempts to lower the length of the field goal attempt, Hartley came through with the game winner. Great game Phenom looking forward to the next one.
