    Croppers:

Welcome to the home of the new Cropper Power Rankings. I'll be putting together a more visual representation of our schedule and a new power ranking system. The system is based on the following scoring system:

    User Game Win: +3
    User Game Loss: -1
    Overall Win/Loss: Win % * 10
    National Title: +5

I've used this system for a long time. It favors teams that play and win user games while still giving some acknowledgement for beating the CPU. As it grows, I may add additional recognition for:

    Conference Titles
    Quality User Wins

Rankings for season 17. The first part is the schedule. I code the games according to their type and outcome:

Dark Green: User game win. You don't get credit for these unless you win playing as your team and against another user (your opponent can be a sub)

    Dark Red: User game loss.
Light Green: Non-user game win. Contribute to your overall wins, but no bonuses
Light Red: CPU loss or other loss when not playing for your team.

The final part is the power ranking:

Is there a formula to weigh the individual USER wins? For example, it's easier to beat me than the GPOATOTSO (Greatest Player Of All Time On TSO) Ashley, so a win over him should be worth more, right?

I've been thinking about adding quality wins into the formula. I'm not sure how to go about it though. Here are the two primary ways I'm considering (along with the pros/cons of each). Maybe you guys can weigh in on what makes more sense to you?

    1. Give an extra point for wins against teams that finish in the top X spots. For example, if you beat a team that finishes in the top 3, you can an extra point. This seems to be an intuitive way to go about it, but ... adding points for quality wins could/would reorder the standings, which makes the system a little imperfect.

    2. Give a strength of schedule bonus based on the collective H2H wins/losses of the opponents you beat. For example, let's say the 3 opponents you beat had a combined 6-4 record, so your team would get 60% * 3 (1.8) for bonus wins.

    3. Similar to the first option, you could base it off of wins against teams that finish over a certain point level. In the base scoring system, a team that finishes with a score over 15 had a "good" season. You could award an extra point for each win over a team that finished over 15. This has the same drawback of the 1st option where the extra points could alter the rankings.

The other things that could be considered are extra points for:

    A. Getting to the national title game (I'd support this)
    B. Winning your conference title game (I'd support this)
    C. Getting to your conference title game (Probably not)
