With Michigan's newest batch of Wolverines I am ecstatic about some, indifferent about some, and disappointed by others.

    The BAD:
I signed a JUCO TE and the fucker came in as a JR instead of a SO (it's STUPID that EA won't show us this in advance). On top of that, this 4* piece of shit came in rated 75 with 78 speed. He can't graduate and get the hell off of my team fast enough!

The 4* bonus FB I signed only came in rated 74 (but has 82 speed). I was hoping for so much more in him.

    The mediocre:
I have a bunch of guys in the high 70s which should be decent enough with a redshirt under their belts.

    The good:
I posted a while back that I was ignoring the #11 bonus 4* G because I felt the #13 4* G and the 3* guys that I was pursuing would be better. The 4* guy is an 80 OVR and my 3* guy is an 82 OVR (and I'm so weak at guard, that the 82 OVR guy is 1 point from being my 2nd best guard!)

My 5* WR is 6'5, 82 OVR, and 94 SPD (tied for fastest guy on my team). He'll redshirt behind 3 studly SRs, 2 studly JRs, and 1 studly SO and will be a force his RS FR year.

Bobby Ward is a 3* OLB that I grabbed after getting outrecruiting on a lot of higher ranked OLBs. Ward comes in as a 79 OVR.

Stole the bonus 4* CB from Michigan State at the eleventh hour and he's an 80 OVR with 92 speed.

Grabbed a 3* SS out of desperation during offseason recruiting and he's 79 OVR (I had pretty good luck with my 3*s and not so much with my 4*s).

#1 DT from the offseason is ridonkulous! 88 OVR, 78 SPD, 78 ACC, 64 AWR, 83 TAK, 93 SHEDDING!, 83 PUR,
He's going to backup my TWO 99 OVR DTs that'll start for me.

The guy who's been talked about all year, QB Mark Charles.
81 OVR, 87 SPD, 88 AGI, 87 ACC, 95 BTK, 87 ELU, 81 SPM, 87 JKM, 81 THP, 81 THA, 87 INJ (higher than what Forcier is now as a JR)

Overall, I'm very pleased with my recruits! 6 of my 16 guys came in as an 80 or better.

God I don't look forward to playing against Charles every year. It's going to be impossible to stack the box enough to stop that. 95 BTK is absurd.

OMG! I'm pissed...I somehow forgot to offer that dude in Week 1 and I know it killed me b/c in Week 2 he had me 5th then in Week 3 I jumped to 2nd. If only I had offered him in Week 1 I MIGHT have had a chance.

Here's my full class. My thoughts:

-Obviously it's a monster class, arguably the best user class signed in our 2 seasons based on size and number of 5's and 4''s. I lucked out on bonus guys loving me this year. I got 7 freshman rated 80+ and an 82 Juco soph.

-Devin Archie, the #1 QB, #2 OA came in as an 85. He's 239 lbs so the 63 speed shouldn't be surprising, but man is that slow. 90 THP 88 THA. He's basically Ryan Mallet. He'll redshirt, but he and Charles should end up with quite a rivalry. Archie is an even bigger get for me now that I've seen the horrible QB class this year.

-WR Deon Spence, a 5* is an 83 with 96 SPD. Fastest player I've had and only a freshman. With Floyd leaving early, Spence will play as the #3 or 4 WR.

-My biggest disappointment was not signing the 6"6" WR that ended up at Nebraska. It hurt more when Floyd declared early and I had only 5 WRs on the roster counting Spence. I was forced to sign Earl Dawson, #26 WR in the offseason. He turned out a 78, so I'm happy about that. Hopefully the WR's stay healthy and he can keep his redshirt. Has anyone seen Miami's WR's by the way? All Sr's and Jr's but he's got 6 guys over 90 with 90+ speed.

-I'm probably happiest with the TE's. I had interest from the #1 or 2 TE but he looked like garbage. Passed on him for 2 3* guys with a bit more speed and hands. Mike Gardner looked like a gem to me and he was. #263 (before offseason recruits were added), ended up an 81. At 6'6", with the best catching and run block ratings of all my TE's already, I have VERY high hopes for him. Strange thing is that his AWR is 40. Not sure what that's going to mean. He'll redshirt this year though.

-I'm absurdly thin at DE. The 3 guys I have are all 95+, but 2 are seniors and 1 is a junior. I added 1 DE in this class and he came in as a 74 so not looking like starter material for next year. Next year could be a problem at this position.

-The CB's were disappointing. Like I told Basis last night, the 3* guy I cut because he signed without an offer was rated a 77 while the 2 4*'s I thought looked good both came in at 76. One of those guys will need to start next season, so that's another problem.

Overall, a fantastic class. I just mismanaged a couple things. Next year I only have 10 spots so I need to use them wisely. I'm going to need to find a couple starters I think. If I could put 5 hours a week into a stud DE and CB I'd do it.

Then I'm VERY glad that you forgot! I had a horrible week 1 with that kid. Every frickin' pitch I tried was coming up +1, +0, +2. It took me several tries and in the end I only uncovered 1 very high, did not get to pitch anything as I spent all of my time just trying to find out his pitches, and he hung up on me pissed as hell after less than 1 hour. I thought for sure I would lose him after that week.

I agree with you 100% here (and Archie scares the hell out of me!). I think that in this class, both Archie and Charles will do what they do better than any other QBs in this class. Archie will be the best passer and will win Heismans while Charles will be running over defenders better than any other QB (although I really, really need him to work on his 52 CAR rating).

That's interesting. 52 CAR rating. Meaning he'll be nasty but he could be a fumbler. Oddly, Archie has like an 80 CAR rating. I don't remember the exact number, but it jumped out at me as being a lot higher than my other QB's.

    OKLAHOMA:

RB#3 Anton Richardson 5*--He's going to redshirt for sure, came out as an 83OVR, 89SPD, 79STR, 94AGI, 91ACC, 49AWR (Yikes!), 80BTK, 76TRK...He is what I thought he was.

WR#9 Brett Phillips 4*--He's an 80OVR, 89SPD, 75CTH, 81SPC, 77CIT...Again, he's about what I expected from the #68 player overall...I'd expect more from the #68 in general but looking at his attributes I knew he wasn't a true stud.

    WR#65 Eric Simmons 3*--77OVR, 88SPD...He's a depth filler.

WR#23 John Atkins 3* (6'6")--77OVR, 85SPD...Not a stud, not even close but his height will help him crack the line-up sooner than later.

    TE#38 Jared Mills 3*--78OVR, 81SPD, 84CTH...Being a 3*, I'm happy with him. He's 6'5", 260.

TE#27 Chris Reid 3*--79OVR, 83SPD, 85CTH, 88SPC, 90CIT...I'm VERY HAPPY with this 3* gem. His catch ratings are lower than Reese, my current stud TE but he's pretty damn good...I'm going to redshirt him this season so that when Reese leaves I'll have another amazing pass-catching TE ready to go. He's 6'5", 230.

T#23 Adam Wood 3*--Another 3* steal IMO...This guys blocking ratings are as good or better than many of my guys I already had on campus. I'm excited to find guys like this.

CB Ricky Davis 4*--I'm not even sure where he ranked amongst all CB's since he was a late addition to my board but he came out better than expected...He's an 83OVR and could start this season but he'll RS.

This is just a sample of my guys but overall it turned out to be an "okay" class...On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, I'd give this class a 5. Very middle of the pack. I really need this next class to make a real impact.

Since others aren't posting, I'll talk about the guys I was curious about.

Florida signed a bonus 4* G that wanted me, but I ignored in favor of a lower 4* and a 3*. It turns out that was a good decision. Kirby is a 75 for Florida while my 4* is an 80 and my 3* is an 82. :partynanas:

    Fuck you Nebraska!

Fuck you and I hate you Penn State!

Nebraska stole the (preseason) #1 overall recruit from me and I wanted him badly! This MLB is a freakin' 86 OVR! Penn State and I dueled for a monster OLB that I felt would be a stud. He's a 6'7, 251 lb behemoth with good ratings. Penn State moved their visit date up so that they could have him in before me, but they let him hang around long enough for him to visit me anyway. He visited Michigan and still signed with PSU that week. Based on his ratings, I figured he'd be about an 80 or 81. He's a freakin' 85 OVR with 86 speed! @ 6'7 and 251!

If I had signed both of those guys, my LB corps would be very solid for a few years and my recruiting class would've been absolutely ridiculous!

I hate both of you guys!

I should have some time tonight to post my 9 guys I signed.

I have to sign 25 players this year to get back to 70 players.

Don't complain Michigan! You signed the best DT, WR & maybe QB in last years class. You are also liked by a lot of top ranked guys this year! Michigan will be okay.

Overall ratings of each player has been added to my recruiting board. I had a good class, but in the end, I still needed to add more numbers. I lost 25 players off my roster from last year and only manage to sign 18.

    The Good...

Obviously, MLB Carter coming in at 86 overall is very nice!

My gem was a 3* SS that has an initial rating of 81.

WR Johnson (6'6") is rated at 80 and has some very nice jumping skills.

LT Bernard is rated 82 overall.

    The Bad

Nothing to really complain about. Most recruits came in rated in the high 70s to low 80s.

5* CB Reese actually was rated lower then the other two CB's I recruited but not by much.

Overall, I'm happy with this class. I have asked just about all the players to redshirt and have a young, talented team in 2012. I feel I am just a couple pieces away from fielding the kind of team I like to play with. Now if I can just get those pieces!

I thought I loved my 3* TE's, but I think I'm jealous of Oklahoma's. He went even lower down the 3* ranks and even though my guys came in higher OVR, his are faster and have better hands. Guessing my guys have better block ratings though, which is important for my offense.
