Season 2 Fourth Quarter Review Playoff Push Results: Week 13: Raiders 43 Packers 21 Another balanced offensive attack (289 rush 252 pass) overcame 3 Rockford interceptions, as the Raiders handle the Packers in Green Bay. While Odom did add 2 TD passes, Aaron Rodgers and backup BJ Coleman (who came in after a Rodgers injury) outclassed him. The story of the day was the Raiders running game, which saw McFadden (159-2) and Goodson (111-2) have their way with Green Bay’s defense. Brandon Myers led Oakland receivers with 6 catches for 115 yards and another touchdown, and is quietly have a very nice season, and justifying that deal he signed last season. Rookie MLB Marquise Duncan also continues his impressive campaign, collecting 7 tackles and an interception Sunday. The initial reports on Rodgers is that he suffered a mild concussion, and is expected back shortly. Week 14: Raiders 22 Chiefs 21 The Raiders squeeked by the Cheifs Sunday afternoon, completing a season sweep of the division rival. Odom tossed 2 TD passes (1 to Moore, 1 to Ford) and threw for 184 yards in the win, while McFadden and Goodson combined for 92 yards.Oakland did an excellent job defensively, as Chiefs QB Jason Campbell only mustered 124 yards and 1 TD, while throwing 2 picks. Meanwhile, Jamal Charles was held in check, managing just 54 yards on the ground and not scoring. Glover Quinn Jr and Marquise Duncan had the interceptions for the Raiders, while Quintin Groves and Omar Gaither had sacks. . Week 15: Chargers 33 Raiders 24 The Raiders drop a critical game to a divisional opponent, and one that has been struggling this season. While Odom had a nice day despite turnovers (325-3-2), Phillip Rivers was near perfect (283-2-0) and San Diego’s running attack (Matthews and Hightower) thrashed Oakland for 140 yards and a score. Meanwhile, McFadden and Goodson managed next to nothing for Oakland. Denarius Moore led the Raiders with 8 receptions for 146 yards and a score, while sleeper TE Brandon Myers added 2 more touchdowns on what is turning into a spectacular season. Once again, the Raiders lose a game in which they register no sacks. Week 16: Raiders 26 Lions 20 Oakland picks up a critical win over the Lions, as their unlikely playoff push is solidified with the clinch of a birth. Odom (214-1-0) and Stafford (246-1-0) had similar numbers, but Darren McFadden was the difference (20-143-1), though Leshoure and Best put up big numbers for Detroit. Brandon Myers continued his stellar campaign with 8 receptions for 97 yards and another score, and Tyvon Branch led Oakland with 7 tackles. Week 17: Raiders 30 Browns 17 Remarkably, the Raiders have locked down the #1 seed in the AFC just one year removed from a 6-10 season. Odom (233-2-0) outshined Kurt Warner (182-0-2), as Darren McFadden (84-2) and Trent Richardson (82-2) haad similar numbers. Goodson added 44 yards as well. DHB led the charge with 6 receptions for 98 yards and a score, while Oakland’s pass rush explodes for 4 sacks (Groves, Burris, McClain, Houston). Tyvon Branch and Phillip Adams collected the interceptions, while Quintin Groves and Richard Seymour forced fumbles (one of which was recovered). The Raiders are playoff bound with a first round bye! Oakland is playoff bound! Injuries LT Jared Veldheer – Partial MLC Tear. His return for the divisional round is doubtful. Resignings Draft Storylines -Strength issues are holding Penn State OL Andre Reyez back, but he is the fastest OL in the nation. -All-American FSU OL Jayme Arnold is considered the most violent blocker in this class. In addition, scouts are impressed by how explosive he is on the field. -North Carolina QB Jason Merian was a surgeon with the ball this season, cutting through defenses with precision. He is the ultimate dual threat QB.

Odom lit the Steelers defense up, throwing for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns (did, however, throw 2 interceptions). McFadden and Goodson combined for 100 yards, while Darius Heyward-Bey continues to assert himself after a monsterous performance with 14 catches for 181 yards and 2 TDs. Brandon Myers also added 7 catches for 67 yards and a score. Defensively, Joe Bautista picked off Ben Roethlisberger, whiel Miles Burris added 8 tackles. The Raiders now take on divisional foe Denver, while Dallas and Philadelphia, two other division rivals, duke it out in the NFC Championship. Conference Eagles 34 Cowboys 29 Raiders 28 Broncos 25 Despite a rocky game by Odom (214-2-2), the Oakland Raiders clinch a Super Bowl birth against Peyton Manning (263-1-0) and the division rival Denver Broncos. Darren McFadden played well, gaining 97 yards on just 16 carries with 1 touchdown. DHB continues to be the go-to target for Odom, catching 7 balls for 71 yards. Defensively, Miles Burris was the star – adding 7 tackles and Oakland’s only sack. Oakland now prepares for a tough Philadelphia Eagles team who is red hot right now after barely sneaking into the playoffs on the last week of the season. Super Bowl Raiders 36 Eagles 24 We did it! Super Bowl Champs! Rockford Odom completes his magical rookie season by becoming the first rookie QB to ever guide his team to a championship! Unbelievable! The defense stole the show in this one, as Rockford was limited to just 150 yards (2 TDs 0 INTs), while Darren McFadden added 89 yards on 20 carries. But again, the defense carried this team to victory, doing something they haven’t done all season long: picking off the quarterback. Marquise Duncan had 13 tackles, while Tyvon Branch (2) and Quintin Groves (1) had the interceptions for Oakland. Just a year removed from a miserable season, we are World Champs! This is going to be a tough act to follow, as Coach Peench must get right to work on his offseason duties to ensure continued success. 2014 WORLD CHAMPIONS

I took a chance on McFadden after his fumble-less season, but it’s only a matter of time before I replace him. I only did so this time because he accepted a low ball offer. I see great value in Veldheer, and getting all the pieces of my special team back (both returners, K, and P) is huge-even though I feel like Janikowski might not be worth that money. Odds are, he retires in the next few years anyways. Bautista played well for me as an UDFA rookie, so getting him back on a long term deal is promising. I’m upset I lost Groves, but I can understand where he is coming from: he blew it up this year and increased his value, makes sense he wants to go elsewhere to get paid. Reece wanted an absurd contact, so I threw the tag on him in hopes of finding his replacement in the draft and letting him go next year. The tag wasn’t nearly as bad as the money he wanted otherwise, and he’s just not that productive in this scheme.
Season 2 Post-Season Positional Analysis Post-Season Positional Analysis (Season 1) QB: I’m totally set here with Odom (81), Flynn (77), and Pryor (73). Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 HB: Darren McFadden (85) showed signs of better ball security, but he is now 27 years old. Goodson (81) is a great backup, and Taiwan Jones (77) offers great depth. Since McFadden is getting up there in age, and likely won’t be resigned after his 2 year deal is up, I may poke around some late round guys and see if I can get a future starter down the road. I will not, however, spend any more in FA on this position Scouting priority: 3 FA priority: 0 WR: Darius Heyward-Bey (85), Denarius Moore (83), Jacoby Ford (82), and Rod Streater (75) make for a quality group. My UDFA Demetre Woods (71) gives me good depth and a return threat. I will not look to FA for anyone, but might check out some in the draft for curiosity’s sake. Scouting priority: 2 FA priority: 0 FB: Marcel Reece (96) is the best in the biz, but he wants huge money. I will look to the draft for a replacement, or sign one after. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 2 TE: Brandon Myers (76) plays way better than his overall, while David Ausberry (68), Jonathon Basil (68) and Richard Gordon (63) give me plenty of depth. Happy enough with this group not to spend too much time on it, but I may look for a good blocking TE in the draft. Scouting priority: 1 FA priority: 0 OT: Veldheer (91) is one of the best tackles in the NFL, while Na’Quan Tartabull (76) has earned his chance to develop after a stellar rookie campaign. Austin Howard (74) and Tony Bergstrom (67) provide enough depth for the time being. Scouting priority: 0 FA priorty: 0 OG: Rookie Brendan Hill (81) is crazy talented, but Mike Briesel (75) is someone I may look to upgrade. I have no depth at this position, but won’t spend money in FA. I’ll look to the draft, and if I can’t find one, I’ll sign someone after the draft. Scouting priority: 7 FA priority: 0 C: I am set at C with Stefan Wisniewski (81). He is young and produced this season, so I see no reason to scout anyone else or sign any FAs. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 DE: Lamaar Houston (85), Tommy Kelly (82) and Richard Seymour (91) are all DEs in my attacking 34 scheme. Adding Jarius Wynn (76) gives me good depth, but I’ll look to some draftees to provide some youth at the position. Scouting priority: 3 FA priority: 0 NT: I can rotate one of said players in at NT, but I really need a nose tackle. I don’t have a true nose on this team, so I will look for a decent one in the draft. I may also see who is available in FA. Scouting priority: 8 FA priority: 6 OLB: Rookie Miles Burris (71) was sensational in his first year, so I feel pretty good about my ROLB situation. Though he got to the QB 9 times, Burris isn’t a prototypical 34 rusher; rather, he’s a good athlete in space. I most definitely need a 34 edge rusher after Quintin Groves departed, so this will be a huge focus of mine Scouting priority: 9 FA priority: 7 MLB: Rolando McClain (85) and rookie Marquis Duncan (81) are young studs. Omar Gaither (77) and Keyaron Fox (77) provide plenty of depth. I’m set at this position. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 CB: Michael Huff (83) is a solid starter, but Jose Bautista (73) and Phillip Adams (74) won’t cut it as #2 corners. I will look to the draft for sure, and also FA. This is a big priority. Scouting priority: 10 FA Priority: 8 FS: Glover Quinn Jr (78) is solid, but I will look for some depth and perhaps an upgrade in both the draft and FA. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 8 SS: Tyvon Branch (86) and Mike Mitchell (79) are both serviceable. Branch could be moved to FS if things don’t pan out at that position). In which case, I’ll find some depth after the draft in FA. Scouting priority: 0 FA Priority: 0 K: Sebastian Janikowski (96). He’s the man, but he’s 35. I will scout this position, only because it’s cheap to do so. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 0 P: Shane Lechler (83). Same situation as Janikowski. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 0
Season 2 Free Agency Cap room: $38.4 million Big Named Free Agents Matt Ryan - Signed with Minnesota Darelle Revis – Signed with Oakland Pau Soliai – Signed with New Orleans Eugene Monroe – Signed with Atlanta Brandon Spikes – Signed with Minnesota Tony Romo – Signed with Atlanta Michael Oher – Signed with San Diego Charles Tillman – Signed with Chicago Brandon Browner – Signed with Arizona My Targets OLB Jason Worilds 78 overall (attacking 34/34 pass rusher): In dire need of a 34 pass rusher. Worilds would be a solid pick up. FS MD Jennings 72 overall (34 attacking): Would give me some much needed depth to Glover Quinn. DT Terrence Cody 83 overall Hybrid Multiple Front: Could fill a need at the 0 technique. If not now, for when Seymour retires. CB Darelle Revis: I can’t not go for him, right? Scheme fit and elite player, so it’s worth a shot. I’ve been fiscally conservative, this is my one splurge. Signed Darelle Revis 7/$58 million Jason Worilds 3/$6 million MD Jennings 1/$800k Terrence Cody 2/$5 million **Update**: Following the signing of NT Terrence Cody, the Raiders have decided to cut DT Richard Seymour. Seymour, an 89 overall, is almost 35 years old. The move saves Oakland $7 million in cap space. Analysis: After scouting this draft class, it became clear that my two biggest positions of need (34 pass rusher, CB) were incredibly thin. As such, I had to take some risks in FA. Interestingly enough, I threw in a bid for Revis, not knowing a bunch of teams would pull out. I spent a lot of money on him, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. Cody gives me a huge body at the 0 technique with is big, and Worilds gives me that edge rusher that I so desperately need. It looks as if I may be trading picks this year for picks next year. Stay tuned. Darelle Revis is an Oakland Raider, filling a huge need for the World Champs and giving them their first true #1 corner since Nnamdi departed for Philadelphia After the signing of NT Terrence Cody, Oakland announced it would part ways with former Pro Bowler Richard Seymour
Season 2 - Live Draft Commentary With the 32nd pick, I don’t expect to do a whole lot of damage, and will need to reach to find good talent. I have a few guards I’m excited about, a big nose tackle I love, two safeties that look solid, a 34 DE I like, a HB, and a corner I discovered after signing Revis (obviously). I feel confident I can get at least a few of these guys, but how good will they turn out? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miami (1): Miami takes a CB, Zoey Royster, with the 1st overall pick. Will be interesting to see how good he is, as I didn’t even bother to scout him. Ravens (2): The Raven take Andrew Chandler, a storyline HB from Florida who sounds like a complete monster. Chandler is a power runner that will fit in nicely in Charm City. Jets (3): Huge shocker here as the Jets take QB Matt Williams over QB Jason Marian, who was a storyline player from UNC that was raved about, and was projected to go #1 overall. I’m curious to see if this was another colossal failure for a mess of an organization. We’ll have to compare QBs after the draft. Packers (4): Packes snag MLB Simon Jones from Iowa State, another storyline player that walked on having never played football before, only to blow up. Seems like a real talent, and should solidify a suspect defense. Dolphins (5): Dolphins with two top 5 picks? Damn! Here they take Emmanuel Cook, a DE. Panthers (6): Panthers take WR Pierce Cherry. Lions (7): Lions take a WR, huge shocker. Jeremiah Silver was a storyline player they compare to Brandon Marshall – big and physical, and should be a nightmare matched up opposite Megatron. Cardinals (8): Cardinals trade up with Chargers to take UNC QB Jason Merian whose stories have been highly positive. The #1 overall projection, the Jets passed on him in favor of QB Matt Williams. Bengals (9): Traded up with the Giants to grab Kenneth Rodgers, an OLB. Seahawks (10): Jayme Arnold, a RT from Florida State, is another storyline player. His stories have been very positive as well; supposedly an extremely physical lineman. -Looking at my board, there’s nobody I’m really lusting after – as I didn’t scout many 1st round projections. I’ll be patient and see what falls to me. -Trey Wingo just made an Abe Froman reference (Ferris Buelller’s Day Off). So. Awesome. -My pick is upon me. I’m looking at CB Julian Jones and NT Nate Law, but neither one of them I’m in love with. Law is good, but I have a guy I like more projected in the late 3rd. I will look to trade down from this spot. -Cincinnati has offered me a #1 pick next year, and I’m going to take it. I will have to trade up to ensure I get my NT in the 2nd round, however. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The pick: Traded for with Cincinnati for next year’s 1st -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Will see when Nate Law is taken, then move to get my other NT, DeAndre Crawford. -CB Julian Jones goes just a few picks later to the Dolphins. I’ll have to see what I missed out on after the draft. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 2(32): The candidates: DT Nate Law: B PHY, C INT, A STR, C PMV, F FMV, D BSH, D PRC, B TAK, B AWR, C INJ DT DeAndre Crawford: A PHY, B INT, A STR, C PMV, F FMV, B BSH, B PRC, B TAK, C POW, B AWR, A INJ Pretty easy pick for me to make, and I can’t wait much longer on Crawford (proj 3-24). I’m sure someone will snag him up if I don’t. The Pick: DT DeAndre Crawford, Troy. 6’4/336 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -I now shift my attention to the following targets: RG Michael Addison, SS Joshua Cannon, and FS Taylor Fuller. I may consider trading up when if 2 of these guys go before my next pick. -Nate Law, the DT I passed on, goes to Cleveland. -SS Joshua Cannon goes to the Saints. Looked like a beat, but Addison is probably my primary target. -Getting nervous Addison won’t be there, going to try to trade up to the early 20s to snag him. -Successfully traded my 3rd (32) and 7th (32) to move up to 23 (Cleveland) in the 3rd round. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 3 (23) The pick: RG Michael Addison, Kansas State. 6’3/313 Addison looks to be a solid young RG who can fill a need and inject more youth into a ridiculously young offensive line. If he pans out, this unit will be set for years. I’ll have to see where Taylor Fuller goes, and how good he is to make sure this trade was worth it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Taylor Fuller goes with the 1st pick in round 4 to Miami. -I am now targeting HB BJ Hixon and CB Tarmani Taylor. -Both guys fall to me and I have no offers to trade down. This will be the first tough decision of the draft. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 4 (32) The candidates: HB BJ HIxon: A SPD, C STR, A AGI, B ACC, F AWR, B ELU, C BCV, B CAR, B TRK, A JKM, A STA, D INJ CB Tarmani Taylor: C MCV, B ZCV, C PRC, A SPD, A ACC, C AWR, B STA, B INJ, F CAT The pick: Tarmani Taylor, Marist. 5’10, 190. To be honest, I’m not in love with Taylor. He does, however, look like he may be able to develop into a dependable nickel. Hixon was just too injury prone for me here. Edit: This pick got autopicked. Bummer. The cpu took ROLB DeVante Trammell. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -I obviously wanted Taylor. Other than that the only two guys on my board I really care for are LE Avion Stewart and HB BJ Hixon. There’s also a FB I like, but I’m hoping he falls to me later. -Taylor goes to Atlanta with the 14th pick in the 5th. It will suck if he turns out good. -Hixon goes to the Steelers at 21 in the 5th. Seems a good fit for their physical style of play. -Avion Stewart goes to the Bucs at 23. Really wanted him. Bleh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 5 (32) The pick: FB Clayton Watts, USC. 5’11, 265. Watts looks solid, with C AWR and C RBK. I hope to groom him to take over following next season, as Reece will likely be a free agent. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Not much left I like. Will probably take a shot in the dark on someone, something I definitely do last draft. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 6 (32) The pick: HB Brad Barnes, Butler. 5’9/181 Total guess pick here, hadn’t scouted him at all. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Initial Impression: I wasn’t too fond of this draft class, at least for what I was looking for. I really like my move to jump up and get Addison, the guard out of Kansas State. I can’t say I like him as much as I liked LG Hill in last year’s draft, but he fits a need and in a thin draft, it’s worth moving up to get him (especially only sacrificing a 7th in this thin draft). I definitely don’t feel nearly as confident about this drft as I did last draft. Initial Draft Grade (Not Knowing Overalls): B- Riskiest Move: OLB DaVonte Trammel being auto picked. Not risky per se, just shitty. Sure Bet Pick: DT DaAndre Crawford. Makes me glad I cut Seymour, and may challenge Cody for the starting spot at the 0 technique. Guys to Keep an Eye On: Some notable players I passed on were HB BJ Hixon (Steelers), SS Joshua Cannon (Saints), FS Taylor Fuller (Dolphins), Avion Stewart (Bucs). Also, the player I was going to pick until I was autopicked – CB Tarmani Taylor (Falcons). Unfulfilled Needs: Pass rushing OLB. Again. Just haven't seen a whole lot of talent at this position in these two classes, which leads me to believe there will be next year. Good thing I've got two first round picks
Season 2 Draft Review Round 2 (32): DT DeAndre Crawford, Troy. 6’3/336 Scheme: Attacking 34 Rating: 83 overall Reaction: Going into the draft, Crawford was the #1 player on my board and a perfect scheme fit. Projected to go late in the third, I anxiously waited it out to get him. He’s a huge physical presence with 98 strength 86 PMV, 80 BSH, 85 PUR, 80 PRC, 88 TAK, and 80 AWR. Crawford will anchor this defensive line for years, and is the presumed starter over newly acquired Terrence Cody. Round 3 (23): RG Michael Addison, Kansas State. 6’3/313 Scheme: Zone run Rating: 77 overall Reaction: Very pleased with the addition of Addison – even if I had to move up to get him. He has 85 PBK, 80 RBK, 85 IBL, 89 STR, and 75 AWR, making him an instant upgrade from Mike Brisiel. Seeing as I only gave up my 3 (32) and 7th (where there was nobody I wanted), I definitely came out on top. Round 4 (32): OLB DaVonte Trammel, Wyoming. 6’4/251 Scheme: Base 34 Rating: 63 overall Reaction: Well, I had a corner lined up here, but ran out of time and the cpu autopicked Trammell for me. Trammell is a decent athlete, but by and large brings nothing to the table. The corner I had hoped to pick turned out to be a 76 overall, so this is a big disappointment. I hope Trammell can make an impact on special teams, otherwise he’ll be out sooner than later. Round 5 (32): FB Clayton Watts, USC. 5’11/265. Scheme: Balanced Rating: 66 overall Reaction: A definite disappointment here, as I had thought he’d be rated much higher. This is where the scouting restrictions handicap me, as I had him at C AWR and C RBK. Had I known those ratings would turn out to be 69 and 71, respectively, I probably wouldn’t have pulled the trigger. Had hoped to find a successor to Marcel Reece (on the tag), but it looks like this will have to be done next offseason. Round 6 (32): HB Brad Barnes, Butler. 5’9/181 Scheme: Balanced Rating: 68 overall Reaction: Not bad for a blind pick, as Barnes has some interesting attributes (95 ELU, 92 SPD, 81 CTH). I think Barnes can develop into a decent backup for me down the road, so this wasn’t a worthless pick by any stretch of the imagination. Grade: B-. Yet again, I fail to find a 34 edge rusher. Trading my first for the Bengals first next year seems a good move right now, as this was a weak class and there wasn’t anyone there I really wanted. Securing two valuable starters (Crawford and Addison) prevents this grade from being in the C range, but getting autopicked and missing out on a good corner as a result was no bueno. Upon Further Review: Some of the key guys I missed out on turned out to be fantastic; most notably, LE Avion Stewart (Bucs – 81), and CB Tarmani Taylor (Falcons – 76). I am shocked at how bad some of my targets ended up being, however: HB BJ HIxon (68 – Steelers), FS Taylor Fuller (Dolphins – 65), and JSS oshua Cannon (Saints – 56). This definitely makes me reconsider how I’m scouting safeties. Top 10 notes: - The Jets shocked the world when they opted to take QB Matt Willaims over projected #1 overall QB Jason Merian from UNC. No surprise, however, is the fact that Marian turned out to be the better player at 78 overall, while Williams is a 75. The Jets front office woes continue. --Ravens HB Andrew Chandler is perhaps the best RB I’ve seen as a rookie. The storyline player has insane speed, size, strength, elusiveness, and trucking ability. He’s an 82 overall and I’m sure has either fast or SS development, based on how positive his stories are. It’ll be interesting to see what the Ravens do, and how they manage Chandler and Rice. I hope dumb AI doesn’t render Chandler useless. -Seattle RT Jayme Arnold is a beast (84), as is Packers’ MLB Simon Jones (85). -Both WR prospects taken in the top 10 (Jeremiah Silver-Lions, Pierce Cherry-Panthers) didn’t quite pan out, particularly Silver. -The Bengals gave up a lot to move up and grab OLB Kenneth Rogers, who is only a 73. -The Dolphins got a future lockdown corner in Zoey Royster (83), but Emmanuel Cook may be a bit of a bust.
Season 3 Five Buring Questions Heading Into Preseason Will newly acquired Darelle Revis be worth his lucrative contract? 1. Will Darelle Revis be worth the money? The usually conservative Coach Peench shelled out $60 million in attempt to bolster a weak secondary. Will Revis be worth that contract? 2. How will Rockford Odom handle success? The rookie QB was stellar en route to a Super Bowl victory, but will all the success get to his head? A sophomore slump is possible. 3. Will Crawford fill the gap at NT? Richard Seymour was a fantastic player and a huge part of the front 3 for Oakland. Will DeAndre Crawford be a liability in his place? 4. Can Darius Heyward-Bey continue to assert himself as a #1 WR? There were huge question marks surrounding DHB, mostly about his ability to be a polished route runner and reliable #1 target. The former #9 overall pick answered those questions emphatically last season, but it remains to be seen if he can do it consistently. 5. Is this McFadden’s last season as the starter? Back-up Mike Goodson has been pushing DMac for carries since Coach Peench took over. With McFadden on a short term deal and creeping up on 30 years of age, this could be his last season in the spotlight. If he can put together a great season, chances are he retains his spot.

Everyone progressed nicely, except McClain and Tommy Kelly who have seem to regress. Getting Revis is huge, and upgrades what was a weakness in pass coverage last season. I’m hoping the pass defense numbers bet a big boost, as we were in the bottom third of the NFL in passing yards allowed, and second to last in interceptions. The biggest concerns for me are on defense: losing Seymour was tough, but I believe Crawford can come in and be effective immediately. Also, I still lack an elite edge rusher-though Worilds looks capable as a stop-gap until I find one.
Season 3 First Quarter Review Picking Up Where They Left Off Results: Week 1: Raiders 32 Falcons 29 Oakland opens up the season with a home win against a Falcons team that lost Matt Ryan this offseason. Tony Romo was signed as a replacent, and had a strong opener (363-2-2), torching the revamped Raiders secondary. Revis, the key offseason acquisition, did pick Romo off, however, while Rockford Odom threw for 196 yards 1 TD and 1 INT. Mike Goodson (97-1) and Darren McFadden (58) had a solid performance on the ground, though McFadden lost a fumble – something to definitely keep an eye on as Coach Peench has said he is on a short leash with his ball security. TE Brandon Myers continues to produce for Oakland, catching 6 balls for 125 yards and a score. Defensively, Marquis Duncan (7 TAK) and Darelle Revis (4 TAK) had the interceptions for Oakland. Week 2: Raiders 32 Chiefs 14 Rockford Odom threw for 190 yards and 2 TDs to pace a solid Raider win Sunday against a divisional rival. Jamaal Charles dashed for 88 yards and a score, while Goodson (49-1) and McFadden (79) ran the ball well for Oakland. DHB led Oakland with 8 receptions for 78 yards and a score, while Tommy Kelly had 7 tackles and a sack for the Raiders. Week 3: Texans 37 Raiders 9 The Texans took advantage of a great performance from starting QB Chad Henne (347-3-0) en route to a shellacking of Oakland. Odom, on the other hand, was not as his best – throwing for 216 yards and an interception. DHB once again led the team in receptions (11-96), and Rolando McClain had 12 tackles iin the losing effort. Week 4: Raiders 28 Ravens 21 Oakland rebounds after a tough loss with a strong performance against Baltimore. The pass defense was much better, limiting Flacco to just 171 yards 1 TD and intercepting him once. Odom improved upon last weeks performance as well, throwing for 237 yards 2 TDs and 1 INT. McFadden ran wild, with 113 carries for 20 yards – but lost yet another costly fumble. Goodson added 43 of his own. Ray Rice had 15 carries for 99 yards, while highly touted rookie HB Andrew Chandler had 35 yards on just 4 carries. Jason Worilds blew up Sunday, collecting 7 tackles and 3 sacks, providing a much needed pass rush. Phillip Adams added the interception, while Jacoby ford did his part with a punt return for a touchdown. Injuries LE Lamarr Houston – Shoulder tear (6 weeks) Resignings Oakland reached an agreement with backup QB Matt Flynn, all but ending Terelle Pryor’s run in the Bay Area. They also secured their offensive center Stefen Wisniewski for 4 years – which is great news. The bad news? TE Brandon Myers, who has been a key contributor, flat out rejected Oakland’s generous offer. QBMatt Flynn 3/$6.8 million C Stefen Wisniewski 4/$$11.7 million Draft Storylines -All eyes on Ohio’s elite WR Antonio Bolden -LSU CB Chance Green displays elite cover skills in win -Auburn QB Andrew Carvel is the most dominant signal caller in the conference. -Indiana CB Angel Martinez climbing draft boards after two INT game. -Furman TE Andrew Staley looking like an elite prospect -Maryland RE MaJarion Quick lives up to his name -Indiana CB Angel Martinez leads Indiana in passes defended, and he is on pace to be the team’s all time interceptions leader.
Breaking News: TE Brandon Myers, Raiders to part ways Oakland, CA.-In a stunning move, Brandon Myers, a key component of Oakland's Super Bowl run, has opted to part ways with the organization at the end of the season. Coach Peench was thought to have offered Myers a deal above his asking price, but at the end of the day Myers thought his opportunities would be better elsewhere. "I will continue to play my heart out for this team," Myers said after the announcement came. "In no way will this comprimise my play this season - I am under contract with Oakland this whole season and will work my tail off for this organization and Coach. At the end of the day, I just thought it was best for me individually to move on from Oakland and test my value on the FA market". When asked if there was any chance of him returning to Oakland during free agency, the TE said "I can't see that happening. I don't think they'd want that now". Analysis: This is a pretty big loss for me. Myers has absurd catch and catch in traffic, and plays well above his 77 overall. He's put up big numbers for me, and will be tough to replace. FOr the sake of realism, I won't pursue signing him in FA.
Season 3 Second Quarter Review Odom's Sluggish Start Continues Results: Week 5: Browns 47 Raiders 41 In a barn burner, Okland surrenders 343 yards to Matt fucking Hasslebeck (2 TDs 1 INT). Meanwhile, Rockford Odom continues to struggle, throwing for 265 yards 2 TDs and 2 INTs. DHB had a fantastic day, catching 9 balls for 113 yards and accounting for both touchdown receptions. Meanwhile, McFadden (174-2) and Goodson (62-1) ran wild on the ground, but it was all for naught. The Oakland defense failed to register a sack (I swear we lose every game we don’t get a sack), as Tyvon Branch added the interception. Justin Forsett was the difference, however, returning 2 punts for scores against what looked like a shaky Oakland special teams unit. This is just the type of performance that makes dealing with Darren McFadden so difficult. He fumbles, but he has outstanding games like this every now and then. I’m truly torn on what to do with him. Week 6: Raiders 40 Chargers 7 The Raiders defense answers criticism from last week with a dominant performance, holding the Chargers offense to just 208 total yards (151 passing). Jason WOrilds, Miles Burris, and Jarius Wynn all collected sacks for Oakland, and Omar Gaither forced a fumble. Odom had a nice day, throwing for 275 yards and 2 scores, but had yet another interception. Darren McFadden lost another fumble as well, but did manage 115 yards (Goodson added 41 yards and 2 scores). Week 7: Raiders 23 Broncos 19 Odom (218-2-1) outshines Peyton Manning (247-1-1) yet again, as the Raiders squeaked by the Broncos Sunday night. Darelle Revis had the interception, while Miles Burris (2 sacks) and Jason Worilds (1 sack) never let Peyton get comfortable in the pocket. Week 8: Steelers 31 Raiders 7 The Raiders must’ve been looking ahead to their bye week, as this team didn’t seem to show up Sunday against Pittsburgh. While the pass defense looked ok, the run defense was exposed, as Steelers HB Samson Bales (Happy Gilmore moment – who the fuck is Samson Bales?) explodes for 219 yards and 3 scored. Odom only musters 186 yards and throws two picks, while Jason Worilds picks up another sack. Worilds has overachieved as an edge rush linebacker, and has proven to be a smart pick up. Week 9: Bye Injuries LE Lamarr Houston – Shoulder tear (1 week) Resignings Huge to get McClain and Moore back, as their integral parts of my future. Lechler comes back on a one year deal, but one has to think he’ll retire soon. Howard gives me nice depth, and Ausberry is a necessary sign after Myers decided to leave. MLB Rolando McClain 4/$14 million WR Denarius Moore 4/$12 million P Shane Lechler 1/$1.2 million RT Austin Howard 3/$3.45 million TE David Ausberry 1/$1.10 million Draft Storylines -LSU CB Chance Green is one of the greatest multiple-threat plaers to come out of college in years. He’s a CB, WR, and KR. -Maryland RE MaJarion Quick is a quality defensive end who plays smart and reacts quickly, though his tackling needs help. -The NCAA completion percentage leader, Auburn QB Andrew Carvel has no interceptions through his first seven games. -Martinez has a great nose for the football and is a total ball hawk. In other words, expect Indiana CB Angel Martinez to keep scooting north on draft boards. -The Big 10 leader in receiving yards, yards after catch, and catches, Ohio WR Antonio Bolden is streaking up draft boards as the top wide receiver in his class.
Season 3 Midyear Review AFC West Standings Raiders 5-3 Broncos 5-4 Chiefs 4-4 Chargers 2-6 -The Jaguars are the only "surprise" team thus far, and have the best record in the NFL (7-1) -The Bengals, whose 1st round pick I won, are 3-5 Team Statistics of Note 18th in total offense 12th in passing offense 2nd in rushing offense 12th in total defense 17th in passing defense 14th in rushing defense 26th in team sacks (12) 29th in team interceptions (5) Individual Statistics of Note QB Rockford Odom: QBR 80.9, 62% completion, 1783 yards, 11 TDs, 9 INTs HB Darren McFadden: 132 carries, 720 yards, 3 TDs, 3 fumbles HB Mike Goodson: 98 carries, 399 yards, 5 TDs, 1 fumble WR Darius Heyward-Bey: 48 receptions, 523 yards, 4 TDs TE Brandon Myers: 38 receptions, 358 yards, 1 TD Rolando McClain: 62 tackles, 1 FF Darelle Revis: 2 INT, 11 PDEF, 19 CTCHA Jason Worilds: 38 tackls, 6 sacks Projected Pro Bowlers: TE Brandon Myers Analysis: A pretty miserable season statistically. It figures my only projected pro bowler is a guy that already rejected my offer, but I'm still hanging in there in first place. Odom needs to pick it up big time, and McFadden needs to stop fumbling. 26th in sacks and 29th in interceptions says it all - the defense needs more playmakers. The good news is that Cincinnati is struggling, and I have their first round pick. Should be an interesting second half of the season.
Season 3 Third Quarter Review Consistently Inconsistent Results: Week 10: Bengals 23 Raiders 21 A big game considering the Raiders hold Cincinnati’s 1st pick, but it was much of the same for Oakland – no interceptions, little pass rush (Worilds 1 sack), mediocre game from Odom, and a fumble from McFadden. The offensive did combine for 110 rushing yards, and DHB had another 10 catch performance. Nick Jones sealed the game with a kick return for a TD for the Bengals. Week 11: Raders 27 Saints 13 Odom explodes for 371 yards and 3 TDs, but did throw 2 picks. Meanwhile, Cam Newton was virtually flawless (215-2-0), as neither running attack was successful. Brandon Myers and Denarius Moore led the Chargers in receptions, while Marquise Duncan collected 11 tackles and a sack. Week 12: Patriots 31 Raiders 23 Tom Brady lights up Oakland for 307 yards and a score, while Odom has a solid day himself (231-2-1). Stevan Ridely runs well for the Pats (92-1), while Oakland’s rushing attack struggles again. Brandon Myers led the receiving efforts with 8 catches for 151 yards and 2 scores, while yet again the defense didn’t register a sack or interception. Week 13: Raiders 23 Chiefs 22 Odom leads Oalkand to the win with a near perfect game, throwing for 213 yards and 2 scores for a BR of 120.0. Meanwhile, Jason Campbell was held to just 164 yards and threw a costly interception. Jamal Charles and Joseph Addai, however, combined for over 200 yards and 2 scores against the Raider defense. Myers again with an 8 catch performance and a touchdown, while Darelle Revis reels in another interception for the Raiders. Injuries CB Phillip Adams – Dislocated hip (4 weeks) RT Na’Quan Tartablull – Dilsocated hip (4 weeks) DT Tommy Kelly – Knee Cartilage Tear (3 weeks) Resignings MLB Omar Gaither 2/$2.8 million
Season 3 Fourth Quarter Review The Wheels Fall Off Results: Week 15: Charges 75 Raiders 27 Uh, what the shit? 75 points? Are you joking me? Rives puts up 340 4 TDs and 1 INT, while Odom tosses 2 TDs but 4 INTs. Matthews runs all over us (170-3), while McFadden is limited to just 57 yards. Marquise Duncan adds the lone interception, while Jason Worilds, Miles Burris, and Lamarr Houston all have sacks. First game in which I have an interception and sack and still lose. Demetere Woods has a KR for a TD for me, while Richard Marshall has one for SD. Darelle Revis was solid, only allowing 2 catches and deflecting another 2. Week 16: Broncos 7 Raiders 14 Oakland drops a critical game against a division opponent, severely darkening the playoff picture. Odom throws 2 picks (195 yards and 1 TD), while Manning throws for 217-1-0. McFadden has a nice game, gaining 97 yards and a score. The defense played well for the most part, as Lamarr Houston and Tommy Kelly collected sacks Week 17: Buccaneers 24 Raiders 6 A horrendous offensive performance, and yet another dismal game for Odom (169-0-3). The pass defense was solid, but Doug Martin took off for 111 yards and a score. McFadden had a pedestrian game, while Jacoby Ford led Oakland with 6 catches. The Raiders didn’t register a sack, while Tampa Bay got 4. The loss officially ends the Raiders' quest to defend their championship. Injuries SS Tyvon Branch – Upper Arm Fracture Resignings DT Tommy Kelly: 1/$6.2 million Draft Stories -Furman TE Andrew staley leads all 1-AA tight ends in receptions, YAC, and touchdowns. -Scouts are going nuts of Furman TE Andrew Staley’s athleticism after he posted the highest vertical leap at the combine history, but some question how he’ll play against top talent -A lot of scouts feel like LSU CB Chance Green is pro-ready, but not everyone is sure he’ll start when he reaches the NFL

Reese's contract was way under what he wanted.
Season 3 Post-Season Positional Analysis QB: Despite a disappointing season from Odom (83), he is still my future. I’m set here with Flynn (77) as the back up. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 HB: McFadden (86) and Goodson (81) are both 28 years old, with the former entering his contract year. Brad Barnes (68) looks intriguing as a future player, but I want more youthful talent. I will definitely be scouting some HBs. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 0 WR: Darius Heyward-Bey (86), Denarius Moore (85), Jacoby Ford (82), and Rod Streater (76) make for a quality group. Demetre Woods (71) gives me good depth and a return threat. I will not look to FA for anyone, but might check out some in the draft for curiosity’s sake. Scouting priority: 2 FA priority: 0 FB: Marcel Reece (96) is the best in the biz, and just signed a 2 year deal. Set here. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 TE: I lost TE Brandon Myers (78), who was incredibly productive. I’m left with Jonathon Basil (68) and David Ausberry (65). Safe to say this is a big need for me moving forward. Scouting priority: 8 FA priority: 5 OL: Totally set here with Veldheer (93), Hill (81), Wisniewski (86), Addison (77), and Tartabull (81). A great group of young players. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 DL: NT DeAndre Crawford (83) showed a ton of promise as a rookie, and Terrence Cody (83) gives me nice depth. Lamarr Houston (87) is a stud, but DE Tommy Harris retired – leaving me thin at DE. I’m not so sure I want Jairus Wynn (76) starting for me. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority 5 OLB: Miles Burris (78) is sensational in his first year, but I need a better rush OLB opposite him. Scouting priority: 9 FA priority: 7 MLB: Rolando McClain (84) and Marquis Duncan (85) are young studs. Omar Gaither (77) and Keyaron Fox (77) provide plenty of depth. I’m set at this position. Scouting priority: 0 FA priority: 0 CB: Revis (95) arrived in FA last year, but Michael Huff, Chimdi Chekwa, and Phillip Adams depart via FA. Clearly some work to be done at this position. Scouting priority: 10 FA Priority: 8 FS: Glover Quinn Jr (80) is solid, but I will look for some depth and perhaps an upgrade in both the draft and FA. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 8 SS: Tyvon Branch (88) and Mike Mitchell (81) are both good. All but set here. Scouting priority: 0 FA Priority: 0 K: Sebastian Janikowski (96). He’s the man, but he’s 35. I will scout this position, only because it’s cheap to do so. Scouting priority: 6 FA priority: 0 P: Nobody – Lechler retired. I will scout all the punters, and sign someone after the draft if need be. Scouting priority: 10 FA priority: 10
Season 3 Free Agency Cap room: $44.6 million Big Named Free Agents QB Cam Newton: Signed with GB QB Matthew Stafford: Signed with NO LT Troy Smith: Signed with ATL CB Patrick Peterson: Still available OLB Lance Briggs: Signed with CHI WR Randal Cobb: Signed with GB SS Kam Chancellor: Signed with NYJ WR AJ Green: Signed with DET WR Torrey Smith: Signed with WSH WR Dez Bryant: Still available My Targets LG Kyle DeVan P Zachary Thornhill Signed LG Kyle DeVan: Signed 2/$1.6 million P Zachary Thornhill 3/$2.85 million Analysis: I really wanted to play it conservatively here, having gotten Revis during the last offseason. Despite a lot of cap room, I want to build through the draft and have flexibility down the road. I replace Lechler at punter with a young kid who is pretty solid, as well as get some depth on the offensive line. Boring but successful FA run.
Season 3 Live Draft Commentary Draft Preview: At this point last year, I was very meh on the class. This is a completely different story, as I’m thrilled about this class and the depth at my positions of need. There seem to be a number of very strong TEs – the class looks stacked. There are some intriguing CB prospects, 34 DEs, and one OLB I really like. I have the 13th and 25th (via CIN) picks in the 1st round, and may make a move to grab a player in the top 10. Really looking forward to this one. As always, I’ll bring you live draft commentary, as well as a run down of the top 10 players taken. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -There are a few guys I’m salivating over: CB Chance Green, TE Andrew Stanely, WR Antonio Bolden, and CB Angel Martinez. I believe all four are storyline players. 1(1)-Jets take DT Tony Tyler 1(2)-Jaguars take QB Ladarris Vaughns 1(3)-Rams take TE Andrew Stanely. -One down, three to go. Stanely looks like a monster, but there’s tons of depth at TE this year. 1(4)-Browns take LT Marvin Jimmerson 1(5)-Steelers trade with Cowboys and take MLB Audre Stevenson -I’ve traded up with the Redksins, sacrificing my 1st (13), 6th (13), and next year’s 3rd. There’s one player I really, really want – so it made sense to make the move. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1(6) The candidates: CB Chance Green (1-11): A SPD, A ACC, A AGI, A JMP, B MCV, B ZCV, F PRC, B AWR, B CTH, A KR, D INJ, B STA WR Antonio Bolden (1-16): B SPD, B ACC, B AGI, A JMP, B STR, B CTH, B CIT, A SPC, B RTE, B RLS, B AWR CB Angel Martinez (1-28): B+ SPD, B+ACC, B JMP, B MCV, C ZCV, B PRC, C AWR, C CTH, A INJ, B STA The pick: Chance Green, LSU. 6’0.190 Good track record with LSU DBs, and he looks phenomenal. I need playmakers in the secondary, and he will make for a nasty 1-2 punch with Revis. The injury issue is a concern, however. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1(7)- Steelers trade up again? Damn. This time with Atlanta and take OLB Bryan Jones. 1 (8) – CLE trades up with SD takes SS Dexter Cleveland 1(9) – Skins trade up and take OLB Dominic Gibson 1(10) – Cowboys trade up and get WR Antonio Bolden. He looks unreal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -I’m wide open with where I could go next pick. Will be interesting to watch unfold. Three guys I have on my radar are 3rd round projections: WR Jermichael Colvin. HB Emmanuel Humphry, and OLB Khamari Jackson. DE Jamal Britt and DE Dayonne Baker (2nd round projections) Would also make a lot of sense. -Angel Martinez goes to the Patriots. Will be interesting to see how he pans out compared to Green. -I’m up, all 4 targets have fallen to me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -I’ve decided to trade this pick to the New York Jets for their 1st rounder next season. I just didn’t see anyone here having the right value, and Baker and Britt just weren’t quite good enough for me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Jamaal Britt goes to the Saints at 2(2) -I’ve got three options here: WR Jermichael Colvin. HB Emmanuel Humphry, and OLB Khamari Jackson -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2(13) The candidates: WR Jermichael Colvin (3-9): B JMP, B CTH, B CIT, B RTE, C RLS Khamari Jackson (3-32): B SPD, B ACC, C STR, B TAK, A POW, B PUR, B PRC, B AWR, B BSH, B FMV, B PMV, A INJ, C STA HB Emmanuel Humphrey (3-10): A SPD, A ACC, B AGI, C STR, A ELU, B BCV, A CAR, B TRK, C SFA, C SPM, B JKM, B STA, A INJ The pick: Emmanuel Humprhy, HB, Southern Miss. 6'0/212 I just hadn’t scouted Colvin enough, and I’m hoping Jackson falls to me. Humphrey can be groomed behind my 2 28 year old HBs. WR just wasn’t as much of a need, but Covlin looks like a monster. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Targeting Jackson or Colvin with this next pick. Hopefully one of them falls to me. -The Vikings take former target DE Dayonne Baker -We’re at pick 4 in the third and Colvin is still around – I HAVE to try to make a move. I need my 3rd, and 4th, but I can move all else. I offer 5th and 7th this year, and a 6th next year. They accept! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3(4) The pick: WR Jermichael Colvin, WR, Nevada. 6’4/205. Huge bodied guy who looks primed to held out a struggling Odom. Don’t be surprised if some of the established WRs on this team are moved for draft picks, or simply cut. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Now praying Jackson will be there at 13. Truthfully, he’s a greater need than Colvin, but I made the move based on pure value. I didn’t think if I took Jackson at 4 that Colvin would be there at 13. -Well, fuck. Jackson, projected to go 32nd in this round, taken one pick before me at 12. I have to scramble here and figure out what to do, that sucks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Decided to trade this pick to Cleveland for their 2 next season. Would’ve liked more picks in this draft, but nobody gave me an offer with anything other than next year’s 2s. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Now, I’m waiting on a TE. Eric Legoux (proj 5th rounder). Looks like an absolute beast, perhaps even better than Andrew Stanely. There’s another TE I really like, too, Mohammad Sellers (4-17). -Isaac Kescoli was a really interesting HB I had just below Humphry. He goes to the Bills, will like to see how he turned out. - Jaqwaylin Brown was a CB target I had for later rounds if I missed on Green/Martinez. He looks really good, but I hope he’s not as good as Green. I took Green for his playmaking ability anyways, and it clearly looks better than Brown (B CTH as opposed to D). -I’m up, both TEs are here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4(13) The candidates: Mohammad Sellers (4-17): B SPD, C ACC, B JMP, C STR, B CTH, B RTE, B SPC, C RLS, B AWR, A INJ, B STA Eric Legaux (5-18): B SPD, A ACC, A JMP, B STR, B CTH, B RTE, C SPC, C RLS, D RBK, C IBL, A INJ, C STA The pick: Eric Legaux, TE, Pittsburgh. 6’6/262. Huge bodied, athletic TE whom I absolutely love. Like I said, not much worse than Stanely in my opinion. Brandon Myers can eat it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Mohammad Sellers goes with the very next pick to Green Bay. Will have to compare these two. -Going to see if there’s anyone I really want left on my board. I’m out of picks this year, but have 7 next year. -LE Barry Gilliam is the only intriguing prospect left. I’m debating as to whether or not I want to make a move for him. -I’ve decided not to, and the draft concludes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Initial Impression: This was a crazy draft in what I thought was a deep class. I moved up, and I moved down, but got 4 target players. Missing out on the OLB Jackson hurt, particularly he was taken just one pick before mine. But overall, I’m thinking I did very well. Green sounds like the playmaker I need (last in the league in INTs), Legaux is a beast that fills a need, Humphrey could compete for carries in an aging group of HBs, and Colvin, though I didn’t scout him much, looks like he could be amazing. Initial Draft Grade (Not Knowing Overalls): B+ Riskiest Move: WR Colvin, as he wasn’t scouted nearly as much as I’d have liked him to be. Sure Bet Pick: CB Chance Green - I don't even care about his overall, I just know he is going to make plays for me in that secondary. Guys to Keep an Eye On: The obvious miss for me was OLB Khamari Jackson, who went to the Colts. TE Mohammad Sellers (Packers), CB Angel Martinez (Patriots), and Jaqwaylin Brown (Titans I believe). I traded my 2nd first instead of taking DE Jamaal Britt (Saints). Unfulfilled Needs: Pass rushing OLB. Again. Three drafts I’ve failed to secure one.
Season 3 Draft Review Pick 1(6): Chance Green, CB, LSU Rating: 77 overall, normal development Analysis: I traded up from 13 to get whom I deemed my #1 target. Green was a storyline player, and one thought highly of by the twitter world. His play recognition is extremely low (54), but he’s fast and can catch. I needed a playmaker in my secondary and got one. Hopefully I won’t finish last in interceptions again. I passed on Chance Green in favor of Angel Martinez, who went 23 to the Patriots. Though Martinez came out to an 82, Green’s athleticism, kick return ability, and playmaking ability still make him the right pick in my opinion. Pick 1(25): Traded to the New York Jets Pick 2(13): Emmanuel Humprhy, HB, Southern Miss. Rating: 75 overall, normal development Analysis: Irrespective of the overall, I like what he brings to the table. He has 92 SPD, 95 ACC, 89 ELU, 75 STR, 84 AGI, 85 BCV, 91 CAR, and 79 truck. He’s very balanced, and I like that a lot. Hopefully he can hang onto the damn ball. I passed on the OLB Jackson here, who turned out to be a great pass rushing OLB (81). Pick 3(4): Jermichael Colvin, WR, Nevada Rating: 71 overall, normal development Analysis: I knew this was a high risk pick, but from the limited attributes I had unlocked, he looked like a potential beast. At 6’4, he’s still a redzone threat – but 82 speed and 81 jump are disappointing numbers to see. Add to that a 54 AWR rating, and it’s clear he isn’t the player I thought he might be. Again, trading up for this guy and passing on Jackson, who turned out to be an 81, makes this the worst move of the draft for me by far. Pick 4(13): Eric Legaux, Pittsburgh Rating: 81 overall, superstar development Analysis: A home run pick, instantly compensating for the loss of TE Brandon Myers. Legaux has great size (6’6/262), 80 SPD, 89 ACC, 80 STR, 94 JMP, 70 AWR, 84 CTH, 89 CIT, 80 RTE, 75 SPC, 79 ELU. I couldn’t be happier with this pick, and I’d be shocked if he isn’t a candidate for rookie of the year. Some of the guys I passed on: CB Angel Martinez (Pats) – 82: Still like Green more, but it makes his value at 6 seem unjustified TE Mohammad Sellers (Packers) – 77: Went right after Legaux, but clearly not as good. Khamari Jackson (Colts) – 81: Passed on him for Colvin and Humphry. I definitely regret this big time. Jaqwaylin Brown (Titans) – 81: Don’t like him more than Green though, but he went in the 3rd round and would’ve been much better value. Grade: B- I filled a huge need in Legaux, secured a playmaker in the secondary, but failed to get my pass rushing OLB. I like the move to trade down in the 1st, but I clearly made a mistake with Colvin.
