IrishBearcat I'm already going to be fighting for some top recruits with you and Oregon State. I've got a full season of dogfights left.

Colorado is after 2 game changing RB's both 5 star prospects, but i am up against TCU, Texas, LSU just to name a few.....
so we shall see what we see
Need some firepower on Offense, but have a lot of 4 star linemen in the recruiting crosshairs.
i am expecting some to instant commit to other colleges, this will let me know who i need to focus on in week two.

Bruins land running back, Rondell Brown. When we saw Brown play their instate rival he just amazed us. His breakaway speed and his agility had us drooling. But he won't be starting since we already have young backs but we look forward to using him in a couple of formation subs.

I saw that. I will be be very important that each of us pick and chose our battles wisely. My main focus was not to spend myself so thin because there were a lot of prospects interested in me.

Excited for the battles. I've already nabbed my first recruits.

Only will have offensive tackles returning for next season so this was a bigtime commitment that fufilled a position of need with a quality body.

Any insight on what his ratings were like and how was he ranked as a runningback? (Stars & position ranking?)

He was a 4 star back, and the 13th ranked back. His speed was at a B+ while his acceleration and agility was sitting at a B. He will totally be getting a redshirt.

Nice get to hit the ground running with this class! What are some of his key attributes and will he be more of a blocking, receiving, or balanced TE?

Hopefully recruits can hold on until two weeks from now, next home game. Some of the recruits are teetering on the edge, hope they fall my way. Next week i'll have a couple of big signings or a couple of lost recruits, it's that close on a few.

Very happy the random phone call got the deep 6 on the next version, so aggravating the topic you skip somehow finds its way back in same phone call.

Anyhow some good news for the BUFFs this week:

Big signing; not because of the player, but the impact on next years recruiting, and fills one of the biggest needs on team.

With the signing of 2 star guard (instant commit) John Blalock out of Daphne, AL 6-4 275, Colorado locks up Alabama as another pipeline state

Best Attributes: STR, PBL, RBL, STM - C

Big time commitments at the offensive line for Cal. Both Hemphill and Butler are balanced offensive lineman ranked in the ESPNU150 but each will excel in run blocking just a tad better. Perfect fit for the California offensive scheme. :)

Landed two more offensive tackles. One after battling for his services with iBleedOrange247 and another solid :3star: from Iowa. Offensive line looks vastly improved. :D

A few commits this week for Oregon, finally getting some steam going on the trail...

#9 SS George Moss out of Calgary, Canada. Very good tackler and excellent speed, should be a big help in run support. He wont need to start right away so he should have time to marinate and develop into a solid part of our defense. Battled with Iowa to get him.

#7 FS Joe Robinson out of South Gate, California. Probably doesn't get an offer if we don't have a need ,but he has okay speed and can cover acceptably. He will definitely redshirt and we hope to grab somebody to jump him in the next class.

#16 TE Ryan Perry out of Santa Cruz, California. at 6'3 242 he provides a nice sized target out there, he is pretty balanced and will be a solid TE but probably not a star.

ASU signs JUCO SOPH DT James Woods. At 6'2 301 pounds Woods should provide good depth at DT in ASU new 3-3-5 stack look. Woods brings to the table a solid set of skills as well as C+ power moves. C BSH

Sounds like a nice guy to plug in at NT for the 3-3-5 look. He'll eat up a lot of space at 301 pounds.

ASU signs 3 Star TE Derrick Shelton @ 6'1 218 Shelton is undersized to be a fulltime TE however at ASU he will fill the H back role. Both a TE and Fb combo of a player. With C speed and C run block he hits into this scheme with near perfection. He also brings C catch and B- impact block. Expect to see Shelton on the field early as ASU graduates both of its TE this season

Three solid additions have been added to this years class as Quack Attack is reporting the verbal commitment of three players. :4stars: HB Justin Johnson out of Lynwood, California. The highest rated recruit of the class so far, he is a smaller back at 178 pounds but has nice speed and can elude and use his vision to make plays, big things are planned for him. Adding some size to the defense is :3stars: OLB Tony Gonzales out of Idaho. There are some concerns about the level of competition he has played against but he has a solid 5'11 230 pound frame and has shown the abilty to tackle well and the staff hopes he can add some meanness to the defense. Rounding out this group is :3stars: Guard Scott Wheldon out of Waianae, Hawaii. Hes a very good run blocker and has the speed and acceleration to really lay some people out on pulls, the staff likes him and he fills a need.

UPDATED recruiting class. Nabbed my first :5stars: who looks like a QB who will be a statue. He has a cannon, let's hope he lives up to his ranking and his some monster accuracy.

Landed the #1 TE in the country at a position of need. Battled it out with iBleedOrange247 and he ultimately made the best choice. :)

Added a Punter who has B speed and a powerful leg. Added a fullback who will be okay, better than a walk-on I suppose.

Liking this class. It's not flashy but gives a huge boost to the offensive line and fills positions of need.

Despite being a highly prestigious program, my pitches aren't too great. I think I went after too many blue chippers and bit off more than I could chew. I nailed a couple big recruits, but am now scrambling to get a decent size class. Here is who I've signed the last 2 weeks.

:5stars: DE Lee Stephens (Dunwoody, GA). Outstanding strength and block shed, but needs to work on his explosiveness in order to be successful at the next level.

:4stars:DT Mike Sparks (Brea, CA). Very good strength but a bit undersized and needs to work on his pass rushing moves and ability to shed blocks.

:4stars:CB Andre Moore (La Crosse, WI). The most complete player I've gotten so far. Good speed, acc, press, and coverage skills.

Colorado grabbed the #96 overall and #11 DE from Kearny, NJ
Now we have the other end to our 3-4 to go with last years recruit that has allready racked up 4.5 sacks over 7 games. Hopefully this will cause the disruption in the backfield the DC has been looking for. He has good speed and acceleration, but has added dimension of the bull rush because of his strength.

Next week we should have a big playmaker on offense signed.

Week 10 the Buffs sign T Patrick Moore 6'6" 306 lbs JUCO (SO) out of San Antonio, TX. He is a pass blocking specialist with very good ACC, PBF and PBS. Another big signing for the weakest part of the team.

But all the Hoopla was over the 3rd piece to the triplet puzzle. Last year was the big signing of the :4stars: quarterback (that went down in wk 1 for the year:(), signed the all star :5stars: HB last week, but this wk the :5stars: ATH that blows the lid off the Defensive coverage signs from Pueblo West,CO Travis Cooper 6'1" 190 lbs. This guy has SPD & ACC like the rocket and missile from back in the old glory days of ND (long gone days, sorry IB and Peench).

With the future signings of the OL this year and the weapons allready signed at the impact positions on offense look for Colorado to make some noise on the scoreboard, if nothing else the DC are going to have a hard time containing all the firepower of the BUFFs next year.[/quote]
