The Washington Huskies are interested in recruiting for a future base defense transition from 4-3 to 3-4. Can others shed some light on best practices, perhaps even personal experiences with this type of program change.

Excellent, I think you have a future in coaching or coordinator of some sort.

What're you looking for? What types of MLBs/OLBs/D-linemen to recruit?

DE must weigh 275+. OLB need to be able to pass rush. Secondary should be better in zone than man since majority of the schemes are zone blitzes.

I've always been a fan of the 3-4, but seeing as zone defense was so poor last year, I stuck with the base 4-3. As I am doing fairly well playing zone this year, this is my chance to make the transition.
