    Recruiting slider tests

I just made it through my 1st season of recruiting testing. I used Michigan (duh!) who's a 6*. I had 3 needs I think and I could sign 13 guys. I'm using All American recruiting.

It was really tough (compared to previous games). Over half of the guys I spent max time on every week signed elsewhere. Here is my in season class:

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
    OVR Caliber Pos
    5 :5stars: SS(#1)
    21 :5stars: T(#2)
    54 :4stars: FB(#1)
    82 :4stars: MLB(#4)
    97 :4stars: CB(#5)JUCO(JR)
    100 :4stars: ATH(#5)
    139 :4stars: TE(#6)
    210 :4stars: DT(#21)
    641 :3stars: T(#40)
    719 :3stars: T(#44)JUCO(JR)
    904 :3stars: DT(#65)JUCO(JR)
    1022 :3stars: CB(#78)

This gave me the #7 class (so far) and they look like this:

    Rank Team :5stars: :4stars: :3stars: :2stars:
    1 ND(Did I need to say it Dat?) 3 7 3
    2 Tex 3 6 4
    3 aOSU 4 4 4
    4 Georgia 2 7 2 1
    5 TTU 0 6 11 2
    6 Rutgers 0 4 16!!!!!
    7 Mich 2 6 4

The CPU doesn't fuck around when it comes to signing guys. Only 7 of the top 150 guys wasn't signed by the end of the regular season.

The offseason guys added were ranked #8, 18, 28, 38,etc. Hopefully this means no more 90OVR #1 guys added like in last year's game.

I simulated a season only doing recruiting with Purdue. I had it on Heisman, and it was murder. They are only a 3* but have only 1 need the first year. I began my year with about 12 guys on my board, a few 4* but mostly 3*.

After pumping max time into a lot of the guys, I was only able to sign one 4*, and three 3* players. Just 4 total, including the offseason. I know none of us have 3* teams, but I don't think Heisman is the way to go with recruiting!

In the offseason, I had 2 of the 3 :5stars: that were added interested in me. 1 got signed away in the week1 and I couldn't sign the other guy either after 5 weeks (could've even crack his top 4 and finished 6th) even though I had a X2 1 week for him. I was able to sign another 4* and 3* in the offseason recruiting.

Here's my class. I like how the ratings are, but I'm not sure what these guys would look like as SRs. It definitely looks like the days of FR coming in, starting and being studs is a thing of the past (which I think is a good thing).

So far so good on Hiesman, very challenging.

    - My 3* NC State team is doing it's best to get their share of 3*, most of the 4* guys I don't have a chance with... oh and Duke has destroyed me in recruiting, so far they'ev stolen 2 MLBs we both went after.

    - My 2* SMU team with worse pitches then NC State, is doing a lot better at getting 3* players... but no luck with four (Yes recruiting as a Texas, California, Florida and Ohio school is gong to be a lot easier, basically add a 1* and a half to your prestige and thats about where you're going to recruit like)

    - My 1* Utah State... yeah, they are definitely recruiting like a 1* in the barren desert of recruit land.

Heisman may be to hard, but IF promises are allowed, we must go heisman. Basically after everyone's school rating go up, and all the promises are unlocked, it will be god awful easy to recruit even against heisman,

I agree with pyscho. Has anyone tried recruiting with USC or Texas or Florida? I bet they will be able to get ALOT of guys on AA slider. Especially in the pipelines.

When I ran a test on heisman using Texas I only got 4 out of 18 recruits and 80% of the top 100 was committed by week 7, which is anything but realistic. On AA with Penn St in a test OD it was a struggle to pull in a top 20 class.

I think AA is the way to go personally, on heisman recruiting may be pointless by week 8 or 9.

    Yep

I used Texas on AA and got 2 5 stars, but I bet in good Texas years I could get 4.

The problem is if all of us get 3-4 five stars we are basically taking all of them since the 5 star numbers are down in NCAA 11.

I don't think it is going to be the same as in the past, ie hey I want that guy, so I'm going to sign him.

I just finished week 7 of season 2 of my AA recruiting dynasty and this week I just lost 7 guys from my board, including 6 guys that I've spent time on every single week of the season and 1 of the 2 5* recruits that I went after. While I lost some to the likes of aOSU and ND, I also lost out to Wisconsin, Pitt, and freakin' MSU. I also have given up 2 soft commits to freakin' Purdue and MFing Houston. With Houston's guys, I've spent an hour every week and I've recruited against them hardcore as the ratings are usually A/A+ for me vs. B-C for Houston, but I still haven't been able to get this 3* kid to choose Michigan or Houston.

I just simmed 3 examples of what happens on heisman recruiting.

Example 1-by the end of week 7 100% of the top 100 commited.
Example 2-by the end of week 7 96 out of the top 100 commited.
Example 3-by the end of week 7 98 out of the top 100 commited.

In each of these cases, the top 250 had about 80-90% commitments as well. I don't believe that is realistic or that it would be all that interesting having no meaningful recruiting battles after midseason. Also, in my testing it is very difficult to sign a guy in 6 weeks as a user unless you nab an insta-commit, which makes it unlikely that a user would be competitive on the big time recruits with the CPU. As I mentioned before, when I tested heisman using Texas I was only able to land commitments from 4 out of 18 players I started with on my board.

Coincidentally we both posted at the same time and they're both about week 7 recruiting. Here's another number. After week 7 of season 2 of my AA recruiting dynasty, 24 of the top 100 were still unsigned.

Through 7 weeks, I have only been able to ink 2 recruits.
