Red Raider Weekly Folks, the inauguaral season of the Crimson Universiy Red Raiders and boy are we excited. The Red Raiders are led by Titus Young at half-back, Augustus Swift at Flanker, and Christopher Glide at the helm. After exchanging their 1st two possessions, the Wildcats and the Red Raiders got the opening day jitters out of their system. With 1:43 left in the 1st quarter, 5 touchdows were scored between both teams. Within a 30 second span, 3 consecutive plays lead to 21 points with the plays averaging 70 yards or more. One of the highlights was a 84 yard kick return by Augustus swift. The first quarter ended with the Red Raiders on top 21-14. Both teams scored one touch-down in each of the remaining quarters with a final score of 42-35. The Red Raiders have a long way to go on defense. Top returning player CB Glove cannot do it all by himself. Late in the game, the Red Raiders were hit with an injury to a top player. Titus Young is out for two weeks with a finger injury. Back-up running back Smooth will welcome the challenge of getting carries and making a impact. The Red Raiders also got 4 committments for quality high school players who are looking to possibly register in the Spring to get a head start on practicing.
