    PROJECTED BATTING ORDER:

    1. LF Carl Crawford
    2. 2B Dustin Pedroia
    3. 1B Adrian Gonzalez
    4. 3B Kevin Youkilis
    5. DH David Ortiz
    6. RF J.D. Drew
    7. C Jarrod Saltalamacchia
    - Captain Jason Varitek will still get his starts, but Salty bring a little more pop to the plate.
    8. SS Marco Scutaro
    - Will have to hold off Jed Lowrie for the starting job. Could become expendable if Lowrie asserts himself at the plate.
    9. CF Jacoby Ellsbury
    - Looking for a bounce back year after a 2010 season filled with injuries.

    PRESS RELEASE: 3.13.11
SOX OPEN SPRING TRAINING AGAINST PHILLIES

Fort Myers, Fla. - The Boston Red Sox will open spring training with a 2nd round tournament match against the NL favorite Phillies on Monday. The manager expects to name a strong starting lineup for the game, with lefty ace Jon Lester slated for the start. While the Sox would like to win the tournament, it is more important for the players to get in some much needed at-bats after the harsh New England winter. Both Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez will figure to make their debuts for Boston in the game.
