    REMINDER ABOUT TRADES

Wanted to post a friendly warning from your neighborhood cap designer.

PLEASE keep in mind that when you trade players, if you do not get a player from that position in return, your depth charts are automatically adjusted and contracts can go up as a result! Please make absolutely sure that your cap can handle the changes in the depth chart as well as the new players coming in!

If you have any questions about this, please ask a board member or myself. I'd rather hear what the trade is and help an owner make sure that they won't have cap issues than see a team have to cut players to stay under cap.

    Another reminder about trades:

Cap hits are figured on bonuses sent versus bonuses received. The team that has the bigger bonus involved in the trade takes the difference as a hit.

To figure a possible cap hit, take the players being sent. Take JUST their bonus and multiply that by their modifier. Add those values together to get the total cap hit sent. Whichever team's bonus is higher takes the difference between the two as a cap hit.

Figure this in as well as depth chart adjustments when doing trades! Don't want teams to go into cap hell as a result of not planning for these kind of changes!
