    Kansas Team Preview

    Offense
Kansas will start Senior Joe Webb at QB this season, but Mike Cummings and Brock Berglund also saw time last season. With James Sims gone for the NFL, Kansas will split carries between Darrian Miller and Anthony Pierson. Kansas does not have much depth at WR this year, so Webb may have a tough time finding open receivers. The O-Line is decent and will be led by 90-overall C Tom Mabry. The offense took a hit with a lot of backs and receivers leaving, but they still should have a solid year.

    Defense
The Kansas defense has improved from last season and will be led by Senior Darius Willis. Willis led the nation the last 2 season in tackles and has 8 career interceptions and 5 forced fumbles. Huldon Tharp and Scott Mestan are very good at the OLB position and Kansas's 4-3 should work very well. The secondary needs work but junior Keston Terry is primed for a good season.

    Special Teams
Kansas returns their kicker and punter, but lost their returner in James Sims. Kansas expects junior WR Dexter McDonald to return kicks and punts.

    2013 Miami Hurricanes

After losing their coach midway through the 2012 season the Miami Hurricanes were searching for a new leader and looking to make a splash, they did just that by securing Coach Matt Ingram from The University of Texas who was coming off leading his team to a Big 12 Championship victory and two consecutive BCS bowl appearances. The College Football world was stunned, but Coach Ingram said he wanted the challenge of rebuilding this team and that he always had a soft spot for the Canes as he grew up during their run in the 80s. The details of his contract were not made public but its rumored to be around 1 mil/year.

"The cupboard seems a little bare, especially compared to the kids I had at Texas but there is a ton of potential here with almost as many underclassman as there are upperclassman. This is a young squad and we can make it work. With the past two BCS champions coming from Florida and Florida State we obviously have some ground to make up to be able to compete with those guys."

Lets look at the actual roster itself.

    Offense:

QB Ryan Williams will have the reins as he beat out the athletic Stephen Morris in spring with his much more accurate passes, but expect to see some packages for Morris as well. The Smash n Dash combination of Lamar Miller and Mike James are gone, but Eduardo Clements is more than capable of helping fill those shoes, he will have help from the shifty Darion Hall and bruising 236 pound RS FR A.J. McDaniel. Maurice Hagens will lead block for the ground. At wideout there aren't any Reggie Wayne's out there but Joshua Adams and Allen Hurns provide nice targets and should catch a fair amount of balls. Asante Cleveland and Clive Walford will handle the TE duties and Coach Ingram says they will be targeted just as often as the wideouts. Seantrel Henderson and Malcolm Bunche anchor the line that has solid starters but provides some concerns depth wise, an injury there could be a disaster for the Hurricanes. This offense is solid but will need to play above their rankings with no true stars.

    Defense:

Shayon Green and Anthony Chickillo are at the defense end spots, both are bigger ends above 250, while inside 300+ pounders Darius Smith and Curtis Porter will hold down the staring jobs. The staff is really excited about the size up front. LOLB Brandon Henderson leads the LB corps coming off a freshman All American season. Jimmy Gains will play in the MLB spot and Kelvin Cain will be on the weakside LB spot. The group is small but fast, hopefully the lineman can free them up to make plays. The CB's are kind of short but they have the speed to match up with almost any WR corps. Keion Payne and Thomas Finnie will start with Dallas Crawford seeing time at Nickle. Seniors Kacy Rodgers and Alonzo Highsmith will play at the safety positions. The defense is a bit undersized for Coach Ingram's liking but he hopes to rectify that in this coming class.

    Special Teams:

Dalton Botts will handle all the kicking duties, HB's Eduardo Clements and Darion Hall will handle KR/PR duties, and Seantrel Henderson will be the longsnapper.
