I like covering the drafts in game- mainly focusing on the top 10 projected and the draft storylines that pop up. Kind of try to "bring them to life" :D Enjoy! The things I sprinkle in might not be necessarily "true", but they are based on the draft story lines that you see on the console.

    Hale Gifted with Father's Speed
    [IMG]

Georgia SS Dysean Hale is the son of a former gold medalist in the 100m and 200m, and he looks just as fast. Hale's father, Jonathan Hale, was a gold medalist in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Hale, is projected to be a late first or early second round pick in the draft, and his elite speed could be his ticket to the first round. Along with great speed, Hale has near perfect size for the position in the NFL at 6'2 and a sturdy 205 pounds. He has shown plenty of skill in coverage as well, and has been a huge part to Georgia's quick start this year. Many NCAA pundits are predicting Georgia to take the SEC, and of course Hale is a big reason why.

On top of his physical skills, it is a nod to his character that coaches chose Hale as the defensive captain this year.

R2C Draft Coverage: Linebackers Headline 2015 NFL Draft Class
If there is one position that is looking to be deep in this draft class, it is without a doubt the linebackers. We are going to take a look at the top ten (all positions included) in this piece, but be forewarned that five of the top ten play some sort of linebackers position. Teams like Jacksonville will be chomping at the bit come draft day as they might be able to address some OLB pass rushing needs through the draft. Make no mistake though! there is plenty of talent outside of the linebackers! So without further ado, let's take a look at the top ten this year!

    1) Jamal Bars - Cornerback - Florida State - 5'10 180
    [IMG]

Jamal is a phenomenal cornerback prospect, evident by the fact that many scouts think he is the best player in this draft. While he doesn't have the size to be a "prototype", everything else about his game supports that description. He is a smart player and understands the game well. Combine those smarts with great physical ability and you have the makings of the next great NFL CB.

    2) Demont Montgomery - LOLB - Nebraska - 6'0 236
    [IMG]

A true Cover 2 OLB, Demont seems like the ideal player a coach would want for a Tampa 2 style defense. He has been a tackling machine at Nebraska and a leader in every sense of the word. He has solid size for the position, but could use some polish in his pass rushing. That said, there is a reason he is projected this high. He has shown a great ability to stretch plays to the sideline, and has looked superb in coverage early in the season. At just 20 years old right now, Demont is very young as well.

    3) Tobi Ogbonna - ROLB - Texas - 6'2 238
    [IMG]
More of a run stopper than a pass rusher, Tobi might just be more suited for a MLB role in a 3-4 defense once he is playing on Sundays. Wherever he ends up playing whatever position, He is sure to be a playmaker. Hailing from the University of Texas, Ogbonna was a five star recruit out of high school and has lived in the spotlight down in Ausitn since day one. He has shown great maturity from the beginning and has as good a work ethic as any.

    4) Jarrick Anderson - MLB - Wisconsin - 6'1 239
    [IMG]

Just like Montgomery, Jarrick is a tackling machine. He had a big void to fill last year once Chris Borland departed for the NFL, but he has stepped right in and filled those shoes well. You can see a lot of Borlands instinctive game rubbed off onto Anderson. That said, Jarrick is a lot better athlete and many scouts believe he can be an impact player from the get go.

    5) Dior Burns - LOLB - Penn State - 6'4 242
    [IMG]
Coming in at 6'4 240, Burns has a lengthy but powerful frame that NFL scouts are absolutely drooling over. To make things even better, the kid is just another great one to come out of the assembly line that is "Linebacker U". Burns is a fierce player on the edge and has proven time and time again he can nearly take over a side of the field (or at least the run game) if left one on one.

    6) Brayden Coley - LT - Texas A&M - 6'4 315
    [IMG]
If Penn State is Linebacker U, Texas A&M is starting to turn into Left Tackle U. Joeckel, Matthews, and now Coley is next in the great line of recent A&M tackles. Coley has shown great footwork and quickness for a guy his size. He is probably as safe a pick as there is in this draft, as he should be a good LT for years in the NFL. It also helps he is protecting an NFL QB...

    7) Carter Woods - QB - Texas A&M - 6'3 221
    [IMG]
Carter Woods has absolutely exploded onto the scene, filling the shoes left by Johnny Football better than anyone could have imagined. While Woods is more of a pocket passer than Manziel was, his arm is a site to see when he is dialed in. In his first four games this season, he hasn't finished a game with anything less than a 75% completion percentage. While many point to this as a "system" statistic, seeing it in person is impressive.

    8) Jerome Schofield - DT - Oklahoma - 6'4 275
    [IMG]

Schofield has been terrorizing the Big 12 for years, and NFL scouts have been waiting for a chance to draft this feisty defensive tackle out of Oklahoma. He is a very technical pass rusher and shows a great understanding of what to do and when. On top of that, he just has a nose for the ball as he seems to be in on every tackle.

    9) Antwaun Bullock - CB - UCLA - 6'1 190
    [IMG]

It is going to be very interesting to see who gets taken first: Bullock or Bars? While neither may go first overall, the first cornerback taken off the board will be a great story to see develop come draft day. Bullock has all the size that scouts wish Bars did, but there is just something about Bars' game that scouts can't get over. The comparison is going to be there all year long- as both are very, very similarly skilled.

    10) T.J. Baca - ROLB - Auburn - 6'3 244
    [IMG]
When scouts look at TJ, the first thing that comes to mind is "blue collar". Baca has shown a knack for just plain getting after it on the field and he is relentless in his pursuit of the QB every snap. He has progressed a lot the past couple years and continues to rise on scout's boards- how will he climb?

Packers have been scouting Brayden Coley as Aaron Rodgers is the most sacked QB in the league I believe. In DIRE need of an elite pass blocker. Hoping he falls to them or they are able to trade up come time to draft.

    Week 7 Update
Catch up on some of the latest draft headlines in our league!

    Umodu Hurdling Up Draft Boards
    [IMG]
USC RB Ify Umodu made one of the top plays of the year a week ago, hurdling a handful of Oregon State players to secure a late win for the Trojans in Corvallis. Umodu capped off a great day in which he ran for 180 yards on 22 carries, while also notching 3 TD's. Umodu is projected to be picked late in the second round, or possibly early third. At six foot and 199 pounds, he has great size and has shown big play ability this season.

ROLB TJ Baca Suspended For Season
    [IMG]
Auburn standout outside linebacker TJ Baca was suspended for the rest of the season by head coach Gus Malzahn. Malzahn pointed to Baca's constant absence from practice as the reason for the suspension. Baca has been a bit of a problem child for Malzahn, but the talent has always been there. No one close to TJ is sure what is next for him- scouts aren't sure they want anything to do with him either.

    McCain Stands Tall Against Schofield
    [IMG]

It isn't often a 3rd round pick outplays a top ten pick, but Auburn guard Neil McCain showed it can be done Saturday against Oklahoma. In a much anticipated out of conference match up for the Sooners and Tigers, Schofield was expected to be the difference. However, McCain would come up huge in the game as he would stonewall Schofield for all four quarters. Schofield did finish with 4 tackles and a fumble recovery, but McCain was certainly the victor on the day. Auburn also won the matchup 17-3. Prior to the game McCain was seen as an early third round pick, with Schofield projected for the top ten.

Penn State LOLB Dior Burns Out For Season
    [IMG]
Standout Penn State linebacker Dior Burns tore his groin Saturday, and will be out for the rest of the season. Burns was having a good year and seemed destined for the first round, and most coaches still think he will land there. Burns has show tenacity off the edge and this injury will likely just be a speed bump for the 6'4, lengthy linebacker.

    Kentrell Ray Snags 3 Picks
    [IMG]
Utah FS Kentrell Ray snagged three picks on Thursday night to cap off a great performance. Ray also defended two more passes while racking up 6 tackles. Ray has been a strong presence in the Utah 3-4 defense this year and is slowly moving up draft boards. A 4-5th round prediciton at the start of the year, Ray has creeped into the third in the latest mock drafts. At 5'11 he doesn't have prototypical size, but he has shown a great playmaking ability.
