The Vols take care of the Bruins in week 1 of the 2012 season. David Oku, the top contender in the Heisman race, had a very strong day. Oku carried the ball 19 times for 134 yards and had a 91 yard KR TD in Tennessee's 31-13 victory. Tennessee's top WR Nakeem Richardson had 2 receptions for 58 yards and a TD and the Vols QB Rozier 6 for 15 for 114 yards and a TD. The defense was outstanding day sacking the UCLA QB Brehaut 8 times and forced a critical fumble in their own redzone that gave Tennessee all the momentum. A 31-13 victory over a very solid UCLA squad gives Tennessee a ton of confidence heading into a pivotal 2012 season for the Vols and Coach Cimmy. Next week the Vols get a visit from the Big East's Lousiville Cardinals.

Tennessee would fight back to win in this week 2 match up. What has been a week of upsets, Vol Nation began to believe it was their turn to fall as they fell in a 21-7 hole to the Cardinals of Louisville. Starting QB Rozier threw 3 interceptions during his time under center, but he would not last for the second half. Back up QB Jackson would come in and do enough to lead the Vols to victory. Jackson had a 6 for 12 day with 90 yards 1 TD and an interception of his own. WR Nakeem Richardson would be his go to target. Richardson managed 7 receptions for 104 yards and a TD. Before going into the half, the Vols would strike twice quickly. This 99 yard TD run by Heisman hopeful David Oku would give Tennessee all the momentum...

David Oku would have a record night as he managed 211 yards and 4 touchdowns in his 22 carries he saw in the first 3 quarters of play. The 2nd string would come in and finish the job as Tennessee moves to 2-0 as they prepare for their first road game of the season as they travel to Chapel Hill to take on the Tarheels of North Carolina.

The Vols move to 3-0 after a statment victory over the #13 Tarheels in Chapel Hill. Heisman Hopeful HB David Oku would suffer a game ending injury in the 2nd that would force him to miss the rest of the game, but not season ending. He did manage to score 2 TDs, a rushing and kick return TD. The Tennessee Defense did the job forcing 3 turnovers and stopping the Tarheels on 5 fourth down attempts. Tennessee prepares to ride this momentum back to Knoxville as bitter SEC Rival Florida comes to Neyland in a game where the Vols look to seek revenge.
