Steven Amber was having a Rookie of the Year type season until a blatant cheap shot sidelined him for 5 games with broken ribs. The Packers offense struggled some as they missed their explosive playmaker. Steven Amber returned and so did the high flying offense. On the Lions first play of the game, Clay Matthews forced a fumble that Green Bay recovered. Rodgers, anxious to see if there was rust on the rookie, found Amber over the middle for a 30 yard score and Green Bay would never look back. On the Lions next possession, Stafford would be picked off but the Lions defense holds and forces a Crosby 32 yard field goal. Detroit wouldn't quit, as Chandler would run it in from 6 yards out to end the first quarter scoring with Green Bay holding a 10-7 lead.

The second quarter saw explosive play after explosive play. Once again, Rodgers sat under center and read blitz leaving man to man coverage. He gave a wink to Amber and Steven did the rest. Easily beating his man and Rodgers laid a perfect pass in for the 67 yard pass. The Lions would mount their own drive but Clay Matthews would pick off a pass and then zig zag through defenders 90 yards for the score to put Green Bay up 24-7. The Lions would still fight back and Stafford would hit Young over the middle for 40 yards to pull within 10. With just under a minute to go, the Lions brought the house. Rodgers just through the ball in the air hoping his speedy rookie would get there and he did for a 61 yard score. However, the Pack left too much time on the clock and the Lions would capitalize. Titus Young once again would get open, this time from 12 yards with 13 seconds left in the half. Halftime score was 31-21, Packers.

The Packers received the kickoff to start the third. With so much of the attention now on Amber, Greg Jennings was left along in single covergage. A simple hitch route, mix in a broken tackle, and Jennings stops in the endzone for a 71 yard score, 38-21. Defensive halftime adjustments by the Packers work as they held the Lions scoreless in the second half. Mason Crosby's 47 yard FG in the 4th rounded out the scoring. Green Bay 41 Lions 21.
