This is the journey of MLB/HB Xander McCrater. Standing at 5ā€™11 230 pounds, it is McCraters goal to play at a big time time college football program. He will have a tough road ahead of him though because he plays in South Florida, one of the most talent rich areas in all of the country.
McCrater enters his senior year at Plantation High School, the home of the Colonels. I have accurately recreated 10 other local teams and he will face the gauntlet that is South Florida and hope to get noticed by his dream school. We will follow his journey from HS to College and beyond. He starts out with an official Sparq Combine Rating of 79.00

His 3 desired schools starting out are:

    1. Clemson Tigers

Week 1 vs Nova High School Titans

    512A0001_1_JPEG_SCREENSHOT_GqJ.jpg

The Colonels were able to come away with a 20-10 victory in their season opener against The Nova Titans. On the offensive side of the ball McCrater had a good day with 11 Carries for 103 Yards and a touchdown which iced the game late in the 4th quarter. On the defensive side of the ball he only had two tackles, but he was involved on a few plays and jarred some balls lose from TE's and WR's coming across the middle.

After the game McCrater was seen meeting with scouts from FIU and Troy, and it is reported that both are interested in him and will be watching his progress closely.

Week 2 @ Cooper City High School Cowboys

    week 2.jpg

The Colonels dominated The Cooper City Cowboys Friday night with a 28-7 victory in Cooper City, despite being shut down on the ground. It was a tough day for McCrater who was held to 10 yards on 9 carries for the entire game, he found other ways to contribute offensively though and had 5 receptions for 96 yards as well as a receiving touchdown. He truly showed his value as an asset catching the ball out of the backfield.

Defensively McCrater was alot more involved than he was in the first game, racking up 6 tackles as well as a fumble recovery for a touchdown. On the fumble recovery he blasted through the left guard and was johhny on the spot when the ball hit the ground.

It has been reported that McCrater has received calls from Southern Miss for his LB play, they run a 3-3-5 and could use an athletic, smart player like McCrater in the middle of the field. Also USF has its eye on McCrater at the HB spot, a source close to McCrater said "Xander feels like he could excel in the multiple offense that USF runs, he can do a little bit of everything and if they offered they would be seriously considered."

Week 3 @ Boyd Anderson High School Cobras

    week 3.jpg

Two 2-0 teams met at Cobra field Friday Night to see who was all hype and who had some substance. The Colonels came out on top over the Boyd Anderson Cobras 16-10, both sides played well and it was a hard fought game to the very end. Shifting the focus to Xander McCrater, offensively he had another rough game with only 15 yards on the ground, he did have 4 receptions for 36 yards though. Not the
most impressive stats if he is trying to become a division 1 star.

Defensively the day was much better for Xander as he compiled 8 tackles and 1 sack, with two of those tackles being behind the line of scrimmage. It appears as if McCrater wants to make it to the next level it will be on the defensive side of the ball.

Rivals is reporting that Miss St is now in the hunt for Xander's services on the defensive side of the ball.

    McCrater nabs first Offer!!

This school is very high on McCrater and has offered him a scholarship at both MLB and HB, they simply want him on their team and have been pushing him hard for a commitment. McCrater confirmed the offer but says "Im just not ready to commit yet, they are a great school and close to home so they are definitely a player right now."

Rivals reports that this is the only offer McCrater has at the moment but Troy may be close to offering.

    Week 4 vs McArthur Mustangs

    INT.jpg

The Colonels continued thier undefeated ways and dominated the McArthur Mustangs of Hollywood Hills. McCrater had byfar his best day on the ground with 10 carries for 120 yards and a TD while also continuing to showcase his versatility with 5 receptions for 49 yards and 1 touchdown. McCrater said after the game that it was important for him to perform well in this game because he was starting to have doubts about his abilities on that side of the ball and he put a real focus on getting it done.

Defensively the ship was steady as it goes and he continues to show that he can be a vital part of a defense with 6 tackles and 1 interception on the day, as well as a few pass break ups. One thing he needs to improve on is finishing at the quarterback, there were many times when he would get there just a second late and it cost a sack or two.

After the game McCrater's father said that Southern Miss, Troy, and USF have all offered him scholarships after his performance. A few of the big boys have come sniffing around as well as now The Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss have contacted McCrater. McCrater's aunt is a UGA alum so some believe they may have a leg in.

    Week 5 @ St.Thomas Aquinas Raiders

    week 5.jpg

The Colonels faced arguably the best team in the nation in the Saint Thomas Aquinas, division 1 talent producer extraordinaire. The Colonels took them down to the wire but were unable to come away with the win. A last second TD by St.Thomas gave them the 21-14 victory. The Colonel Coach said after the game that, he was proud of his team for sticking with a team like this and it says a ton about their talent that they took them down to the wire.

McCrater had 9 carries for 46 yards and 1 TD which came late to tie the game at 14-14, he also had 5 receptions for 68 yards. Defensively, McCrater had 3 tackles but he was more involved than the stat line would lead to believe.

Rivals.com has confirmed that West Virginia is interested at HB and UCF is intersted at MLB.

    Mid-Season Recruiting Picture Update:

MLB: So far McCrater has two offers but they arent really schools he is interested in anymore, especially since some of the bigger names have come sniffing around.

    1. Miami - 56%
    2. Clemson 66%
    3. Okie State 64%
    4. UCF 92%
    5. Ole Miss 86%
    6. Miss St 86%
    7. Southern Miss Offered
    8. Florida International Offered

HB: He has garnered alot more interest on this side of the ball surprisingly, his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield is quite attractive to some of these teams. Georgia is a surprise contender and if they offer he will most likely accept.

    2. Miami 82 %
    3. Clemson 97%
    4. West Virginia 93%
    5. Okie State 93%

Week 6 Vs Fort Lauderdale Flying L's

    week 6.jpg

An easy 35-10 win for the Colonels against the Fort Lauderdale High School Flying L's. Ingram got 7 touches on offense and squeezed a touchdown out of it and about 70 yards. He remains baffled as to why he isnt getting the ball more, but as long as the victories keep coming he cant complain too much.

Defensively he made an impact with 5 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack. Florida State is now interested in him as a MLB, and he is excited about the new uniform combinations that they are coming out with. Texas inquired about his skills at HB but he has shown some resignation about their win total last season.

    Week 7 vs Dillard Panthers

    week 7.jpg

In a close 14-7 overtime victory over the Dillard Panthers McCrater finally played a bigger role. On offense he got 15 carries for 82 yards as well as 4 catches for 16 yards. He was able to find some space on the ground and made the big plays when they needed them, specifically to get them into scoring position.

On defense McCrater was clutch with 7 tackles throughout the game, but the real highlight came on the final 2 plays of overtime. The Colonels already scored to go up 14-7 and Dillard needed to score to keep the game going. On 3rd and 4 Xander stuffed a QB scramble to force 4th and 2, and then on the very next play he made the tackle to hold up the ball carrier and end the game!

After the game, both The Miami Hurricanes and Georgia Bulldogs offered scholarships at the HB position.

Week 8 @ Miami Northwestern Bulls

    week 8.jpg

The Colonels suffered thier second loss of the year to the Miami Northwestern Bulls. The Colonels offense was kept out of the endzone and star HB Xander McCrater was rendered ineffectual. He was kept to 5 rushes for only 12 yards and 4 receptions for 26 yards. The Northwestern defense was just faster and stronger than any they have faced the entire season.

On defense, The Colonels gave up too many big plays and could not rebound from them. McCrater had 3 tackles, 1 TFL and a sack. A decent performance but not good enough to help his team to the victory.

After the game Georgia Tech and Auburn offered at MLB. He is especially interested in Auburn who is coming off a National title not too long ago.

Week 9 @ Deerfield Beach Bucks

    Week 9.jpg

The Colonels rebounded pretty well after their recent loss and beatdown the Deerfield Beach Bucks 35-0. McCrater had one of his best games of the year with 15 Carries for 82 yards and 1 TD, as well as 1 reception for 18 yards. The offense pretty much moved at will and it had a lot to do with his efforts.

Defensively the Colonels played lights out and McCrater racked up 6 tackles, 3 TFL and 1 sack, as well as breaking up a few passes. It was really a great team effort all around and they are clicking on all cylinders headed into the season finale against Hated Rival South Plantation.

After this game offers seemed to flood in as Okie State offered at MLB and LSU, Florida, and Texas offered at Halfback.

Big news, Xander McCrater is now rated in the ESPNU 150 at the RB position and is a :4stars: Recruit at HB and a :3stars: Recruit at MLB
