    Summary

The sophmore opened the season on a very high note Saturday night.Wanting to get off on the right foot. When asked why he was so calm he replied "Coming off a big win vs UCF last year in Florida really motivated us to work extra hard this off-season." Rutgers looked to come up with every bit the confidence that they could compete vs the best in college football.By the end of the night they had accomplished the biggest win in Rutgers football history knocking off the ex champs and the current number one team in the nation.Coming right out and asserting the defense it aloud the team time to shake the goose bumps and settle in.The first quarter went back and forth with no one budging much. Then after a long drive int he second the Scarlet Knights managed to put a long drive together and score a touchdown.Following a huge pick they scored again to make it 14-0.Coming out of the half it got hard nosed again until Alabama scored itself to make it 14-7.But on just there 2nd play in the next drive Rutgers answered with a huge 65 yard touchdown to make force the lead to 14.From that point on the confidence of Rutgers held and they managed to beat Alabama. After the game Nick Saban was asked what he thought of the game?"First would like to commend those guys on a tremendous effort tonight they gave there all.""We came out flat footed and got hit in the mouth simple as that we need to get back to square one."
