very correct bigger intercooler for the win....but still not make much difference with a stock turbo.
my car is already a monster sleeper at 320HP.. i don't really want any more juice. I can barely get enough rubber on the road to hold it as it is. Sewell Saab body shop just called with revision estimate of $10,400. They found damage to the radiator and intercooler too... but that should be the final number and they've confirmed with State Farm that it's a go for fix still.
I have the future in mind. Glad it's getting fixed, man. Sometimes insurance companies can get real finicky when a car has a lot of damage like that. Speaking of the turbo, are they replacing that? They are pretty sensative to shock. If they are, make sure they are getting one that is either new, or properly refurbished. My buddy got his Evo back from a dealership and it ran like crap. When I pulled the intake system the turbo had about .090" in shaft play (runout). Not sure if the dealership did it themselves or what, but whoever rebuilt it didn't know what they were doing.
the miles are what saved me... right at 31,000. Shop said i was about $800 from being totaled. Engine and turbocharger are fine.
the kid was lucky he was not hurt... i hit driver side door. If his truck wasn't lifted a bit, he would have been toast. Thank god that wasn't the case, not sure how i would handle that situation emotionally.
Glad to hear your getting it fixed man...I just got a new car 2 months ago as well and when I heared you got into an accident with yours I got nervous with mine! Driving much more alert the passed couple weeks. On the side note...I believe all Pontiac's are garbage...my '97 Grand Prix got about 16 mpg...my Sentra is averaging 27-28 and about 32 highway.
The only pontiac I would ever even consider climbing into is an '06+ GTO. Although I do hear good things about the G8 line.
My new toy... going to 'VIP' this one out... its a fully loaded 2009 Lexus IS250... won't mess with the engine too much at first, only the exterior... I pick her up (hopefully) on Friday... I'll post some better pictures, with me in 'em, when she's safely in front of me... any Lexus drivers out there?.... and sorry for bumping such an old thread, only car one I can remember.
Lol @Jmustang1968 Nice car tho Jerz. I have been looking around lately, and I don't know why, at some cars. Found this baby on Cars.com today that may impress @RynoAid Link It has a bit more mileage on it than I'd like out of a used car, but for the price you can't beat it imo. I have just been starting to regret doing the whole lease deal...should have done this a year ago.
Oh... My father just got one of these a month ago. This isn't his car, but same thing, same color. His 2004 (?) Nissan Maxima wasn't going to pass inspection, it had 300k on it and the suspension was shot, so he needed to find something relatively quickly. He also wanted something that would save him on gas (drive 2 hours to work each way everyday) so he dropped down to a 4 cylinder. So far no problems and he loves the car...doesn't have the get up he is used too, so has found himself getting some stare's after merging into NY traffic.
Nice Merih.. I got a Lincoln LS finally which I've been wanting forever. 2000 Black LS with black rims. It will be my during college and before career car haha
I got this a few months ago. So far I'm happy with it. I had a Tundra with more horsepower but I like the luxury side of the avalanche a lot better so I'll take the lesser power for more features. race car is in the way too
Back from the dead. This has been an ongoing project, but I finally got it together this past October. Fun ride that is extremely unsuspecting. Daily driver during the summer and will be a drag strip whore pretty much every weekend. Have been down the track with it 3 times so far, ran a best of 11.88 @ 130mph. Need more seat time.
Took the 20s off the whip for the winter. Forgot what it was like to not cringe at potholes and curbs
For a FWD car that's pretty impressive, actually. Plus, it takes a good bit of skill to get those cars to hook up off the line and launch correctly. On top of the skill it takes to launch off the tree correctly. I'm excited to get back into a project. I have a few things in mind that look promising. Just have to find the right car for the right price.
I have only made 3 passes ever in the car. After I get some more seat time at the track this upcoming year, I see it hitting low 11's to high 10's. Best 60 ft so far has been a 1.91, and I still don't have my launch control setup as well as it needs to be. There is a lot left in it Jerzey, just look at the trap speed. Plus it is a full interior, full weight sedan. With me in it, it weighs about 2700.
