Do you have a build thread somewhere? I'd love to see what you put into her?

Is that a B or K series engine?

Drifter, I couldn't beat the deal I got on this chassis. Buddy of mine from PA had ran this poor thing into the ground. He picked it up at 50,000 miles and managed to crack 260,000 in just over 3 years time. It was to the point of barely running, but the body itself was in great shape. Plane ticket out and drive it back, and it was mine.

    Wow, nice.

I've come across a few cars with 250k+ miles that I could get fairly cheap. I intend to basically replace everything in whatever project I have anyway, so it's not a huge concern. However, it's tough finding a car that hasn't been tampered with. I've already been through projects where I've had to replace or rewire fuse boxes and harnesses because people are stupid and have no idea what they are splicing into. It's no fun...

Just a B-series. LS/VTEC setup. A little bit of a build thread. http://www.jdmcity.com/showthread.php?t=18734 Not a whole lot of detail there with some of the hard parts, as we have a few thieves around here.

I have a better parts list over on Honda-Tech. http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2989308

Love seeing boosted S2000's. There are definitely some weak parts stock, but the factory bottom ends have made well into the 500 range on E85.

    - Heavy
    - The year models in my price budget are quality nightmares, look like trash and drive like a yacht
    - Inferior engine technology
    - Everyone has one

Even though I dont like them, you can get an old fox body for cheap and make it fast for cheap. drop in a crate engine and hit the gas

Fox bodies are the bane of my existence. I've already built one for a friend, too. Plus, they fail just about every category I listed above.

they arent that heavy, and if you put in a crate engine thats new tech.

They are common, and they are ugly haha. I didnt like mustangs again until the 05 body style. they are just tough to beat $/performance

They are heavy for what they are. A crate engine would blow my budget. A new 4.6L would require a good overhaul in engine management/ drivetrain and a 5.0L is a sluggish internal cam that is one of the roughest driving engines I've ever been around (besides an aggressive 350 or Oldsmobile 455).

Ya, I dont know what your planned budget and performance goals are... you looking for a drag car or more auto cross?

I have been thinking of going a bit performance in the 68. Dropping in a crate engine and doing a suspension upgrade. That would be bad ass.

No desire to go old muscle? Would be expensive I suppose, but you could save a lot if you did a lot of the work yourself.

And while I respect some of the things you can get the japanese cars to do and their performance, I hate the way they sound, and for me, they are uncomfortable as hell to ride in or drive lol

Old muscle would almost certainty include a lot of body work, which I sort of want to avoid outside of minor things. And cars that are that old and in good condition are expensive.

In your case, you have a good 68 that you have had for a long time. I would crate engine, FI and look at a modern suspension conversion.

ya, the debate was rather to keep it more original, as I already have a performance vehicle. But making that fast too would be fun. Will be pricey for sure.

Even if I slimmed down some, I hated riding in them back in high school. There arent many japanese guys my height, riding around with my knee in the dash sucks

Recently purchased an 04 350z about 5/6 months ago. So far, I can't really complain about anything dealing with this car. It's always been my dream car since I was younger so to finally get one was awesome, especially at a young age. ;) Power is pretty exceptional. I'm currently sitting at about 305 HP, and about 315 Foot LB's of Torque.

Upgrades I have put on is wheels/tires, neons inside the front feet panels, and a cold air intake.

Decay, as a member of the Nissan family ('89 180sx) I'll just toss out a little advice. Never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, I mean NEVER consider neon lights, wheels, and a cold air intake "upgrades" or "mods". You will become the butt of many jokes very quickly. Those my friend are "ricer mods".

Clean car though. Any plans of slamming it?
