    S(2) Week 4 Summaries

It was a great game and the Cowboys would pull out a big upset. Samuel played the first half of this one until an injury occured that will put him out for 3 weeks. Samuels was 13-18 269yds and 2tds. It was a near perfect 1st half for him as he didnt turn the ball over either. Texas Tech would jump out to a 9-0 lead on a touchdown which Texas Tech missed the xp and a Fg and that was all the scoring done in the first quarter. The second quarter was huge for the Cowboys. They would score 21 in the second quarter. 2 on the arm of Samuels and one on a fumble return for a touchdown. Cowboys would punt and force the fumble and return it 22 yds with 0 tiime left on the clock taking a 21-12 lead into halftime where they got the word Samuels was gone for 3 weeks. Backup Miller would come in and play well in the second half leading the opening drive down the field and throw a 23yd td pass to give the Cowboys a 28-12 lead. Texas Tech would answer quickly scoring 14 unanswered when Miller threw his 1st pick of the game and the Cowboys lead would shrink to 28-26 with 2:09 left to go in the 3rd quarter. The Cowboys lost alot of these games last year but this is a new attitude this season. Wyoming would answer and answer big a nice time consuming drive capped off by a 1yd run by Alexander and Texas Tech would throw and INT which Wyoming turned into a 39yd fg making it a 38-26 lead. Texas Tech would score a td and make it a 38-33 lead and the onside kick was recovered by Wyoming and they would take a knee and conserve the victory.

Rice Notches First Win Of the Season.

Rice hangs on to win 41-31.

The Owls crippled by injuries looked like a great team on offense and a piss poor team on defense. The Owls had 2 100 rushers for the first time in T2's tenure at the school. Taylor Cook also looked good throwing for 317 yards and 2TDs and 1INT. The Owl offense was lead though by All-Star Sam Mcguffie. He averaged 8.4 yards on nearly 20 carries. and was able to grind out 120+ yards. To everyone's surprise TB Ross also exploded on the scene with 119 yards on 25 carries for about a 6.8 ypc. All that offense was too much for a talented So. Miss team to handle. The defense continues to look for a way to stop teams. Rice was shredded on the ground and in the air giving up two 65+yard TD runs.

The Blazers lost more than just the game against Tulsa. Jr QB David Isabelle is gone for the season to a broken collarbone. Backup QB Bryan Ellis would try to lead the team to the victory but this one would not come easy. The Blazers would get the ball back late in the game and drive down to the 3 yard line with 50 seconds left. The Blazers would run, pass and then run again a the clock ran out on them. Coach Indy, "This is a very upsetting game, it was in our hands, it was ours to win."
