Rams Win 45-13 Against Struggling Palmer, Cardinals
Last home opener in St. Louis a bittersweet one for fans, players

Rams fans celebrate their home opener in St. Louis for the last time.
Although the Rams are on their way to LA next season, the team gave its St. Louis fans a lot to celebrate at its final home opener in the city.

The Rams and Cardinals fought tough against eachother in the first half. Newly acquired starting running back Vick Ballard fumbled during the Ram's opening drive, and the Cardinals were able to capitalize and go up 7-0. The Rams battled back the rest of the quarter, however, and at halftime, they led the closely contested game 14-10.

The second half was a different matter.

Rams 1st round pick Tavon Austin returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown. After going up 21-10, the Rams never looked back.

New Cardinals QB Carson Palmer struggled in the second half, throwing 3 interceptions and fumbling once. DE Robert Quinn led the defensive onslaught against him, registering 2 sacks and a fumble recovery.

The Rams dominated the field position battle, and were able to score some rushing touchdowns and a field goal after securing the ball in Cardinals territory in nearly every one of their second-half drives.

All in all, the second half struggles of Carson Palmer and all of the turnovers he was responsible for led to the game becoming a blowout in favor of the home team.

After the game, Sam Bradford had this to say about the final home opener in St. Louis:

"This is the city that took me in when I was drafted," said Bradford. "There are some great fans here, and I will always look back fondly on my memories in St. Louis. It's unfortunate a deal couldn't be worked out to stay. I hope the fans here continue to cheer for us even when we move. We are still their team."

The Rams face a tough opponent in week 2 when they take on the Atlanta Falcons.

New Rams owner Mike Gates predicted the Falcons would win the Superbowl before he acquired the Rams franchise yesterday. When asked about picking against his own team, Gates had no comment.

Yeah...these things definitely aren't mandatory. Just do them when you can.

    Epic Battle
    Chiefs win 35-24

It was the battle of Pick 1 and Pick 2 in the 2013 NFL Draft.

It was a battle of 2 teams drafting Offensive Tackles in Round 1.

It was bad team 1 vs bad team 2

but it was still a battle

We kick off week 1 of the 2013 season with KC visiting the fierce but yet ugly jersey's/helmets of Jacksonville. This game was played before Jaguars acquired new owner Wayers, so it was a user v cpu situation. But none of that matters because not too many people were watching this game, not too much is even thought of in this game. Anyways, we kick off the season and this game started off exactly how people saw it.....boring. After both teams failing to do anything, it was Jacksonville who took the early lead with a great drive that was capped with a pass to Cecil Shorts, a curl route that made the Chiefs DB's look like absolute crap (partly due to sketchy user stick skills). Chiefs just weren't moving the ball at all in the first quarter and even into the 2nd quarter, the couple times Charles got the ball he made it worth it but they were trying to throw too much. Alex Smith started by throwing smart and making good throws, the receivers were simply dropping them, Bowe had 3 of them, Jenkins dropped his only look. It wasn't looking well. While Jags would put together another good drive and score to go up 14-0. This sparked Jamaal Charles. He would get the ball, make a couple of moves and race for an 85 yard TD. This play sparked the rest of the game and they would put together a solid rest of the half to make it a 17-14 deficit. This game would go back and forth until Eric Berry would come up with an INT and Charles TD to separate it and seal the win for the Chiefs.

Holding a 17-0 lead with the clock winding down in the second quarter Champ Bailey was able to pick off Joe Flacco and return it 70 yards for the pick 6, giving the Broncos a 24 point lead that was too large for the Broncos erase.
Key Stats: Peyton 316 yards passing

Ray Rice 116 yards rushing, 32 yards receiving
    Suggs - 15 Tackles

Play of the game: Champ Bailey INT TD

Redskins wins season opener over division foe Eagles, Defense performs brilliantly...
    game recap.JPG
    skins player.JPG
Landover, MD | The Burgundy and Gold opened the 2013-2014 season versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Much talk surrounded the match up with many story lines. Is RG3 back? Will Vick return to form? Is Chip Kelly NFL material? Well, questions were answered. After going up 21-10 at half in the first attempt, a disconnect caused the game to be re-booted. In that first game, RG3 took the first play from scrimmage the distance to put the Skins up after the D held Philly in check after they decided to receive the ball. The Redskins were dominating, and in the 3rd, the game had to be redone. Take 2. Philly would drive the ball down field, only to be stopped by the defense who held there own in the redzone, giving up only the 3. The Skins would answer back with 14 unanswered in the 1st half. Alfred Morris was well on his way to a 100+ yard game, as the Philly D had no answer for him. Third year man Evan Royster would replace Morris, and on his first play from scrimmage, he carried it for 40 yards off of a huge block from LT Trent Williams. 21 - 3 was the score early in the 3rd. Philly's MIke Vick was under pressure all game (Sacked 8 times, and threw 5 INTS), but managed to hook up on some big plays to favorite targets Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Jackson would leave the game in the 4th with a bruised sternum after rookie CB Amerson laid the wood to him. Philly managed to get the game close, 28 - 20 in the fourth, but Royster was able to close out the victory for the Skins. RG3 second go at it was mediocre at best. He did toss 3tds, but also 2 INTS. Fred Davis and Evan Royster/Alfred Morris definitely were the stand out offensively. Orakpo was in beast mode, recording 8 tackle (5 for losses), 3 sacks, and FF. Amerson added two sacks ans Josh Wilson add two INTS. Game ball went to Rak, who was fresh off a season ending injury. Rak had this to say " I was just happy to be out there again, rain and all. I'm proud of how we all played on defense tonight. Philly has alot of speed at the skill positions, and we were able to keep them in check, looking forward to the re-match." GG thegman2.0

    Silver and Black.....and Blue
Oakland wins its first opening day since (forever) but they pay the price
Oakland AP: The Raiders walked out of Lucas Oil Stadium a winner 30-24 , but take two losses in the fight. The hype was high in the Raider Nation for the emergence of Tyrrell Pryor this season, and in one 58 yard laser beam TD throw to Denarius Moore, things looked like they had a silver lining for once long struggling epic franchise. Tyrrell Pryor took a shot one throw after tossing a season opening TD pass to D-Money Moore, that broke his jaw and he will miss the next five weeks. The Raiders were out of character as they played a strong run defense vs Bob and the Colts, but in typical Raider style of late, tackling and pass coverage were a mystery. That all changed when new raider Michael Jenkins snatched a Luck pass out of the hands of TY Hilton to shift momentum back to the Raiders. RUN DMC took the Colt by the horns running the rock with authority 23 times for 172 yards and a trip to the paydirt. D-Money Moore had a solid debut with 4 grabs for 110 and a TD. The Colts had a huge mid game TD grab and juke TD by Ty that left the Raider secondary on their backs. In the 3rd quarter RUN DMC injured his knee and will be out for at least 5 games. The Raiders struggled to do anything on the ground with McFadden out but Matt Flynn went 8-11 for 119 and a TD toss which Coach Third sipped in disarray on his cocktail over, as Tyrrell Pryor watched with an ice pack on his chin. All is well in Raider Nation after a big win vs Bob and the Colts. GG BOB and Madden is Back!!!!!!!!!

    Cincinnati Bengals: 42
    Chicago Bears: 30

The Cincinnati Bengals go into Chicago and win a tough hard fought battle with MG and the Bears. Matt forte proved to be a wrecking ball and turnovers for the Bears would make the difference. Bengals RB Giovanni Bernard gets his first start for the Bengals, as the rookie rushed for more than 100 yards with 2 TD's. QB Andy Dalton continues to prove as a leader connecting with Muhammad Sanu for more than 100 yards and 2 TD's. Great game _MG_ , good luck the rest of the season.

Ravens Take Care of Cleveland 24-7
    [IMG]

Charm City was all questions following the Ravens loss to Denver last week, where Big Money QB Joey Flacco threw 5 INTs. Flacco, along with the rest of the Ravens shined much brighter last night against AFC North nemesis Cleveland. Baltimore got off to a hot start, taking a 21-7 lead into the half. From there it was a defensive slugfest, as it was slated to be. The Baltimore D played extremely well throughout, holding and forcing turnovers against Cleveland while the Browns had the ball inside the Ravens end of the field.

The offense played well, much better than last week, keeping control of the ball for much of the game. Ray Rice kept the pace slow, not allowing Cleveland to keep consistency with their lack of possession. Torrey Smith's 55 YD TD Pass from Flacco put Baltimore up 7, answering a quick response by Cleveland that locked the game at 7-7. From there, it was all Baltimore as the Charm City prepares a new stadium construction next week. Next up for the Ravens is a big match up with Raven Legend Ed Reed and the Houston Texans. GG Ryty .. as always.

    Ravens:
    QB Joe Flacco - 10/16 212 YDs 3 TDs 1 INT
HB Ray Rice - 23 Atts 161 YDs
WR Torrey Smith - 3 Recs 92 YDs 1 TD
TE Dennis Pitta - 3 Recs 87 YDs 1 TD
CB Lardarius Webb - 2 TKLs 2 INTs
LB Daryll Smith - 6 TKLs 1 INT
S Matt "Money" Elam - 1 BIG 'OL INTERCEPTION FOR COACH Diddy81

    Browns:
    QB Brandon Weeden - 9/28 110 YDs 1 TD 4 INTs
HB Trent Richardson - 17 Atts 64 YDs
WR Travis Benjamin - 3 Recs 61 YDs 1 TD
LB Barkevious Mingo - 8 TKLs

Bengals Rookie Running back Giovani Bernard runs for another 100+ yard game this season.

    Screen Shot 2013-09-01 at 9.09.50 PM.png
The Cincinnati Bengals lay down a beating on division foe the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals were able to sack Big Ben an impressive 9 times, led by DE Michael Johnson who was tough around the edge. Cornerback Terrence Newman also picked off Ben twice in the game, making it a very long day for our favorite big guy in Cincinnati. The Bengals will take on the Packers up next.
