    :goal: 89' K. Miller
It was a tough night for Genoa with two 0-1 defeats. Especially the one that came late against Bursaspor. Bursaspor opened the play with a shot that found the crossbar on their first attack. Following that both teams played a safe game. A big mistake by Omer Erdogan left Genoa strikers with a wide open net but they failed to capitalize on that one big chance. Just when Genoa fans thought they were about to steal a point from a team that's above them in the table, a nicely placed cross from Batalla's corner kick found the goal scoring machine Miller's head followed by the net in the 89th minute.

Game disconnected at halftime. We played another half. Stats not recorded.

Gervinho's goal was a fluky cross that deflected off the Palermo defender and Moussa Sow and went in.

I still need to play Napoli but haven't heard back from @grundlebug.
  10. I need to play my game with @shiftee just haven't any time. I will be gone on vacation and wont return until next Wednesday. If my game is the last one holding the week before I get back then just push forward. I would have probably lost to shiftee anyway :(

so there's the scores so far this week. Since schalke/cska can't play til wed at the earliest, how about we just advance once napoli/palermo play? I think that makes the most sense, and then move schalke/cska to the end break

sounds good to me. it'd be nice to get the next week started asap. plus, since we'll end the year on a single matchday, we could probably just convert that into matchday 22 plus make-up games

Mladen Petric Scores Twice To Give Hamburg A Much Needed Victory
After failing to win any of their past 3 matches, Hamburg had fallen from the top of the Serie A table. After drawing with Bursaspor earlier in the week, the club now found itself in need of a desperate win against one of the league's top contenders, CSKA Moscow. Hamburg had previous success in the two clubs' first meeting, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes en route to a 2-1 win. And early on in the sequel, Hamburg followed that blueprint. In the 5th minute, Hamburg forward Mladen Petric was able to intercept a headed clearance attempt by CSKA, and with a clear path, took a few dribbles before curling a beauty into the net. Hamburg appeared to look calm and composed early on, as the team's head coach really pushed practice recently due to the club securing a disappointing 2 points over its past 3 matches. The Hamburg attack was pushing ahead late in the first half, and Petric was able to score a second goal and give Hamburg a 2-0 lead at the half. "We weren't satisfied at all at that point," claimed Hamburg head coach Armin Veh. "I liked the way we played early, we looked brilliant. But it's a 90-minute match, not 45. We had been playing poorly recently, and the players and I were not going to let another match slip passed us." CSKA had a few attempts late in the match, but it was too little too late, and Hamburg goalkeeper Frank Rost was able to secure the clean sheet. The competition is surely heating up at the end of the season, and Hamburg will continue to fight for the Serie A title next week against Schalke 04.

Two Goals Enough For Hamburg As Goalkeeper Frank Rost Records Clean Sheet
Hamburg came into the match remembering the first match between these two teams. In that match, FC Schalke 04 took the 1-0 victory and stifled the Hamburg attack. This time around, Hamburg was in need of a win to ensure their position in the championship hunt. Mladen Petric started Hamburg off on the right foot with a header in the first, which surprisingly stunned the German international keeper Manuel Neuer as he merely watched the ball whisk past him. Yet despite the goal, Schalke was able to handle most of the game's momentum. Luckily for Hamburg, goalkeeper Frank Rost brought out his A game. Rost was able to get his hands on all opportunities on net, and the Schalke forwards helped him out with 10 off-target shots as well. Then in the 83rd minute, looking to help out the defense, the Hamburg attack broke through again. This time, it was Ruud Van Niselrooy, who notched his 9th goal of the season and cemented the Hamburg victory at 2-0. After a recent dip in form, Hamburg appear to be back on track. Hamburg have now posted consecutive clean sheets, and the team will hope to continue that streak into their next match at Genoa.

    Udine, Italy

When these two teams last met, one goal was good enough to take all 3 points on the day as Udinese's defense frustrated Palermo's attack. As the two teams took to the field one had to wonder if both teams had an eye on their semifinal games in the cup, and whether or not this game would be worth the price of admission. Well, the first half seemed like a rather dull affair, with Palermo only getting 2 shots off the whole half to Udinese's 5 shots in total, but Palermo found themselves 1-0 up thanks to a Miccoli goal.

The 2nd half fireworks started in the 64th minute, as Udinese's pressure finally paid off with Di Natale sneaking in on the near post and heading in the equalizer. No sooner were the home fans celebrating did they find their team a goal down once again, as Hernandez took a ball played in by Bacinovic, rounded his marker, and placed the shot beyond the keeper. 2-1 Palermo.

2 minutes after that and the game was tied up yet again, as Mr Reliable, Di Natale was there to score yet again, sending the home fans into euphoria. As Udinese pushed forward to try and score the winner, Palermo would take the lead for a 3rd time, as Miccoli met a crossed ball in with a spectacular side-footed shot that went by Handanovic, and into the net. Udinese must have really felt let down after that goal as Pastore would put the game to bed 3 minutes later as he rounded past the defense before side-footing it into the net. 4-2 Palermo, and the team from Sicily kept their slim hopes of the Serie A title alive.
