America's Team traveled to the Queen City of Cincinnati for this week 14 matchup. The Cowboys have been struggling as of late by dropping their last 3, while the Bengals are on the longest win streak in the NFL with 6 straight.
This game would ultimately be decided based upon two factors. Turnovers, and capitalizing on opportunities. Twice in the course of the game Tony Romo would throw interceptions within 30 yards of the endzone and deny his team the chance to catch up to the Bengals who were playing conservatively and making few mental errors. The Bengals were very fortunate to of recovered 2 first half fumbles by starting HB Cedric Peerman when the Cowboys D knocked the rock loose. Outside of those 2 fumbles, the Bengals offense took pretty good care of the ball. Romo would throw 5 total interceptions by the games end, and it is just near impossible for a team to win with a -4 in the turnover column. Andy Dalton had a pretty fair game ending up with 225 yards, 4 tds, and 1 int.
Both teams were determined to run the ball in this game, but midway through the 3rd quarter DeMarcus Murray went down with a injury and the Cowboys had to sub in Felix Jones, who wasn't able to maintain the good pace Murray had set earlier.
This game was tighter than the final score makes it seem, but the Bengals win again and increase their streak to 7 in a row and are looking like they will definitely be making a playoff appearence.
