Gillislee 7/45 and Thomas 6/25 to give Miami a solid day on the ground. Tannehill threw the ball great just 2 dumb deep ball INT from having a great game himself.
Miamis defense brought the funk with 4 sacks and tons of pressure all game. I will write more tomorrow
NEW YORK JETS- 35, TAMPA BAY BUCS- 33
NEW YORK (AP)- Coach Reece Mills was sweating this game our during the final moments because his Jets almost blew a 21-6 lead. "Sheesh, we definitely need to close teams out better," said Reece. His Jets defense was really carved up via the air as Bucs QB Josh Freeman threw for 430yds and 2TD's on the game. Despite the Jets having difficulty getting the Bucs off the field, they did do a good job of stopping the Bucs in their red zone. Early in the game the Bucs drove down into the redzone, only for them to settle for FG's. That played a key role in the Jets victory. One of those stops was a Dee Millner INT, the first of his career. "It was great to get that one out the way," said Dee. But the secondary knows they have to tighten up the reigns back there.
Despite the struggles of the defense via the air, they did contain Bucs RB Doug Martin. Martin only rushed for 38yds on 14 carries, as the 2nd year RB did most of his damage with 63 yards on 3 receptions. "We controlled their run game which was a positive," said Mo Wilkerson, who had 4 tackles on the game.
The Jets started rookie QB Geno Smith and he shined throughout the game, showing some poise, moxie, and amazing promise. He carved up the Bucs defense and did it with optimal efficiency. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 309 yards, threw for 5 big time TD's and was picked off just once. On one play he showed off his great arm, hitting Santonio Holmes on a post route, beating former Jet all-pro/all-everything Darrelle Revis. "I couldn't have done it without the help of my big nasties up front though and the RB's helped make the game easy for me early on," said Geno Smith.
The RB's were scrutinized coming into this season as not being upgraded as much but they did the job when push came to shove. Chris Ivory got the start today and rushed for 71 yards on 17 carries. Mike Goodson's yardage wasn't impressive with only 17 yards on 7 carries but he had a few key 1st downs in the game and was very good out of the backfield for Geno.
All in all it resulted in a good day for the Jets, even though they had to starve off a late attack from the Bucs late in the game. "This is the NFL, you will barely blow a team out," said Reece Mills. For a team that has been laughed and ridiculed at every turn during the last few years and offseason, this was a good start to the season.
Raiders Win Opener vs Colts 34-10
Raiders open up the season visiting the Colts who come in after a successful playoff year with Andrew Luck at QB as a rookie. The Colts are looking to build on the success and have a big year while the Raiders and Pryor look to build on a young and different team this year.
Andrew Luck and the colts struck first with Luck able to his receivers and behind the running of newly acquired Ahmad Bradshaw. The Colts was able to slash the Raider defense who come in with a hole set of new starters compared to last year and it showed. Ahmad was able to punch it in 10 yards out to give the Colts a 7-0 lead. Raiders responded with Ford taking the kickoff close to midfield and Dmac with a 30 yard TD run to tie up the score. After a stop, the Raiders drove again deep into Colt terriroty and Dmac fumbles the ball, his first of two fumbles on the day killing any scoring opportunity. After a FG by the Colts to give them a 10-7 lead, everything went downhill from there as Luck went down with an injury for the remainder of the half. The Raiders took over by pressuring back Hassellbeck who was sacked multiple times and the offense took advantage of the stop with Pryor hitting TE Ausberry twice for TD scores to give the Raiders a 21-10 lead.
Not much changed for the Colts as Luck missed the 3rd quarter and the Raiders tacked on another 13 points to give the Raiders a lead 34-10 and never looked back. Oddly, Luck came back in the 4th being down big and was at risk of an injury, but made it through the game, but down 24, it was too little too late.
Pryor was lost in the 3rd quarter to a fractured foot and expected to be sidelined 5 or so weeks, Matt Flynn looks to take over while the Raiders look to add another QB in waivers.
Both teams started out sluggish as they were feeling each other out. Tennesse gets on the board first with a FG after picking off Roethlisberger in Steeler territory. Pittsburgh would match their FG and on the ensuing drive Cortez Allen would pick Locker returning it for 6. This would start a 28 point flurry for the Steelers during the 2nd quarter. Tennessee would answe with their first TD of the game right before half, but quickly taking the wind out of their sail, Felix Jones returns the kick off for a TD as time expires at half. Pittsburgh would hold onto their lead and fight off a valient comeback attempt.
Roethlisberger 14/27 196yds 1 TD 2 INT
Jones 68yds rushing
Washington 66yds rushing
Miller 6rec 99yds
Locker 15/27 241yds 2 TD 2 INT
Johnson 129yds 1 TD rushing
Wright 4rec 77yds 2 TD
Redskins Top Eagles in Season Opener 41-14
Robert Griffin III is back in the fold as he expected when he declared he was "All In" for week 1. He was able to deliver the kind of performance Redskin fans witnessed all last year as he tallied 271 passing yards and 3 TD to lead Washington in what turned out to be a rout of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins scored quickly when Josh Morgan broke free on a post route after the cornerback took a bad angle and it was off to the races for an 88 yard score. Philly was able to answer back immediately when Desean Jackson took the ensuing kickoff 91 yards for the game tying score. The 1st quarter would end nodded up at 14 when Washington completely took over the game. Behind the strong running of Alfred Morris (20 car, 128 yds, 2 TD) and Griffin III, the Redskins offense had no trouble moving down the field. Meanwhile, the defense stifled LeSean McCoy and picked off Michael Vick two times. The Eagle offense only managed 232 yards on the day.
It's a great start for the Redskins, who have Super Bowl aspirations now that RG3 is healthy. Next week they travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.
Bengals Win Season Opener on the Road
The Bengals start the season with a W as they take down the Chicago Bears 26-9. Dalton looked pretty solid except for an ugly late game INT. Green-Ellis was able to keep the defense honest with some nice runs and getting those tough short yard first downs. The rookie Geo Bernard got it on the action in relief duty putting up 26 yards in his NFL debut. The other Green, A.J., posted a great game even though he didn't get into the endzone. He had 7 catches for 108 yards. Not to be outdone, Mohamed Sanu put up 82 yards of his own. Jermaine Gresham had a couple of targets in the game. One was overthrown, the other was dropped. The O-line kept Dalton upright all game, allowing no sacks and very few pressures. The Bears O had a hard time keeping the Bengals front four from getting the QB early and often. Big Geno Atkins netted 2 sacks, as well edge rush specialist Carlos Dunlap. The other bookend DE Micheal Johnson put up a sack as well. Adam Jones got the lone pick of the day. Coach Chandler said he was pleased with the way this team played. Especially the defense, because everyone knows defense win championships. Next week, the Bengals have their home opener against division foe, Pittsburgh. This game will be hard hitting and full of drama as each team tries to get the early hold on the AFC North.
I see you grabbed Tebow...planning some wildcat? Is he going to get a chance to start because Tebow has sorta similar traits to Pryor?
Would have liked to win but I got an even better lesson in the loss.... Don't go for the pick take the swat, you have to tackle to win the game and I hate losing. GG Bro.
From one Raider to another put Wilson on the field, Flynn is a smoker .....
Patriots win their first game in a shoot out in Buffalo
The New England Patriots start the season off on the right foot with a 52-45 against the Bills. This game was back an forth but, the patriots made fewer mistakes and that ended up being the key to the game. If your looking for defense then this was not the game for you. Neither team seemed to be able to stop the other. Another key for the Pat's was their running game. Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount both had solid games. Ridley had 17 carries for 67 yards and Blount had 12 carries for 57 yards and one TD. The run game was a very important part of the Patriots offense in this game as it helped set up the play action passes. Some of their biggest plays came off play action.
Other than a lower completion percentage, Tom Brady seems to be hitting on all cylinders already in week one. He had some drops by none other than Braylon Edwards. Coach Henderson truly believes that Edwards is the same guy that was in the movie Necessary Roughness. His last name was Featherstone in that movie but, not he goes by Edwards. Edwards was cut shortly after the game. Some saw him dropping passes on the Texas State Armadillos Practice field recently. Brady ended up going 19-34 for 56%(Thanks Featherstone!). He had 367 yards, 6 td's, and 1 int. Gronkowski was his top target with 6 catches for 122 yards and 2 TD's. He could have ended up with even better numbers but, he got knocked out of the game with a Broken Jaw. He is out for a few weeks. This will give him time to work on his shirtless dance moves.
The defense needs some work. They did what they needed to do to win but, they are going to have to work on stopping the curl routes and passes to the RB. These were the plays that gave them the biggest headache. They did get decent pressure on Manuel. The had 2 sacks and forced 4 turnovers.
This week the Patriots face off against Geno Smith and the rival Jets. The Patriots look to play better defense and try to get win number two of the season.
I dont have wildcat formations, only trade similar to pryor is that he can run, but not as fast.
We'll just have to wait and see how i use him

Seahawks go into Carolina and win in a thriller 27-24
Seattle went into Carolina in week one and was able to squeak out a win 27-24 on a last second 57 yard field goal by Steven Hauschka. Seattle opened the scoring with a rushing TD by Marshawn Lynch from 7 yards out, during the subsequent possession by the Panthers, a big hit on Jonathan Stewart lead to a fumble and the Seahawks added a field goal to go up 10-0. Carolina would get a turnover of there own by Russell Wilson as he thru a pick near the end zone as the Seahawks were looking for more points. Carolina would go down the field and score to make the score at halftime 10-7.
In the second half both offenses would get going as Russell Wilson would hit Marshawn Lynch for a score through the air and Cam Newton would get Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell heavily involved as both would score touchdowns. Russell Wilson would find Sidney Rice for a score and the game would be tied at 24 with just over a minute left. Carolina would begin a drive and off a no-huddle play Cam Newton went to the out pattern to Brandon LaFell but Brandon Browner undercut the route and made the INT. Unfortunately he would step out of bounds after he made the catch but the ball went back to the Seahawks. Russell Wilson got a nice play over the middle to Zach Miller and set up with :02 left on the clock for a 57 yard field goal attempt. At worst the Hawks were looking at overtime. However, it wouldn't be needed as Hauschka buried it from 57 yards with about 4 yards to spare, for a thrilling finish.

GG Blaza Carolina will be a tough team all year.
Lions Pull Off Season Opener Win With a Last Second Field Goal After Blowing a 22 Point Lead, 38-36
Detroit opened the season against division rival Minnesota and many doubters and most of the league thinking the Vikings were a hands down favorite to win the NFC North this season. But the game became a tail of two quarters for both teams as Detroit ran out to a big 28-6 lead in the second quarter, exploiting Matt Cassell, who was benched for Christen Ponder. Then Minnesota became the team that everyone thought they were, storming back with a flurry of well timed passes.
The Vikings needed to gather all their poise after a terrible injury to Adrian Peterson, easily the best HB in the league on a goal line run that came up short that broke his collarbone and knocking him out until week 9. But as everyone knew, the Viking rallied around the injury and made an amazing comeback and came within seconds of pulling out the win. Minnesota closed the gap with a early third quarter pick and Ponder got Kyle Rudolph involved in the gameplan, extending drives and keeping the tiring Lions defensive unit on the field. Prior to the second half, FA acquisition Reggie Bush carries the Lions offense breaking a long touchdown reception on a Stafford check-down and adding over 90 yards on the ground as well.
The fourth quarter saw many dramatics as the Vikings continued with their momentum, making a punt return touchdown and a kickoff return for scores and forcing Stafford to make off balance throws and getting Detroit offense off the field. The Vikings scored 2 touchdowns in the fourth but the stout goal line defense of the Lions stuck big twice on two failed 2 point conversions that came back to haunt the Vikings in the end. With Minnesota taking the late fourth quarter lead with under a minute left and three timeouts Stafford and the Lions came out to work. Stafford went with the meal ticket, Calvin Johnson, who made three big receptions in the closing minute and putting new Lions kicker David Akers into field goal territory. Known for being a notorious choke artist in the past, Akers delivered this time though, putting the pigskin through the uprights and stopping one of the most epic Lions collapses in history and probably saving coach Jim Schwartz's job.
