Champaign, IL - Illinois and Ohio State squared off with the Illibuck trophy on the line. The Buckeyes were heavy favorites entering this game but Illinois was dominant in the first half. Nathan Scheelhaase passed for a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter and he ran in a touchdown in the second quarter. Illinois lead 21-7 going into the half, but the Illini could have acquired a bigger lead. Clock management cost Illinois a shot at points and a larger lead.

The OSU coach must have given a legendary speech at halftime because the Buckeyes were fired up in the second half. The offense scored a touchdown on a Braxton Miller pass. Devin Smith was the recipient of that pass. After a defensive stop OSU tied the game with a Miller TD run. Illinois kicked a field goal to regain the lead but Jalin Marshall made quick work of that lead. The Buckeyes acquired their first lead of the game on Marshall's second kick return touchdown of the season. Ohio State added to the lead in the fourth quarter and the Buckeyes took home the Illibuck trophy.

Scheelhaase had a huge game with 390 passing yards but he struggled getting first downs in the second half. The Buckeyes secondary took a beating this week with Lankford and Harris combining for 304 receiving yards. This issue will be addressed during the next practice. On the offensive side OSU didn't put up many yards but the Buckeyes were able to avoid turning over the football. Miller completed 11 of 14 passes for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 28 and a score. Carlos Hyde also had a productive day with 97 rushing yards on just 12 carries.

Clemsom Tigers would not be denied!

Clemson vs rival Georgia Tech was one that lived up to the hype. Two of the under performing teams of the ACC faced off in South Carolina. Clemson would score first of a catch and run behind a blown coverage assignment, to none other than, Big Sam Cooper, TE extraordinaire. 71 yards to give the home team a 7-0 lead. Clemson's defense was playing well, but Chad Kelly wasn't. He threw two picks on back to back possession, which made Coach CT pull him after the first quarter. Clemson threw 4 INTs for the day. The came could have been a blowout, and or a loss on Clemson's part if not for the defense holding the yellow jackets in check. GT would go on to score on a descent drive early 2nd quarter. Clemson responds with two TD drives before halftime, led by Tahj Boyd. 21 - 7 at the half. Third quarter was a stale mate, as Clemson'd D would hold GT, BUT THE OFFENSE WOULD TURN IT BACK Over. The fourth quarter came, and saw the yellow jackets get within a TD, but no closer. The two teams would trade TD's. GT scored one more time late in the 4th, and couldn't get the onside kid.
