(S1) Week 3 Results: Post In Here!!

    Clemson 40 - Auburn 34

Clemson found themselves at Jordan-Hare Stadium this week facing a 2-0 Auburn team. Coming of a huge win (gift) over Texas, the Tigers were poised to take that momentum into this game and turn it into another win.
Clemson was amped from the start, forcing a turnover on Auburn's first drive and turning it into a quick FG. Getting the ball back again after a short drive by Auburn would end in a 17 yard passing TD to Terrance Ashe. Auburn would end a FG at the end of the 1st, 10-3 Clemson.
2nd quarter, Clemson explodes. Kyle Parker goes 79 yards on an option keeper on their second play from scrimmage. Follow that up with 2 Xavier Dye TD receptions (9 & 37 yards) and we find Clemson up 31-3. Auburn adds a FG to close out the half. 31-6 Clemson.
EA would finally return in the 3rd quarter. Auburn came out of the half inspired to add 2 TD's. Clemson's momentum had appearantly wore off at this point.
In the 4th, Auburn would have to step it up as they were only down 31-20. First drive of the half, Clemson put together a solid drive capped off by a 9 yard TD pass to TE Dewayne Allen. On the Kickoff, Auburn put themselves in a hole with a holding penalty. 1st play, Cameron Newton was sacked for a 7 yard loss. 2nd and 17, Auburn tries play-action out of the end zone which was sniffed out by Clemson, sacking Newton again for the safety. 40-20 Clemson. Auburn was still not ready to let this one go. Down 20, Auburn would take their 1st play after a Clemson punt, 92 yards for a TD by WR Kodi Burns. A successful onside kick, Auburn ball at midfield, 30 seconds after scoring, Auburn would score again on a TD pass to TE Philip Lutzenkirchen. Auburn would try for another onside, only to fall short.
Auburn will look to continue their winning as they face Miami at home, week 4.

Mizzou wins again with a big score 52-10 over San Diego St giving them there first lost of the season. The red hot tigers keep there streak alive at three, but that's not all the news Coach Gabeastmode hearing about star play and senior RB D. Washington went down early first quarter. "Expected to be out 9 weeks that really hurts" comments Coach Ga.
Junior Qb and captain help the team keep its momentum as they moved forward. B. Gabbert thrown 2 td passes in the first quarter to get us ahead and end it 14-0. Spreading the ball around the field is what he did J. Jackson and L. Washington both caught those two td's. Second quarter SDSU start to catch on to Mizzou no huddle spread we only to manage 10 points. A fg kick from Ressel 34 yards out and a td pass from the most dominant duo B. Gabbert to L.Washington who is not even listed as a starter.
Halftime score 24-0 Mizz thought they were in a fight guess not. B. Gabbert came out and thrown one more td pass before coach Beastmode decides to sit him the rest of the game. D. Moore caught that pass for 21 yards. True freshman J. Franklin came in to lead the charge throwing another td pass to also other true freshman J.Hunt for 38 yards watch these guys in the years to come. That's not all SDSU drove down field and manage to get a fg with the clock expiring at the end of third quarter leaving the score 38-3.
Fourth quarter Mizz four and out first series. SDSU int J. Frankline pass by Horn and taken it 73 yards for a td. That wasn't the end the storm just begun as Franklin connected with Woodland for a 11 yard td pass. Then next series drove down field and backup rb D. Moore ran it in from 5 yards out. Ending the game with the score 52-10 Mizzou

North Carolina Cruises by Georgia Tech, Wins 27-7

Facing their second straight ranked opponent, the North Carolina Tar Heels answered a lot of their critics by showing that they are a team to be reckoned with. After forcing Georgia Tech to punt on their first possession, UNC embarked on a 4+ minute drive, methodically moving down the field on the ground and through the air. HB Shaun Draughn would punch it in from the 1 yard line to put UNC up 7-0 at the end of the quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, UNC would go up 10-0. However, Georgia Tech would not go away easily. Joshua Nesbitt caught UNC napping and delivered a 34 yard strike to WR Tyler Melton, closing the gap to 10-7 with 44 seconds left. Never to waste an opportunity, Bryn Renner showed why he should be on everyone's watch list by guiding the Tar Heels down the field once again. With 15 seconds left, Renner found Erik Highsmith running towards the corner of the endzone. With one sharp flick of the wrist and follow-through, Renner hit Highsmith for a 30 yard TD pass, putting the Tar Heels up 2 scores once again. "That was an amazing 44 seconds. Can you believe he recently became our starter?," said coach Nguyen. "If you didn't love that throw and catch, then you don't love football."

The Yellowjackets came out of the second half with a vengeance, hitting anyone and everyone that was wearing the UNC colors. Forced to punt early and often, the Tar Heels gladly repaid the favor on defense. Nesbitt and company could not find the gaps that they were so accustomed to in the first half. Wide receivers who pulled down early catches were now hit immediately...that is if they could even get a hand on the ball. "The guys up front kept up the pressure all day," said Marvin Austin. "Our secondary really came out and set the tone in the second half. Those were some nasty hits that they dealt today man. Straight nasty."

Add on a fg and a Greg Little TD catch and it was a wrap. UNC over GTECH, 27-7.

    Bryn Renner: 24-39 for 330yds, 2TDs vs 1INT

Shaun Draughn: 18 carries for 56 yards, 1TD

Zack Pianalto: 8 recs for 98 yards

Greg Little: 8 recs for 68 yards, 1TD

    Oklahoma dominates Va Tech 24-10.

Oklahoma's D-line and LB's completely shutdown Ryan Williams (32yds) and the Hokie rushing attack. Tyrod Taylor had a good day going 16-19 couldn't win the game on his own.

The Hokie D started of the game strong, forcing punts on it's first 2 series. Over time, however, the balanced attack of Oklahoma began to wear them down. Va Tech got within 7 with two minutes left but couldn't recover the onside and then got the ball ran right up their ass for the game sealing TD.

Va Tech goes 1-1 vs Big 12 foes and eagerly awaits starting it's conference season.

Huskers Survive Late Push by Huskies

It looked as if the Cornhuskers were going to dominate this matchup early. The first play from scrimmage, was a fumble recovered for a TD by the Blackshirts. On Washington's next offensive drive, they threw an interception in which Nebraska was able to capitalize off of for another touchdown making the score 14-0. The Blackshirts held Washington once again to a quick 3 and out. Then offense was able to punch in another touchdown making it 21-0. This is the score that would carry over to halftime. To start the third quarter the Husker offense struggled and was forced to punt. Senior Alex Henery had a beautiful punt that pinned Washington on their own 2 to start the drive. A sack by Jared Crick got Nebraska a safety and it was 23-0. From this point, I'm not really sure what happened either Washington woke up or Nebraska went to sleep but the Huskies made it a quite a game. They rattled off 20 unanswered with a Husker FG coming late.

    Final Score 26-20 Nebraska.

The hot Missouri Tigers wins again in a comfortable lead 38-15. Miami University showed a fight early but just couldn't hang in the end strong. Two fist quarters td's from Freshman Wr Hunt who scored running a sweep out of the wildcat. Also backup Rb Moore ran in for a 6 yard score to make it 14-0 end of first. Second quarter wasn't much Miami was bringing the pain as Mizzou kicked a fg on ther fist series driving down field. Rb Moore again gets another score from 1 yard out. Halftime 24-0 Mizzou tigers are thinking about letting the younger guys play after a Woodland 10 yard td pass from Gabbert until Miami scored 3 yard run from there starting Rb. Making it 31-7 end of third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter J.Rogers from Miami connected with a nice 16 yard pass from Dysert. Once again Gabbert strikes with pressure a 11 yard run.

    B.Gabbert 17/27 262 yards 1 td 1 int

    D.Moore 21 att 76 yards 1 td

    L.Washington 5 rec 80 yards
