The Cardinals' star linebacker, Preston Brown, led the defense with 13 tackles and 1 clutch late game interception. Though Bridgewater gets most of the team's press, the linebackers are definitely some of the best kept secrets in the conference. If you haven't heard of them, here you go -

    35 - 31
    [IMG]
In a game that was being built as the SEC Western Division Title game, even though it was only week 3, lived up to all expectations as #1 ranked Alabama over came self inflected miscues, a high powered Aggie offense and a driven rain to come from behind to pull out a 35-31 victory over 4th ranked Texas A&M. The Aggies jumped out to an early 7-0 lead when CB Clay Honeycutt picked off AJ McCarron and raced 38 yards for the first score of the day. But Alabama responded with a methodical drive that ended with a 1 yard TD run from TJ Yeldon to tie the game at 7-7. A&M retook the lead early in the 2nd Qtr then forced the a 2nd McCarron int and converted it into another Manziel TD pass and with just over 2 minutes left in the half A&M had the top ranked Crimson Tide reeling. But Alabama showed why it was ranked 1 by driving the length of the field and scoring on a 10 yard TD srtiek from McCarron to DeAndrew White to pull within 21-14 at the half. Mid way thru the 3rd Qtr the Crimson Tide tied the game at 21-21 when McCarron found TE Brian Vogler open in the end zone for a 6 yard TD pass. The two teams traded TDs setting up the final 3 minutes of the 4th Qtr to decide a winner. A&M slowed the offense slightly as they moved down the field chewing up clock, but the Alabama defense got one of their few defensive stops of the game and forced A&M to settle for a 27 yard FG and a 31-28 lead with 1:40 left in the game. The Crimson Tide drove down the field using up clock and getting themselves into FG range with also shot at the win. On 3rd down with 10 seconds remaining at the A&M 9 yard line the Crimson Tide went for the win knowing that in incomplete pass would still allow for a tying FG and OT. McCarron identified the single inside coverage on DeAndrew White and connect with him in the corner of the end zone for a TD and a dramatic 35-31 win.
The player of the game was TJ Yeldon who rushed for 133 yards and 1 TD on 22 carries as he picked up the slack from McArron's 3 Ints on the day.
