    Dropping the Ball
Hawaii Loses Season Opener and Coach Westcott's First Game in Second Half Meltdown to 23rd Ranked Oregon St, 34-24
Coach Westcott decided to go with Junior QB Taylor Graham as his starter for the season and it looked like a solid pick during the first half with the Warriors running out to a 21-7 halftime lead. But costly turnovers and bad decisions with the football cost the Warriors the game with 5 turnovers in the second half and the Beavers avoided the upset.
Hawaii had a slight 3 point lead with 3 minutes left when Taylor Graham threw a pick 6 and to add insult to injury, he fumbled on the Warriors last possession only to watch helplessly as the Beaver defense ran the fumble in for a game clinching score and Hawaii picked up the L despite forcing three int's of their own.

The Bulls have an easy Saturday!
One of the most important things coach Reynolds wanted to improve was the turnovers. The Bulls came away with a plus two in that column today. They forced two fumbles and recovered both of them. Not only did they create turnovers but they were able to capitalize on them. The offense turned both of them into 14 points on the scoreboard. For this team to be successful it must be able to control the line of scrimmage. In today's game we saw a very dominate performance on both sides. The offense was able to rush for 346 a 10.2 yard per carry average. On defense they kept the Falcons to only 56 rushing yards a 2.8 yard per carry average.

On offense it was led by senior, running back(Marcus Shaw), he carried the ball 21 times for 197 yards(9.38) and two touchdown(three total). At Quarterback they have Mike White a true freshman and he look nervous the first couple of series. As three of his first four passes were in completions. With the help of the running game, he saw nothing but man to man coverage on the outside. He was able to settle down and complete 72% of his passes and tossed four touchdowns.
Not only did the defense force two turnovers but they kept the Falcons off the scoreboard! The Falcons offense only crossed the 50 yard line once(I think). It could have been zero. The defense was led by Junior, outside linebacker(Reshard Cliett) and his six tackles and two forced fumbles. One of them was a did you see that type of hit! Senior, middle linebacker(DeDe Lattimore) had four tackles and one sack.
The Bulls also finished five for five on third down conversions. While only allowing the Falcons to convert two on a possible eight chances. They also had a 17-7 advantage in the first down department. Needles to say the Bulls dominated the total offense of column(453-156).
We did notice that the Falcons changed the QB very early in the game(only couple of plays). The new QB(J. Awini) did complete 76% of his passes for 100 yards. They also went about 50/50 calling plays under center vs shotgun. I don't know if that was due to the score or if they will look to run more out of the shotgun as the season continues.
The Falcons looked very over match and it showed not only on the field but in the numbers as well. As you would expect from a military school they gave a 110% for all four quarters.
Coach Reynolds will enjoy this victory with his team today. That being said, I expect you can find him in the film room on Sunday. A lot went well for the Bulls but the whole coaching staff knows a lot can still(and needs to) be improved on. If they want to reach the goals they have set for this team in 2013.

Wyoming loses in OT to Nebraska
Wyoming came into this game with more confidence than I am sure most of the college world gave them. They were able to go toe to toe with 22nd team in the nation only to lose focus in the OT. Brett Smith killed the Nebraska secondary finishing with 299 yards and 3 touchdowns. Herron was to go to guy early on before he started to drop passes, that's where TE Lange stepped in to keep thing rolling in the passing game. Miller wasn't much of a factor in the run game and that will have to improve if this team wants to stay balanced. Yarbrough, as expected, got into the backfield constantly sacking the QB 3 times. The team would finish with 7 sacks on the night.
