Brett Favre proved yesterday that the Vikings are not to be forgotten in the NFC North pulling of the 35-24 upset victory in his first head coaching job with his former team. It was a hard fought game by the Lions as they managed almost 350 yards on offense but unfortunately Matthew Stafford threw a career high 5 interceptions. When asked "how does it feel to get your first coaching victory in your first game as a head coach?" Brett Favre responded, "You know, it ALWAYS feels good to get the victory, expecially against a big division opponent like that going into the bye week, but we expect nothing less and thats what I told these guys. You play to win game."

The first score of the game came off an 86 yard catch and run by Jerome Simpson burning the Lions safties down the sideline for a touchdown. On the ensuing drive, the Lions had no problem marching down the field, that is, until they reached the redzone. The Vikings managed to stuff the Lions even though they had run 6 consecutive plays inside the 5 yard line forcing the Lions kicking unit onto the field to settle for 3. On the next drive Christian Ponder felt the heat from N'damukong Suh and company, and forced a ball over the middle which was picked and promptly returned for 6 by DeAndre Levy putting the Lions up by 3.

The Vikings could once again get nothing going, and were forced to punt starting the second quarter. It would not be long before the Lions scored. Matthew Staford dumped it off to Nate Burelson who took the ball 75 yards to the house. Luckily the Vikings have Adrian Peterson, who helped them significantly, with 35 yards rushing and a beautiful 8 yard catch on third down during the final drive before half. With AP punching it in the score was, Lions 17-14, at half.

The Lions would get the ball at half and tried to take advantage of the lead by running the clock. The strategy seemed to be working and the Vikings could do nothing on defense as the Lions took nearly 8 minutes off the clock on one drive! A quick touchdown pass to Calvin Johnson and it looked like the Lions had taken full control of the game extending their lead 24-14. The Vikings looked crushed when once again they were punting the ball in the fourth quarter down by 2 scores. This is when Matthew Stafford really started making mistakes,Deciding to do the exact opposite of what they did in the fourth quarter. Trying to force a pass over the top it was picked off by Robert Blanton and returned for 6 giving the Vikings the spark they needed to get back into the game. The score was 24-21. With still plenty of time on the clock the Lions offense started to panic with no reason. This is when the unthinkable happened. Another interception return for a touchdown, this time by Erin Henderson. Putting the Vikings up for the first time in the game 24-28! The fourth quarter collapse of Matthew Stafford was still not completed even when he threw his thrid interception on the next drive. After good clock management and a 23 yard touchdown run by Adrian Peterson the Lions were done. 35-24.

The future looks bright for this young team, especially with Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre on the reins. Let's see what the rest of the season has in store. Playoffs perhaps?

PLayer of the game- Adrian Peterson (21 Carries 88 yards 2 TD)

    Colts 45 Jaguars 10 (CPU)

This one was over before half in this one. Colts runningback Donald Brown had
Already rushed for over a Hundred yards and 2 tds and that point. Reggie Wayne hauled
In both of Andrew Lucks passing touchdowns. Luck had only 186 yards passing
On the day but that was all the Colts needed . Indianapolis Running backs combined 249
    Yards on the ground.

Colts head into a rivalry game against the Patriots next week which looks to be on the important side of things.

Player of the Game : Donald Brown - 149 yards rushing , 2 touchdowns.

The Giants stopped their 2 game skid agaisnt the Bengals this week. The Giants needed overtime to get the job done. HB Ahmad Bradshaw was knocked out of the game early when Bengals SS Reggie Nelson leveled the RB. Bradshaw suffered a concussion. The giants went to a RB by committee with Andre Brown and rookie David Wilson splitting carries. Brown cashed in on his opportunity, finding the endzone 3 times.

Eli Manning struggled for a third consecutive game. Eli threw the early pick 6 to Reggie Nelson, but was able to settle down, as the Giants went back to the basics, running the ball to set up the pass.

Giants will be on a bye next week.

    Saints Win a Close One

What began as a blowout 35-7 at halftime, quickly turned into a heated contest in the final minutes of the game. Atlanta's Matty Ice threw for 522 yards on a shocked Saints D. But he also accounted for 7 INTs, as the New Orleans defense seemed to snatch any and everything thrown their way.

Drew Brees had a decent day, with 422 yards and 2 TDs. But the player of the game was Stephens-Howling. Sproles, out a few weeks with an injury, watched from the bench as LaRod ran all over the Falcons. He racked up 239 yards on 35 carries, a career high.
