After 9 consecutive seasons of results, Lille and Anzhi played out their 2nd consecutive (and ever) draw, 1-1 FT. After a 1st half stalemate, Willian benefited from a fortunate bounce in the box, slotting his shot past the outstretched S. Elana for the opening goal. Lille squandered a glorious opportunity in front of goal, as M. Martin was turned the wrong way trying to redirect a rebound. The miss seemed costly at the time, but the diminutive playmaker would make up for it in the 80', as a N. Roux breakaway shot was saved, bounced around to the feet of Martin, who put a long-range effort into an open net. L. Traore could have headed home the winner, but his shot went just wide of the post, and the match ended in a draw.

Swansea are probably lucky to pull out the draw at home. There weren't a ton of chances in the match, but Lyon certainly had the better of it. Gomis took a pass from Lopez and easily turned Taylor and fired to the top corner from 8 yards out. Michu equalized after a corner forced a headed clearance and Michu was able to drain the dipping shot from about 20 yards.​

Fantasy update - juanchoCT14 is happy to see Michu net again (4 points?). Juancho scores again with Gomis and Broncos218 gets an assist from Lopez.

Following their 1st 2-goal game of the season (a 2-1 ET win in TSO-P Open Cup), manager RedAL had some decisions to make on the field. Earning his 1st career TFSerie start was young ST G. Bruno, whose Open Cup brace earned him a look with the full team. The starlet didn't take long to make an impact, as his 5' header slammed off the post. He was quiet for the rest of the match (subbed in the 71'), but the young Belgian showed well in his debut. Meanwhile, it was old-hat F. Balmont who put the team ahead with a fantastic flick past an outstretched keeper. The 1-0 lead would hold up for the rest of the game, as D. Rozehnal (filling in for suspended A. Chedjou) was let off the hook when his wide open mark missed a headed chance.

Eto'o Goal Earns Anzhi 5th 1-0 Win On The Season
It has become a common scoreline in Makhachkala these days- a 1-0 victory. Exactly half of the club's 12 league games have resulted in a 1-0 scoreline, and only once was Anzhi on the side of defeat. "Obviously I'd like to have more goals so I could breathe a bit more during our matches," said Coach Bronc in his post-game interview, "but a win is a win. Our defense has continued to play strong and enabled us to grab all 3 points tonight." Also of note, Samuel Eto'o bagged his second goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Mbark Boussoufa, who now leads the team in both assists and MOTM performances this season. Coach Bronc went on to say, "Mbark and Willian have done well recently in their attacking mid positions and have really begun to create some chances for our frontmen. I envisioned at the start of the season for both to add that extra dynamic element that Marko Marin did for me back with Bremen, and I think both have begun to really threaten the opponent each and every match." A 1-0 snoozer is good news for RedAL925, dooz, and Zikry, who each own an Anzhi defender or goalkeeper. The 3 owned Anzhi mids also earn 1 CS point for their owners. shiftee must be thinking he now needs glasses after seeing Eto'o score his SECOND goal of the season, and juanchoCT14 is the big winner with an assist and MOTM performance from Mbark Boussoufa.

Samuel Eto'o fits the shot just past the keeper and into the net for the lead in the 28th minute​
