4 teams. 3 spots. Who goes up?

    The Team: Queens Park Rangers

    Best possible Starting XI: GK Julio Cesar (82), RB D. Simpson (73), CB R. Dunne (74), CB N. Onuoha (75), LB B. Assou-Ekotto (77), CDM A. Faurlin (74), CDM J. Barton (75), RM N. Kranjcar (76), LM J. Hoilett (77), CAM S. Wright-Phillips (72), ST A. Johnson (74)

Key player: GK Julio Cesar. As of now he's stuck to QPR. Will he still be there in January? QPR does have a quality backup in R. Green (76). Julio Cesar though, can change the outcome of a game with 2/3 brilliant saves.

Position Battles: CDM A. Faurlin (74) vs. CDM J. Jenas (72) vs. S. Diakite (72)
    ST A. Johnson (74) vs. ST B. Zamora (73)

The Manager: BESHIKTAS career record of 74-51-41. Best season 14-1-3 in Serie B (S7) Champion. Last season dropped out of Serie A, thus relegated.

Outlook: BESHIKTAS is the only Serie B member to "play" in Serie A last year. Before departing he went 1-2 in Serie A, as well as a 2-0 win over Frenchie1916 in the Coppa Tradizione group stage. Back in Serie B for the first time since Season 7, BESHIKTAS has gone to a familiar team QPR. It's the only team to ever give him a division title as he won Serie B in Season 7. Now BESHIKTAS looks to be one of the front runners to win Serie B and gain promotion back to Serie A.

    The Team: Sporting CP

Best possible Starting XI: GK Rui Patricio (81), RB Cedric (73), CB E. Dier (73), CB M. Rojo (76), LB Jefferson (73), CDM F. Rinaudo (77), CM A. Martins (74), CM Adrien (76), RW A. Carillo (77), ST F. Montero (74), LW D. Capel (79)

Key player: CDM Fabian Rinaudo, if he fails at stopping the oppositions attack from his CDM position then Selvy9 might have to alter his formation and play without a CDM as the back up William Carvalho (70) might be too inexperienced for Serie B.

Position Battles: CM A. Martins (74) vs. CAM Z. Labyad (75)
CB E. Dier (73) vs. CB Mauricio (72)

The Manager: Selvy9 career record of 17-11-8. Best season 10-8-2 in Serie B (S10) good enough for 5th, 3 points out of promotion.

Outlook: Selvy9 played well enough to gain promotion last year, falling 3 pts short of 4th place (with all the drops 4 teams gained promotion). That loss in Matchday 21 to UcanHateMeNow proved to be costly. As those 3 pts might have been enough to get Selvy9 to Serie A. That alongside the tie in Matchday 13 against Kella kept Selvy9 in Serie B. He has chosen an underrated Portuguese side this season. Freddy Montero up top should be a dangerous player and trying to beat Rui Patricio will be quite difficult. Selvy9 figures to be up there in the Championship and promotion battle. He did well enough in the Coppa Tradizione, losing in PK's in the quarters, to garner himself as a legitimate threat.

    The Team: Athletic Bilbao

Best possible Starting XI: GK Iraizoz (74), RB Iraola (78), CB Mikel San Jose (76), CB Gurpegi (75), LB Balenziaga (75), CM Beñat (81), CM Iturraspe (77), CAM A. Herrera (79), RW Susaeta (78), ST Aduriz (79), Muniaín (78)

Key player: ST Aduriz. Will he score enough goals? He has quality playmakers around him, scoring duties will be left to him. If he can't score than Kike Sola (73) or Toquero (70) may get a go.

Position Battles: CM Iturraspe (77) vs. CAM De Marcos (77) vs. CDM Mikel Rico (75)

The Manager: vipermansa career record of 56-62-19. Best season 13-2-3 in Serie B (S5) Champion. Last season went 8-7-5 29 pts, good enough for 6th and a mid table finish.

Outlook: vipermansa started out his tenure at TFS extremely well, as he posted winning records in 3 of his first 4 seasons for a combined record of 43-28-7. His other 3 campaigns, with the exception of last season, have been dreadful. He has gone 13-34-12, take in mind that he went 8-7-5 last season, so the question is which vipermansa will show up? He played well last year for a mid table finish, as well as going undefeated in his Copa Tradizione group. His group though was one of the easiest in the tourney, this proved right when he got destroyed in the Rd. of 16 5-1. His experience at this point may outweigh his skill set, will he get enough key points to stay in the promotion battle?

The Team: Club Atlético Boca Juniors

    Best possible Starting XI: GK A. Orion (77), RB L. Marín (65), CB D. Díaz (78), CB G. Burdisso (74), LB E. Insua (71), CDM F. Gago (79), RM F. Cangele (76), LM J. Sanchez Miño (75), CAM J. Riquelme (79), ST E. Gigliotti (77), ST J. Martinez (75)

Key Player: CAM Juan Roman Riquelme. Boca Jrs. will go as far as their captain will take them. Riquelme will try and lead in assists as this playmaker still has some serious passing skills.

Position Battles: ST J. Martinez (75) vs. ST N. Blandi (72)
    CB G. Burdisso (74) vs. CB M. Caruzzo (74)

The Manager: Guayo10 career record of 11-1-2. Best season and only season in TFS 11-1-2 in Serie C (S10) Champion.

Outlook: Guayo10 ran away with the Serie C title last season, as well as an epic run throughout the Coppa Tradizione which came to an end in the semifinals, as he went down in PK's. Beating Serie A & B teams all throughout the tourney, including a 1-0 win over fellow Serie B member Kella in the Rd. of 16. Will he be able to run through Serie B like he did in Serie C? Either way, the Coppa Tradizione and Super Coppa run proved that he is a quality opponent to anyone.

Good enough to stave Relegation, but good enough for promotion?

    The Team: Norwich City

    Best possible Starting XI: GK I. Ruddy (78), RB R. Martin (73), CB M. Turner (74), CB S. Bassong (76), LB Garrido (73), RM R. Snodgrass (75), CM A. Tettey (74), CM L. Fer (76), LM N. Redmond (72), CF J. Elmander (75), ST R. van Wolfswinkel (76)

Key player: LM Nathan Redmond, if the pacey winger can't deliver on the wing than watch for manager Kella to maybe switch up the formation to give CAM W. Hoolahan (75) more playing time.

Position Battles: ST R. van Wolfswinkel (76) vs. ST G. Hooper (74)
LB Garrido (73) vs. LB M. Olsson (73)

The Manager: Kella career record of 14-11-8. Best season 8-5-1 in Serie C (S9) finished 3rd. Last season went 6-6-7 25 pts, good enough for 7th place.

Outlook: Heading into his 3rd campaign Kella will be beginning his 2nd season in Serie B. He finished in 3rd in his first year in Serie C to win promotion to B. Last season he was terribly inconsistent in both Coppa and Serie B matches. He had highs a 2-1 defeat over Serie A shiftee in the group stage. He had lows losing to guayo10 in the Rd. of 16, as well as dropped points against Frenchie1916. If Kella can find some sort of consistency they will be fighting for promotion. As of now he has shown neither, a mid table finish should be a solid campaign for Kella, as he should avoid relegation.

    The Team: PSV Eindhoven

    Best possible Starting XI: GK J. Zoet (76), RB S. Arias (71), CB J. Bruma (72), CB K. Rekik (73), LB J. Willems (73), CM G. Wijnaldum (78), CM S. Schaars (76), CM A. Maher (77), RW J. Park (79), ST T. Matavž (74), LW L. Narsingh (76)

Key player: CM Georginio Wijnaldum, he is the playmaker of the team. Might be the most important piece of the 3 headed midfield. If he fails, you may see a formation switch to get CAM O. Toivonen (76) in the squad.

Position Battles: GK J. Zoet (76) vs. GK P. Tyton (76)
    ST T. Matavž (74) vs. ST J. Locadia (73)

The Manager: redwings8831 career record of 59-61-30. Best season 13-3 in Serie C (S7) Champion. Last season 6-10-4 22 pts, good enough for 8th place and 13 pts ahead of the relegation spots.

Outlook: redwings8831 has not had a winning season since his time in Serie C, when he went 13-3. His last 3 campaigns have been sub-par, as Serie B has proven to be too tough for him. He has gone a combined 21-30-9, with 3 losing seasons. To fight for promotion he will need to break his streak of finishing under .500. He did allow 42 goals last year, most in Serie B. Will need to tighten up the defense if he truly wants to fight for a spot in Serie A. He should be able to stick around 6/7th which would save him from relegation.

    Uh-Oh Relegation?

    The Team: VFB Stuttgart

    Best possible Starting XI: GK S. Ulreich (79), RB D. Schwaab (74), CB K. Haggui (74), CB G. Niedermeier (75), LB A. Boka (74), RM M. Harnik (77), CM C. Gentner (77), CM W. Kvist (76), LM I. Traore (76), CF A. Maxim (75), ST V. Ibisevic (79)

Key player: ST Vedad Ibisevic, he will be the lone striker in the squad if the original formation stays. Should have lots of chances as the wing players and CF A. Maxim will try to assist him as much as possible.

Position battles: ST V. Ibisevic (79) vs ST. M. Abdellaoue (78) vs Cacau (77).
    CAM D. Didavi (75) vs. CAM A. Maxim (75)

The Manager: Frenchie1916 career record of 31-75-43. Best season 8-5-5 in Serie C (S6) finished 3rd. Last season 1-13-6 9 pts, finished in 11th place.

Outlook: Relegation favourite. Frenchie1916 managed one win last term, in all competitions. He scored a total of 13 goals in 23 matches. A championship and promotion spots are truly out of the question, can he muster more than a win this term? He has to as another campaign like the last one will lead to relegation to Serie C.

    The Team: Olympique de Marseille

    Best possible Starting XI: GK S. Mandanda (83), RB R. Fanni (76), CB N. Nikoulou (81), CB S. Diawara (75), LB J. Morel (75), CDM A. Romao (76), CDM G. Imbula (74), RM D. Payet (80), LM A. Ayew (80), CAM M. Valbuena (82), ST A. Gignac (78)

Key Player: ST Andre-Pierre Gignac, will be in charge of scoring for Marseille. Go Devils has 2 quality strikers on the bench in S. Khalifa (75) and J. Ayew (73), just in case Gignac fails.

Position Battles: CB S. Diawara (75) vs. CB Lucas Mendes (74)

The Manager: Go Devils career record of 43-96-39. Best season 8-7-3 in Serie B (S1) finished 5th. Last season 4-13-3 15 pts, finished in 10th just 6 pts ahead of 11th.

Outlook: Can there be two relegation favourites? Go Devils did better than Frenchie1916 last season, but not by much. He did get 4 wins in Serie B, as well as a semifinals appearance in the Coppa Confederazione. Go Devils will need to steal points early in the season to stave away relegation. Must wins will also be in place when playing other relegation candidates such as UcanHateMeNow Frenchie1916 and YNWA96. Dropping points to them will most likely doom Go Devils and send him down to Serie C.

    The Team: Hannover 96

    Best possible Starting XI: GK R. Zieler (78), RB S. Cherundolo (73), CB C. Schulz (75), CB S. Sane (72), LB C. Pander (74), CDM L. Andreassen (74), CDM E. Prib (74), RM L. Stindl (77), LM S. Huszti (79), ST D. Ya Konan (78), ST M. Diouf (79)

Key Player: GK Ron-Robert Zieler, he has a pretty weak back line in front of him. Forwards will get past this defense, he will be in charge of keeping them out of the scoreboard. Clean sheets will be key to this team.

Position Battles: CB S. Sane (72) vs. CB Felipe (72) vs. CB Marcelo (71)
    CDM M. Schmiedebach (74) vs. CDM L. Andreassen (74) vs. CDM E. Prib (74)
CF J. Schlaudraff (77) vs. ST D. Ya Konan (78) vs. ST M. Diouf (79)

The Manager: YNWA96 career record of 9-2-3. Best season and only season in TFS 9-2-3 in Serie C (S10) finished 2nd.

Outlook: A newcomer to Serie B YNWA96 won't find as much success as he did in Serie C. Unlike fellow newcomer and Serie C Champion guayo10 fighting for promotion may not be too realistic. YNWA96 did have an impressive 9-2-3 record in Serie C, however none of his 2 losses where to guayo10. Which may seem impressive, but it means he lost 6 points to the other Serie C participants. Also went winless in the Coppa matches, losing to Serie A members as well as Kella. Going 0-4 against non Serie C opponents questions whether or not YNWA96 is ready for Serie B. Staying out of the relegation battle may be #1 priority for YNWA96.

    The Team: Seattle Sounders

    Best possible Starting XI: GK M. Gspurning (74), RB D. Yedlin (65), CB J. Hurtado (65), CB D. Traoré (71), LB M. Burch (63), RM M. Rosales (73), CM B. Evans (68), CM O. Alonso (76), LM C. Dempsey (81), ST O. Martins (77), ST E. Johnson (73)

Key Player: LM Clint Dempsey, he will need to put this team on his back to attempt to carry them out of the relegation battle. Seattle is the weakest team, on paper, in Serie B.
Position Battles: CB J. Hurtado (65) vs. CB Z. Scott (65)
    LB M. Burch (63) vs. LB L. Gonzalez (62)

The Manager: UcanHateMeNow career record of 47-109-31. Best season 8-7-4 in Serie B (S9) finished in 5th. Last season 5-11-3 18 pts, finished in 9th just 9 pts ahead of 11th.

Outlook: The only Serie B member that has been here from Season 1 UcanHateMeNow will try to avoid being relegated to Serie C once more. Only managed 5 wins last season, but did manage to make it to the Rd. of 16. There is talent there, can UcanHateMeNow put it all together and surprise everyone by making it back to Serie A? Maybe, a relegation battle is more than probable though.

Damn I didn't know Cangele went to Boca. He is a great dribbler and somewhat decent finisher. I used to be a fan of him, but he is constantly injured.

    Fight for the Title
    Boca Juniors
Outscored opponents 6-1, outshot them 26-8, 53% avg possession. Emanuel Gigliotti leads the division and team with 4 goals through 3 matches. Unlucky to not have 9 of 9. Not much more to say.

Upcoming week: 3 matches are scheduled but as of now only 2 will be played. He takes on godevils and redwings. As well as the selvy, who's game has been ppd. The match day 6 vs redwings will feature the top 2 teams after week 1 (standings wise)

Coppa: Tied 1-1 with HokieNYC, not a bad result to start off the group of death

Outlook: Guayo10 has yet to lose in this young season, a tie against a Serie A squad has given him a boost of confidence. 6 points in week 2 may see him start to pull away from the rest of the group.
    Hannover 96
Lost to Boca in La Bombonera. Beat promotion favourites Beshiktas. Can they keep getting points?

Upcoming week: They get two easy matches and one against undefeated PSV. Parma and Stuttgart will be looking to pull of an upset. The match against PSV will tell us who of these teams will remain in the promotion hunt.

    Coppa: Yet to play

Outlook: Went into La Bombonera and got out played by guayo10. The following matchup YNWA96 defeated promotion favourites BESHIKTAS 2-0. Is this team ready for a promotion battle? After one week it maybe deja vu all over again. As a chase for #1 might be over after week 2 if guayo10 continues his perfect run.
    PSV Eindhoven
Outshot opponents 44-22. Those opponents. Marseille, Parma and Stuttgart. Dropped 2 points to them, might hurt in the long run. Can't tell if they are for real or just a tad better than the bottom half.

Upcoming week: Take on Seattle, Hannover and Boca. Hannover is number 2 in the power rankings and Boca number 1. We'll find out if they will be fighting for the promotion or just another mid table run.

Coppa: Drew 1-1 with pitt4life21 in the group of life.

Outlook: Weak schedule thus far led to 7 points, the tie in the Coppa match shows us that redwings8831 may be over his head if he's thinking title. Those 2 drop points may come back to hurt him in the long run.
Snuck away from La Bombonera with a point, then went on to lose to Hannover. Won't be pushing the panic button just yet, but with another sub par week QPR will be looking at a mid table finish.

Upcoming week: Stuttgart, Parma and Athletic Bilbao. Anything less than 6 points would be a disappointed and a massive blow to their promotion chances. Game against Bilbao may eliminate one from championship contention.

    Coppa: yet to play

Outlook: BESHIKTAS has 1 point out of 6. Dropping points to a team that was thought to be in the relegation battle in YNWA96. You can't clinch a title or promotion early, but you sure can lose it. Another weak week and we will be seeing BESHIKTAS in Serie B next year.
    Athletic Bilbao
Lost 3-0. Won 4-0. Sadly the 3-0 lost came to promotion favorites Boca, while the win came off of relegation favorites Parma. Bilbao seems destined for a mid table finish.

Upcoming week Hannover 96, Marseille and QPR. 2 tough matches and a winnable one. 4 points might be the aim for Bilbao here. Although they can realistically come out of the week with 1 or none.

Coppa: lost to Zikry 2-1. A tie against gutnedawg may seem him crash out of the competition early. Ouch.

Outlook: No silverware this year for vipermansa? Tough way to start off the season. Tough week upcoming. The promotion places may run away with it early if he fails to get some points this week.
    VFB Stuttgart
    Draws. That is all. Ties.

Upcoming week: QPR, Seattle and Hannover. Tough week coming up for Frenchie. 4 points this week may lead to a mid table spot for Frenchie.

    Coppa: yet to play

Outlook: Frenchie1916 at the moment sits far away from the relegation places. Thanks in part that UcanHateMeNow and Selvy9 have yet to play a match. For now he will keep smiling from ear to ear. Another 2/4 points this week may help him reach his goal of avoiding the drop this season.
Lost a narrow one against redwings8831 and tied Frenchie1916. Missed opportunities to avoid the drop? Yes.

Upcoming week: Bilbao, Boca, and Sporting. A point or two might be too much to ask. Tough week for godevils.

Coppa: Lost 3-0 to Cimmy24, in danger of being eliminated in Match Day 2.

Outlook: Go Devils has some work to do. He is a point ahead of two teams that have yet to play a game. The schedule doesn't help him as he goes up against vipermansa, guayo10 and theoretically Selvy9. He shall dream of three points, yet being able to get two would be amazing.
Two tough losses to redwings8831 and vipermansa

Upcoming week: Hannover 96, Seattle and QPR. Parma has two tough matches coming up. A point or two might be there. Will need it or relegation may come sooner rather than later.

Coppa: Lost to RedAL925 3-0. Also in danger of being eliminated in Match Day 2.

Outlook: Geneseo98 may need the lad from the picture to avoid relegation this season. Has another tough week ahead of him. Were he could damage someones promotion hopes if he gets a win.
    Nowhere to be found
    Seattle Sounders & Sporting CP
Neither has yet to play a game.

    The Promotion

    1.Boca Jrs.

    Last week: 1

Still undefeated, but must be troubled by the lack of scoring. Best defense in all of TFSerie as they have a shot at a clean sheet every game out.

Highlight of the week: 0-0 draw at PSV Eindhoven. Dominated the match, unlucky to not win.

This week: vs Parma and at Stuttgart. 6 points this week is a must, anything less than that may truly damage their title hopes.

    2.PSV Eindhoven

    Last week: 3

Another of the undefeated teams and currently leading the table. Can redwings8831 maintain this undefeated pace?

Highlight of the week: 0-0 draw vs Boca Jrs. Stole a point a home to remain unbeaten and in the hunt for the title.

This week: vs QPR and at Athletic Bilbao. With QPR's current form 3 points should be obtainable. Then we have the match of the week against Athletic Bilbao. An undefeated week will see them stay in first, drop points and Boca Jrs. should over take them.

    3.Athletic Bilbao

    Last week: 5

After an awful start, lost 3-0 to Boca Jrs., vipermansa has gone 4-0 with convincing wins. Will they keep on winning?

Highlight of the week: Beat Sporting CP 1-0. Important win to keep them in the promotion hunt.

This week: at Stuttgart and vs PSV Eindhoven. 3 points are a must from their trip to Germany. After that we have the match of the week against PSV. A tie may be a good result, but the winner should maintain pace for the #1 spot.

    Contenders or Pretenders or?

    4.Seattle Sounders

    Last week: 9/10

UcanHateMeNow finally played a game. One won and lost one. Promotion candidates or relegation candidates? Time will tell.

Highlight of the week: defeated Stuttgart 2-0. Might be a sign that a relegation battle may not be in the cards.

This week: at Marseille and at QPR. 6 points? Maybe, 4 would be welcomed by this American squad.

    5.VFB Stuttgart

    Last week: 6

Frenchie1916 may set a record for wins this season, currently has 1 and we have barely begun. Slowly but surely he will continue this and avoid relegation no?

Highlight of the week: Beat Hannover 96 1-0. Shocking win as the pundits were sure that Hannover 96 would achieve at least a point.

This week: vs Athletic Bilbao and vs Boca Jrs. Surely 2 points is the goal? Playing 2 of the hottest teams at the moment. Stuttgart will look to pull of the upset of the season on Match Day 8 against Boca Jrs.

    6.Sporting CP

    Last week: 9/10

Selvy9, like UcanHateMeNow, finally began its season. 2 points out of 3 matches is rough and should damage their promotion hopes just a tad.

Highlight of the week: Stole a point from Boca in a scoreless 0-0 draw.

This week: @Hannover 96 and vs Parma. 6 points may be a must to stay in the promotion hunt.

    7.Hannover 96

    Last week:2

YNWA96 has yet to be able to display his form that brought him up from C. The lost against Stuttgart may have killed his promotion dreams.

Highlight of the week: 1-0 win vs. Parma. Did lose a close one to PSV, but close means nothing in the points race.

This week: vs Sporting CP and at Marseille. Should be a cracker against Sporting CP. The match against Marseille is key for both sides. Relegation is at stake.

    Last week: 7

Go Devils was able to get a point out of 9. Currently sit with 3 points out of 18, they will need to pick it up to avoid relegation.

Highlight of the week: 1-1 draw against Sporting CP.

This week: vs Seattle and vs Hannover 96. Relegation battles all around, 4 points might help them out a bit. 6 points would be gold.

    Last week: 4

Promotion and title favourites BESHIKTAS has fallen hard. A disappointing start might have left him without a shot at promotion. Relegation?

Highlight of the week: Only played one match, lost 1-0 against Bilbao.

This week: at PSV Eindhoven and vs Seattle. Has a tough match against PSV, but can he stop their unbeaten streak? The match against Seattle may be a must win at this point.

    Last week: 8

Geneseo98 is still searching for his first points.

Highlight of the week: Only played one match, a 1-0 loss to Hannover 96.

This week: at Boca Jrs and at Sporting CP. It doesn't get easy for Parma as they have to travel to Argentina and Portugal. Their game at Sporting might be their best chance at a point since Sporting has already been involved in 2 draws.
