Hamburg Stunned By Pair Of Late Cagliari Goals To Force Draw
Hamburg played host to Italian side Cagliari, and Coach Bronc was looking to get back at a Cagliari team that defeated him twice a sesaon ago. Hamburg looked good throughout the match, maintaining possession and leading for most of the match when Petr Jiracek opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Lasogga doubled the lead in the 81st minute, and the win looked secured with less than 10 minutes remianing. However, "If there's one team that scares you in the final few minutes of a match, it's a Zikry-managed team," said Coach Bronc. "When he needs to take it to another level, you better be ready for a tornado to hit." And unfortunately for the Hamburglars, that tornado found its way to Imtech Arena. In the 84th minute, Ibraimi hit a splendid shot into the top corner of the net despite taking the shot somewhat off-balance to cut the lead to one. Then in stoppage time, Cagliari won their 5th corner of the game, and Victor Ibarbo headed in the game-tying goal. "It's one of those punched-in-the-stomach type of losses," Coach Bronc went on to say, "but I'm confident we'll be able to bounce back in our next match." A bright point for Hamburg on the night was the play of Ola John, playing in his first match following his loan move. John assisted on both of Hamburg's goals and went 17/17 at passing in the midfield.

Ibraimi might just have played himself into starting lineup after that cracking goal. GG Broncos218 at 2-0 I thought it just wasn't meant to be but somehow I was able to steal that point
