    Olympiakos vs Cruz Azul

    Olympiakos: 1 Cruz Azul: 2
A cold, wet, stormy night in Greece, Cruz Azul entered its first ever Coppa Tradizione match with butterflies in their stomachs. The game started at a slow pace, with possession going back and forth and not much ground being given. After the 1st going scoreless, in the 63rd minute Joao Rojas was able to make a run up the right wing, out sprinting the defenders all the way up to the goal where he was able to power one by. But Olympiakos would bounce back. After narrowly missing on a couple of powerful headers they were able to come through when A. Samaris scored a goal in the 71st minute. The game seemed like a forgone conclusion for a tie till a foul in the 83rd minute against Olympiakos set up the opportunity for a set piece. In a cheeky move, J. Dominguez was able to squeak by a defender and put a shot on goal and past the keeper to seal a win for Cruz Azul.

ok, no worries this time around. in the future tho, go to the player ratings screen post-match, and you can scroll down to see assist totals (if you want to see who exactly assisted a specific goal, you can use that info & then look at the replay too, but the only thing required is just who had goals and who had assists). For MOTM, a gold ball should be next to someone's name.

pitt4life21 almost got out of this one with a point, as a strong defensive effort kept Sevilla from getting many good chances, despite the Spaniards dominating the stat sheet. In the 88th minute, Rakitic was able to sky over a Villa defender to head in the only goal of the match.

Swansea steals three points on the road in Seattle holding on for over three quarters of the match before capitalizing on one of their few chances beating the Sounders on the counter with fullback Lamah finding Bony open in front of the net for a header securing the win for the Swans and the only goal of the game. Seattle was unable to gain results with their speedy attack lead by speedy attacker Obafemi Martins, while center-half Chico Flores shut down any and all attempts of the MLS outfit to go over the top, owning the air. GG Selvy9 , on another day you might have won this by two goals.

Swansea makes it six out of six so far early on in the Coppa beating the likes of Seattle and now Bilbao. This one was very close throughout and it was only a Goalazzo by fullback Roland Lamah coming in off the wing that pushed this match in the Swans favor. Their switch back to a 4-1-4-1 has really helped to choke off opposing wing play and the bombs-away play that plagued Serie B in Season 12. Nathan Dyer is really starting to come into his own using the threat of his pace to open holes in the opponent third. Disappointing play of the game was Michu being hamfisted wide-open in front of the net on the break as Emnes shassed a ball to him with no one but the back of the net in his way. A wild game. PSV Eindhoven started strong, and earned a penalty after a late challenge by G. Flores. The resulting spot kick from S. Schaars was well-saved by J. Corona. Things got even more bananas as 10-man Cruz Azul took the lead through M. Pavone, who bundled home a rebound from a corner kick. But it was PSV Eindhoven who were gifted a 2nd opportunity from the spot when L. Perea charged down J. Locadia in the box. J.S. Park took the ball from Schaars and panenka'd his way onto the score sheet, leveling the match at the half. Schaars would earn his redemption in the 67' with a long-range blast, and the visitors locked down on defense to preserve the 3 points.

Parma Picks Away At a Sloppy Guzan
The last time these two managers faced off - last season's Coppa group stage - it was pitt4life's Gremio side that held a 1-0 halftime lead. Coach Bronc made sure his side wouldn't be needing another second half comeback this time around though. Biabiany opened the scoring for Parma in the 3rd minute, but it didn't take long for Benteke to answer back for Villa. The game was still 1-1 at the 40th minute, but then a flurry of goals in the final 5 minutes of the first half saw Parma take a commanding 4-1 lead into the half. Cassano scored in the 58th minute off of a deflection and into an open net, and his goal all but sealed the game for Parma. The game ended 5-1, and while Coach Bronc liked his side's performance in this match, he doesn't want to see a complacency-type of attitude settle in for Parma. "We got a nice win here," said Coach Bronc, "but it also helps when the opposing GK seems to deflect shots right to opposing attackers for some easy goals. We took advantage of those opportunities, and that's the type of play I want to see from the lads game in and game out." Parma is now level with Marseille atop the Group D standings (although Marseille currently owns the tiebreaker), but a final group stage match against Sevilla still has the potential to make or break Parma's chances of advancing to the Coppa Tradizione knockout stage.

    gg pitt4life21

Following a Guzan save, Jonathan Biabiany rebounds his own shot attempt and follows it up with a goal in the 3rd minute.

With Biabiany running toward Guzan, a short cross is played to ST Amauri, who completes the play for a 4-1 lead just before the half

Parma-Sevilla Draw Further Clouds Group D Picture
A win for Parma in their final group stage match would secure them a place in the Coppa Tradizione knockout stage, while a loss would likely knock out the Italian team. A draw still likely sees Parma advance though, so they'll certainly be content with today's draw with Sevilla. Biabiany opened the scoring with a nice shot, but it didn't take long for Kevin Gameiro to equal Biabiany's tally. As Parma failed to take the lead again, the Italian side begin to look more defensive over the final few minutes. Sevilla nearly stunned in the closing minutes, narrowly missing an open shot. But the match ended 1-1 and Parma's chances at reaching the Coppa Tradizione knockout stage look good. Piotr Trochowski earned MOTM honors against his former manager, and Marko Marin also took the pitch after once helping Coach Bronc win a Serie A title seasons ago.
