PSV Eindhoven played 89 minutes of perfect football against the league leaders, only to see a precious 3 points slip away in the last moments of the match. The home side were content to defend and counter against the Russian powerhouse, taking a page from the opposition's own playbook. A smart run by J. Willems caused a foul, and on the resulting set piece, T. Matavz was first to a parried save to put his team ahead. With time winding down, Eindhoven defended for their lives, but could not prevent CSKA Moscow from getting an equalizer. Z. Tosic found himself alone vs J. Bruma on the wing, and his cross was inch-perfect towards the head of a streaking S. Doumbia. The Ivorian out-jumped Willems for the game-tying goal, crushing the spirits of a jubilant crowd.

Parma Can't Break Lyon In Goalless Draw
Parma came into today's match looking to get back at Lyon after Lyon came away victorious in the first matchup between the two sides this season, but neither team was able to muster up a goal in today's match. The two teams combined for 4 shots on target, but Mirante and Lopes managed to end the match with clean sheets for their respective clubs. "I thought we had a good flow to our offense, especially after we tweaked our formation part way through the second half," said Coach Bronc, "but 90 minutes simply wasn't enough time for us to break down the Lyon defense. They prevented any quality attempts and made it difficult for us." Parma's title hopes remain alive despite the draw with two matches remaining, but pending results from the two Moscow clubs could quickly alter the Serie A table. Parma will play Sao Paulo later this matchweek and then conclude the season next matchweek against CSKA Moscow.

PSV Eindhoven were able to come away with 3 points in a defensive affair in Lyon. As is the case in many of Eindhoven's matches this season, the visitors were content to possess, while the home side looked for the counter. But it was as counter-attacking goal that broke the deadlock, as G. Wijnaldum's inch-perfect pass found the just-onside M. Depay. The winger's shot was deflected by the onrushing keeper, but the rebound trickled through to an open net. Lyon pressed hard for an equalizer in the final moments of the game, and almost had it through Lacazette and Briand, but their chances would go begging.
