Please post results here. The format and stats we want can be found here. Winning team posts, home team in the event of a draw. Goal differential DOES NOT MATTER in league play. Games with a goal differential of 5 or more will automatically be reviewed for unsportsmanlike conduct.

    Week 1 Matchday 1

In a tightly contested battle neither side budged. Each side saw opportunities come but they were usually swept away but a timely challenge or a shot taken directly into the keeper's breadbasket. The cleanest opportunity came when Jack Colback was on the receiving end of a devilish thru ball but by the time he could get his wits to him the keeper was already baring down on him to make the save. Great game Macri

Match day 2 was underway and manager Macri was determined to get a result this time after coming off a nil nil draw in day 1.
Hellas Verona took a quick lead in the 8th minute with a goal by Romulo and followed up with a 2nd goal in the 1st half stoppage time. At that point, Verona had taken a commanding lead and their defense had not let a shot go through the entire half.
In the 2nd half, Werner completed a clear run down the flank off a throw in and buried the ball behind the keeper after getting past, not 1, but two Verona defenders. Hellas then stepped up their game and continued on the attack having great scoring opportunities and hitting 2 posts in the process.
Game ended 2-1 as Hella Verona win their home opener!

Obviously Bruzzese had one clean sheet. I assume Kasper Schmeichel had the other?

MatchDay 2 sees the French sides come together in a meaningful Serie C tilt in what some were coining the Battle for France.
This game lived up to the hype as well as supporters from both sides enjoyed an attacking display. The Girondins would put ten shots to goal with five finding their mark, finally being rewarded with a goal at the 41st. Gregory Sertic, who started on the bench against Crystal Palace last week would let loose a left footed strike that would find the far post and in to give the homeside the lead near the end of the first half. However,in the 44' Lille would respond back as Bautheac was left unmarked inside the box to shoot across the grain and beat Lefebvre to even the score.
The second half would see Bordeaux continue to attack but not penetrate the Lille backline.
    The Battle for France continues.....

    MOTM - Bakary Sako
BORDEAUX - In the greatest English invasion of French shores since the days of Gold, Juno and Sword, the Eagles of Crystal Palace unleashed fury on Friday night in a display heretofore unseen by manager Frenchie1916 in his 14 previous seasons in the Tradition Soccer League. Palace scored on both their first and last shots of the match in a 5-1 rout of the home Girondins de Bordeaux and long-time friend and rival Lions67 .

"When that first header from the corner went in just three minutes into the match, I felt this could be a special game," Frenchie said. "We scored 4 unanswered goals, hit the woodwork twice more, and when Bordeaux sullied our clean sheet, we responded by putting one more in. I have no idea what happened, but we were just firing on all cylinders."

The cream of the crop came about 2/3 of the way into the match when a poorly cleared ball fell to Palace left winger Bakary Sako about 30 yards from the French net. Sako took two touches and lined up a beautiful dipping shot that was a whisker over the Bordeaux keeper's fingers, yet a hair's breadth under the crossbar. *Video hopefully to follow*

Sako may have been voted the media's Man of the Match with his 9.0 rating, but equally impressive was Jason Puncheon, whose two assists from corners and third on a ginsu-knife through ball to Connor Wickham that put the match well out of reach for the home squad.

"I have to give all credit to Lions67 who played a tremendous match," Frenchie1916 said. "He's a great competitor and a good friend. He could easily have lost his cool at some point, but he kept battling and never let the red mist descend. He said he wasn't ready for me this go 'round, but he's looking forward to our next match. I know he has revenge on his mind."

As promised, Palace's midfield lit up the stadium, providing three goals and three assists. With explosive firepower in the middle of the pitch like this, teams in TSL C will have five threats to contain each and every match.

After opening the season with a draw and a theft of three points in the TSL Cup, Newcastle was looking to continue the good vibrations hosting RSC Anderlecht. The good times were rolling as Newcastle saw the lionshare of possession and shots in the first half before ultimately breaking through when Georgino Wijnaldum beat the keeper for Newcastle's first goal they put in the net themselves in TSL's 18th season. The good times were short lived however as a costly turnover in the middle of the field by the Toon backline proved Anderlecht with an odd man rush that Ezekiel would finish off blasting a shot past Tim Krul to level the score. Neither team would really get a true chance for a winner and Newcastle was forced to settle with its second consecutive draw in league play. Great game PhiGuy179

In the opening week of Season 18 of the TSL Newcastle United was looking to take points in all 3 of their league matches taking on Atalanta in Italy. This was the first match Newcastle had played outside of St. James' Park in their 4 matches this week in all competitions. The Toon Army traveled well showing their support and cheering on their Mags. Newcastle showed a bit of jet lag as the first half went by without anything ever really threatening the home side. It would take nearly a half hour's time in the second half before it would appear the Magpies got their sea legs under them. Summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum struck life in his side once again when he took a Jack Colback pass, took a few touches, and then blasted one into the side netting to put his side up 1-0. Not wanting to fall to a similar fate as they did in MD 2 the Toon stayed aggressive and never really let a center back touch the ball unless it was absolutely necessary. The Geordies continued to seek their second goal when a nice build up found substitute Rolando Aarons in a threatening position where the Jamaican born - English international fired a blast that was popped up into the air by the keeper where Ayoze Perez found himself under the ball to head it in for the winner. Newcastle finishes the opening week with 2 victories (1 in league play, 1 in cup) and 2 draws (both in league). They look to improve on that as both the club and their fans know that points were definitely left on the pitch as well.

    MOTM: Proto anderlecht

With the opening match for anderlecht fans saw some highs and some lows. To start Anderlecht seemed to move the ball much better in the second half after Donmoyer rallied the troops. Donmoyers speech took such affect on the players that Deschacht came out hard and made an unnecessary foul leading to a red card and a pk. Proto was a force to be reckoned with however as he blocked the pk and kept scores tied at nill nill a piece. Later in the match Leicester found the head of Mahrez going them a short lived 1-0 score. Anderlecht pushed on eventually finding Praet with enough space to send a lazer into the back of the net tieing the game at 1 to 1 a piece. That was ultimately the overall flow of this game which led to a stalemate and a point point for each side. Gg Scott
