A new cycle brings many changes to TSL B, with 6 of the 12 managers treading in B waters for the first time in their careers. Most shockingly, we find two of TSL's bosses, RedAL925 and Broncos218, sitting in a division other than A.

Anyway, without further ado, let's begin our team-by-team breakdown of each team, going in alphabetical order of each manager...

First up, we find abolishthefed taking on a new team since he first joined TSL back in season 14. Stade Rennais will rely on their pace up top with wingers Pedro Henrique (85 pace) and Paul-Georges Ntep (91 pace) and striker Giovanni Sio (88 pace). With the ability to bring Juan Quintero, Kamil Grosicki, and French supersub, Yoann Gourcuff off the bench, the Red and Blacks possess a deep roster on the attacking end.

Defensively, the Rennes have 81 overall GK Benoît Costil as the anchor, and 78 and 76 overall CBs Mexer and Sylvain Armand in the middle. Stade Rennais' default formation boasts a 5-man backline but expect Manager Abolish to shuffle that around some to add some depth on the back end and keep defensive legs fresh.

After several heartbreaking finishes in division C, Manager ASinghal31 finally found himself atop the standings with a promotion to B. He chose to stick with the squad he knew best, bringing Lokomotiv with him to contend for a promotion spot in B.

Although EA has yet to update the roster yet, the departure of CAM Mbark Boussoufa is imminent and will surely be a big hit to a Lokomotiv team that named him MVP just two seasons ago. LM Alan Kasaev and RM Alexander Samedov will have increased roles in the offense this season due to Boussoufa's departure. Last season's Serie C MVP, RM Maicon, remains a menace with his pace although he will need to find more ways than just pace to beat the defense this season. Also lost from last season is Roman Pavlyuchenko, who was 2nd on the team in scoring, making Oumar Niasse's job much more important this season.

On defense, 80 overall CB Vedran Ćorluka anchors the middle of a formidable defense that has no starters below a 76 overall. GK Guilherme led TSL in clean sheets last season, but TSL B brings about a whole new challenge for him and the rest of the defense that played a large part in Lokomotiv's promotion.

Possibly the most surprising newcomer to B this season is none other than Broncos218, who enjoyed his fair share of success in A over the seasons. Even more surprising to some was his decision to take on a Genoa squad in poor form after the transfer of their top player, M'Baye Niang, to AC Milan. However, a deeper dive into the squad shows that Manager Bronc, who prides himself on defense, may have had good reason to pick them. Genoa's defense is no joke, as 81 overall GK Mattia Perin, 79 LB Cristian Ansaldi, and 77 RB Diogo José Figueiras lead the way.

Offensively, Genoa, due to the loss of Niang, lacks a quality true striker but still possess plenty of quality wingers and midfielders that should hopefully be able to fill the void left up top. Genoa might struggle to score this season, but with a stingy defense in a defense-heavy game, they may not have to.

Calhockey10 put himself in rare company when he pulled off the C-to-B-to-A feat in just 3 seasons. However, his luck ran out as soon as he reached A, putting together arguably the worst season in TSL history, mustering just 3 points in 20 games of division A play with a -52 (!!!!) goal differential. Another season in B, and with new competition, Manager Cal hopes to have a better finish than he did last season where he narrowly missed relegation.

Sunderland boasts a scary attacking squad with 79 overall ST Jermain Defoe, RM Adam Johnson, and LM Jeremain Lens. Midfield depth also means that opposing teams may have to look out for fresh legs at all teams.

The backline for Sunderland is the weak link of the team with only one player (78 overall CB Younès Kaboul) over a 75 rating. On top of a weak backline, Sunderland lacks a strong GK to clean up defensive mistakes. Manager Cal will have his hands full trying to keep opposing teams from scoring in bunches against him.

Despite having the 12th pick in the TSL draft this season, hokie79 managed to grab one of the most balanced teams in the league.
A strong GK (80 overall Guillermo Ochoa), 78 overall CB Welington, 81 overall CDM Camacho headline a formidable defense. Málaga also possesses a plethora of attacking options with 3 strikers rated 75 or higher and 73 overall CAM Duda who looks much dangerous than his rating indicates.

78 overall ST Nordin Amrabat headlines the attack with a great combination of pace, dribbling, and above-average finishing. While Málaga has the attacking strength to score in bunches, the question remains whether Manager Hokie79 will be able to utilize his plethora of midfielders properly to get the ball to his playmakers.

For the 3rd straight season, John O'Connor will be managing the fighting Brad Guzans, but the recent promotion to TSL B will prove to be a new challenge.

Aston Villa's defense revolves around the center of their backline, with two excellent CBs (79 overall Micah Richards and 78 overall Joleon Lescott), and, of course, American GK Brad Guzan in net sending away almost every shot that comes his way. With a strong defense in a game where defense is king, it seems apparent that Jocko will have his fair share of success defensively.

Villa's offense will see a new look as their leading goal-scorer from last season, Christian Benteke, is on a new team. Jocko will most likely replace Benteke's scoring prowess with 74 overall ST Gabriel Agbonlahor, who was the 2nd leading scorer for Jocko's Villa team last season. However, with pace being toned from FIFA 15, the effectiveness of Agbonlahor will certainly be something to watch.

The next manager on our list is Jugster, who just so happened to be one of the most vocal ones regarding the rule changes in TSL. With his former Stoke City team receiving the 4.5* team bump, Jugster was forced to enter the draft where he was given the 11th pick. Despite this, Jugster somehow came away with arguably the best attacking team in all of TSL.

Atlético Mineiro is led by 79 overall ST Lucas Pratto who, with his 82 finishing and 87 strength, should be a menace for opposing defenses. Add in the abundance of quality attacking midfielders (5 players rated 75 or higher), offense will not be an issue for this Brazilian squad.

It's the defense, though, that may ultimately be the downfall of this otherwise strong Atlético Mineiro side. 78 overall CB Leonardo Silva and 79 overall GK Victor hold down the defense but with very limited depth of quality defenders on the roster, it will take a heroic effort from the backline throughout the season to keep this Atlético Mineiro team from having to score in bunches.

pitt4life21, who was known for his love for speedy offensive-minded teams, shocked many by picking Torino FC in the draft. Torino sports one of the best defenses in TSL.

The heart of Torino's defense is right in the middle with 80 overall CB Nikola Maksimović and 82 overall CB Kamil Glik controlling the middle. 79 overall RB Bruno Peres will use his 92 pace to keep the right sideline locked down. The weak links of the defense are 75 overall LB Cristian Molinaro and 76 overall GK Daniele Padelli who will rely on the rest of the back line to limit shot opportunities from opposing defenses.

Torino's offense will rest squarely on 79 overall ST Fabio Quagliarella's shoulders. Although he lacks the speed pitt4life21 has become accustomed to, he possesses traits that Manager Pitt has not had at his disposal yet. Fabio Quagliarella's 83 finishing, 89 shot power, 85 volleys, and 89 long shot will be a task for opponents to stop.

Perhaps the most intriguing and talked about event in the offseason was RedAL925's relegation to B and his efforts to use his commish power to get back to A. To add insult to injury, RedAL had his team stolen from right underneath him in the TSL draft and had to "settle" for a São Paulo team that prides itself on a prolific offense.

With one of the most prolific attacking squads, scoring in bunches seems to be a given if not for the incompetent man behind the sticks (kidding! please don't boot me ). 77 overall ST Luís Fabiano, 78 overall RW Michel Bastos, and 81 ovr LW Alexandre Pato lead the way with 76 overall ST Alan Kardec coming off the bench.

São Paulo's defense leaves a lot to be desired, though, as the highest rated defender currently is 76 overall CB Rodrigo Caio. A weak 73 overall GK Renan Ribeiro means manager RedAL will really have to turn up the defensive intensity this release to be able to stay in contention in TSL B.

redwings8831 brings a balanced Olympiakos squad to TSL B this season. Redwings became known for his use of the 4-2-4 formation in FIFA 15 due to Villarreal's pace up top. Olympiakos possesses similar pace on the offensive end, but it remains to be seen whether manager Redwings will be able to use the 4-2-4 with this team to the same effectiveness that he ran it with Villarreal.

A strong 80 overall GK (Roberto) anchors a team that is lacking in defending talent. With an offense that seems to be dependent on pace, Olympiakos lacks players with good finishing ability. 75 overall ST Alfreð Finnbogason off the bench provides the best ability to score with his 82 finishing but with several players on the roster rated higher, it remains to be seen whether Redwings will opt to use him.

West Ham comes into this season with one of the best starting XI in all of TSL. With 81 overall CAM Dimitri Payet controlling the offense and 78 overall ST Andy Carroll controlling the air raid, scoring won't be an issue for SoFresh_Kev and his offense. 76 overall RM Manuel Lanzini and 76 overall LM Victor Moses use their dribbling ability to attack from the wings while strikers Diafra Sakho, Mauro Zárate, and Nikica Jelavić off the bench provide a variety of scoring options.

The defense, led by 79 overall CB Winston Reid, 75 overall CDM Cheikhou Kouyaté, and 78 overall GK Adrián, rounds out one of the best 4* teams in TSL.

Last but not least, we have UcanHateMeNow and his
Club América squad. UCan has experienced his share of ups and downs in TSL B, from barely missing promotion to A in season 15 to barely missing relegation in season 16 to a 7-7-7 record in season 17.

No player of significance suffered the wrath of ratings drops as much as Carlos Quintero did, going from a 76 overall to a 68 overall, taking hits in almost every category, most noticeably in pace and power. Much of the rest of the team stayed the same, which made Quintero's ratings hit that much more important since Club América was already the lowest rated team in TSL B. The offense will lean on 73 overall winger Michael Arroyo to create opportunities with his dribbling and 77 overall Rubens Sambueza to create with his passing.

The success of the defense hinges on the two Aguilars: 75 overall CB Pablo Aguilar and 75 overall RB Paul Aguilar, while 73 overall GK Moisés Muñoz stands in net to round out Club América's squad.

That's all I have for today. To all of you in TSL B...
