Torino open their TSL C campaign with a 0-0 draw against fellow title contenders Ajax. Both teams had a couple chances to take the lead, but neither were very sharp in front of goal in the early stages of the season.

Torino survive early scare to take 3 points from Columbus. The home side struck first from a corner kick routine, but the MLS visitors would answer just minutes later. A long-range effort from F. Quagliarella would put Torino ahead, and the defense saw out the rest of the match for the full 3 points.

Today marked the first day where Lille's former manager would go up against his old team, after being the boss there for the past 4 seasons. "Yea, I'm a little bit nervous.", said Andanas, as he was coaching practice with his new team, Malaga CF. " But we have a good squad here, so I think we'll have good game.

Lille did dominate the game having 11 shots to 3, and 54% to 46% possession. However Malaga got on the score board first. An errant pass from Tighadouini, was picked off by Basa deep in his end. Before he could get rid of it, Charles stole the ball, and moved in for a one on one with Lille's keeper, Enyeama. Charles definitely did not get all of the shot, and that may have caused Enyeama to mis judge it, as the ball simply rolled in near the left post.

After that, Lille dominated most of the play, and Kameni was forced to make save after save to keep Malaga in the lead. His efforts earned him Man of the Match honors. It wasn't until the 87'th minute when Malaga got the insurance goal they needed. Amrabat made a nice cross into the box for Duda ( who came on in the 70'th minute for Horta), who heads it top left corner, past Enyeama, just off the crossbar and in.

    Good match pitt4life21

Torino are top of the league after road victory in France. The Italians are becoming increasingly dangerous on set pieces, scoring from a corner kick in the 38' to go ahead in the match. Torino added a second from a counter attack started by Man of the Match B. Peres, and finished by Maxi Lopez. The defense limited Bordeaux to tame long shots, and kept their second clean sheet in 3 league matches.

LONDON - Palace start the season with their tails clearly up, looking to get points early in their campaign. Their first match of the season: a London derby against North London rivals Watford. While Watford came out of the gates full bore, they apparently left their shooting boots in the dressing room, as their first several efforts were both high and wide.

Palace capitalized on the visitors' inaccuracy just 17 minutes in when Yohan Cabaye fed a streaking Jason Puncheon down the middle, who cut to his left and fired a 30-yard curler past a diving Giedrius Arlauskis.

Just 13 minutes later, Palace doubled their pleasure when Cabaye got his second helper of the evening, this time feeding Joe Ledley down the left side. Cabaye had to fight through the middle of the pitch, where he momentarily lost the ball, but tenaciously stayed with the defender and regained possession long enough to dish to a rumbling Ledley. Ledley fired across the face of goal for the no-doubter.

Cabaye added a third in the first half five minutes later when Jason Puncheon was brought down in the box, and the Frenchman's penalty was lashed to the keeper's right.

In the second half, Watford tried to right the ship, but the shooting accuracy never came around for the North London squad. Going just 3-for-10 from open play, the Hornets found the crowd more often than they found the frame.

Palace left the final dagger for the last five minutes when Cabaye dished the ball to Pape Souare on the left wing, who spotted halftime substitute James McArthur creeping between the center-backs. Souare's cross was inch-perfect, and McArthur's header was too strong for Arlauskis to hold. McArthuer calmly slotted the rebound home for Palace's fourth of the match and the team's first decisive victory over Feverpitch57 .

"There's no doubt he's had my number for the past season," Frenchie said. "But my boys have spent a lot of time ... a LOT of time ... on the training pitch this offseason, and it finally showed tonight. I have absolute faith that Fever will be out for revenge on our return trip to North London in a few weeks' time."

Malaga - Crystal Palace continued its in-form stylings as as the team took to the road for a Spanish clash against Andanas and Malaga FC. From the outset, the Londoners were looking to keep the momentum going that they'd found against Watford earlier in the week, and they came out firing.

The best chance in the first half came on a late penalty awarded when Jason Puncheon was brought down by Malaga captain Weligton. Yohan Cabaye lashed the ball hard to Carlos Kameni's left, but the Cameroonian keeper guessed correctly and made a strong save on the French midfielder.

The teams entered the dressing rooms drawn at the half, but the visitors had enjoyed the lion's share of possession, passing, shots and shots on target. It seemed only a matter of time before they'd finds a gap in the Spanish defense.

The second half was played almost entirely in the Malaga third, with Palace passing the ball around the area, looking for space from which to fire. When the Spaniards won possession back, they often hoofed the ball upfield in an attempt to regroup, giving Palace the opportunity to come charging back in.

The tactic finally paid off in the 75th minute when, Malaga having cleared the ball to midfield once again, Palace finally found the seam they were looking for. Pape Souare diagonally crossed the ball to the middle of the Malaga half to a waiting Joel Ward, who sent Wilfried Zaha to the edge of the Malaga penalty area. Zaha took on two defenders, but then turned and dished the ball back to Ward on the sideline, so sent a perfect cross in to a waiting Jason Puncheon. Carlos Kameni made a strong challenge and punched the ball away just before Puncheon headed it home, but his momentum carried him into Puncheon and the two went down in a heap. The ball feel to Yannick Bolasie on the opposite corner of the area who launched a looping curler over the prone keeper and two defenders for the game's first goal.

Palace looked to double its lead just two minutes later, but striker Frazier Campbell was ruled (correctly) to be inches offside.

In the dying minutes of the match, Yohan Cabaye tripped over a prone Malaga defender and was awarded a dubious penalty, but the Frenchman refused to put his shot on frame, opting instead to fire the ball into Row Z of the Estadio La Rosaleda.

" Andanas ' defending in this match was a sight to see," Frenchie said. "We were lucky to get the one we did. We were knocking and knocking on the door, but Kameni in particular didn't look like he was going to let us in. We're obviously thrilled to have six early points and two clean sheets. We need to keep this momentum going, because there are some hard matches in our immediate future."

Columbus escapes a near scare with the center backs pulling through each having a goal in this 3-2 win. Dominating the shot total even though they couldn't hit the net the first goal came off of a corner kick where Higuain bent it into the box to find the head of the G. Sauro who headed it past the GK. Then back to back goals by Krasnodar in the 45th and 79th minute had Columbus scrambling. A punched out cross by Krasnodar's keeper landed at the foot of F. Higuain who buried it in the upper 90 just two minutes later tied it up. Then Krasnodar had a breakaway but Steve Clark rushed out to meet him at the PK spot and jumped on the ball as Crew head coach Berhalter called for an all out attack which sent Michael parkhurst all the way up the field. He received a through ball and brought it down and blasted one short side for the game winning goal in the 90th minute to earn the Crew their first three points of the season. These two teams will meet again in Cup group play and if Columbus can manage to get another 3 points it will guarantee them a top two finishing spot in group play.
