Texas A&M is coming off a 13-1 National Championship season and return having high hopes for a repeat. With QB Johnny Manziel and WR Mike Evans returning, the offense still has its big play potential. Although Rose Bowl MVP Ben Malena graduated, the Aggies wont lose any sleep over the RB position. Texas A&M will start Brandon Williams after an impressive end to last season. Backing up Brandon Williams will be Trey Williams who was the Kick returner of the year this past season. The running game also returns bruising fullback Townsend who averaged 8 yards a carry last season, including 65 yards in the Rose Bowl.

The Ag's are also stacked at WR. The Aggies only lost 1 WR in Derel Walker, but they return so many talented reserves that the passing attack will be even more deadly. Look to see more big plays instead of the typical 7-10 yard passes of last year.

The OL took a hit by losing Outland Trophy LT Jake Matthews, but Coach Lewis isnt concerned.

The defense is returning nearly everybody including Kirby Ennis and MLB Donnie Baggs. The Defense was getting comfortable in the 50 set last year and really showed up late in the year by shutting down South Carolina in the SEC championship.

The big games this year have to be the rematch vs LSU. MarkyMark almost spoiled the Aggies championship hopes last year and the Tigers will be looking to duplicate that. An early road test to Tallahassee will be a statement to how the season will continue. Will the offense thrive under new OC Pinkel? Only time will tell.

Clemson Tigers didn't start off that well but finished the season strong with a big win over OSU. After a shacky start losing to UGA 10-31 Tigers got things in gear going 11-2, 1-0 vs rivals and 3-1 vs top 25 teams. Sr Qb Boyd was hurt and Clemson was nervous starting redshirt Fr Kelly who remained the starter for the rest of the season. Senior Sammy Watkins has returned for his senior year to go out on top as ACC and National champions. As a whole Tigers only lost 9 seniors so a lot of guys will be having experience in this upcoming year.

OL will be featuring 2 seniors Tackle Timothy and Guard Beasely should be the anchor for the trenches.

Defense will be stack with 7 seniors starting this year who played last year will be taking names.

Big games to look forward to South Car, FSU and rematch Maryland and possibly a National Championship game. Predictions 12-2 ACC champs

2013 was a positive year for the Hurricanes. After a 10-2 regular season, Miami made its way to the ACC Championship Game before getting whacked by Maryland. Even though they had a piss poor showing in the Russel Athletic Bowl, an 11 win season is something the U had desperately needed to get some energy back into the program.

The offense was stagnant throughout most of the season, but Duke Johnson ended up with 1,200+ rushing yards as the focal point. The defense was undoubtedly the strong point, as they ranked in the top-5 in nearly every defensive category.

2014 will be an intriguing season to say the least. Most members of the defense have returned and star linebacker Denzel Perryman has collected preseason All-American honors. However, many questions remain on the offense. 5-star recruit Derek Riley is expected to start under center this season as a true freshman. He has had many ups and downs in camp so far, but he has far more arm talent than anybody else on the roster.

Duke Johnson will be entering his junior season and also brings preseason All-American honors. The star running back is clearly the best player on this team and will be Riley's crutch all season long.

Miami's young defense has started to mature and the swag has returned. However, the success of a true freshman quarterback will determine how far this team goes. The goal is 10 wins again. Will Riley lead Miami to that mark? We will see...

2013 saw this Bama team struggle out of the gate, largely due to inept coaching across the board. An early season loss to a strong Virginia Tech team, and a thrashing from Texas A&M left the Tide faithful clamoring for a coaching change. In stepped Coach Kasper, and the Tide haven't looked back. With an unblemished start in Tuscaloosa for Kasper, including a big win over LSU last year, big things are expected from this team this year.

The 2014 Crimson Tide is a senior laden team; RB TJ Yeldon, WR Amari Cooper, and C Ryan Kelly are the lone underclassmen starters on offense- RE LaMichael Fanning, MLB Reggie Ragland (SO), and CBs Jabriel Washington and Geno Smith are the young ones on defense. Also, both the K and P will be true freshman (but good ones). There is no doubt about it, after this year this will not be the same Alabama talent wise, so they need to focus and deliver in 2014.

Offensively, the Tide will look to utilize senior Blake Sims' athletic ability with the new pistol offense. It is something new for some of the players- but Alabama has had 4 or 5 pistol formations in the offense the last few seasons, so it isn't completely new. Regardless of what they are doing on offense, look for a big year from Yeldon and Cooper.

On defense, this unit should be very very good. Ha Ha Clinton Dix, Jeoffrey Pagan, and Adrian Hubbard headline a standout unit that should be one of the top units in the country. They are loaded with talent and play the scheme very well- so there are no excuses.

Prediction: It should be a good year.

Florida State won 10 games with a RS Freshman at the helm. Jameis Winston had a decent year as he threw for 2,421 yards and 21 TDs but threw 20 interceptions and rushed for another 147 yards and a TD. The Seminoles were slow to get on track and once they did, they had three losses coming from A&M, Maryland and Clemson. The Noles would end up getting their 10th win against LSU in the Chick Fil A Bowl and lose a few players to the NFL draft.

The offense returns probably about 90-95% of the production with key skill guys that include: HB James Wilder Jr, WR Rashad Greene, WR Kelvin Benjamin and QB Jameis Winston. Three of the five OL will be rated in the 90s with a fourth being at 89 overall. I think you will see better balance and a lot better execution this year.

The defense loses MLB Telvin Smith, OLB Christian Jones and S Terrence Brooks but return all of the DL and corners. Overall I think this will be a better unit than last years team. There will be some inexperience in some places but plenty of talent to go around.

I don't believe any freshman should make a real impact, a few will get play time and most of it will come on special teams. The schedule looks to be one of the toughest, if not the toughest in the nation. The team should be ready and looking to get after it but I guess there should be an expected slip up which will most likely cost the Noles a national title appearance, 13-1 and ACC Champions putting us back into a BCS bowl.

Last season the Maryland Terrapins had a very succesful season which was capped off with an ACC title and a trip to the Orange Bowl. The Terrapins were a young team last year that featured very few seniors. Expectations were low as people expected them to reach about 6 wins. The Terrapins found a way to lose only 1 game in the regular season coming at the hands of UNC. The Terrapins were able to run and pass the ball with great sucess and took home many postseason awards.

After losing only 4 starters on offense and defense, most notably starting QB CJ Brown, the Terps will look to further expand on their success. Running back Wes Brown and QB Ricardo Young lead the backfield. A talented duo that should cause serious headaches for opposing defenses. The wide receiver corps of Maryland is also very talented which will force defenses to stay honest. The Duo of Stefon Diggs and Deon Long is one of the best reciever tandems in the country and will make explosive plays in the passing game. Diggs is also featured as a return specialist and is able to make game changing plays at any moment.

The defense is dominant from top to bottom with the only weakness being the 3rd and 4th CB's. With Maryland's dominant LB corps lead by MLB Cole Farrand and MLB LA Goree, both were Butkist finalists, teams will be forced to find other ways to move the ball. The Defensive line will be getting constant pressure in the backfield and teams will have no choice to air it out where Maryland's taleneted defensive backfield will be waiting.

This team has even more talent than last year's squad, and I think they are capable of repeating last year's success and then some. I believe this team is capable of running the tabel and competing for a National Title, you heard it here first.

    GAME OF THE WEEK

    [IMG] [IMG]

Headline says it all defending champs at home not the way to go. Week 1 Winston vs Manziel could be one that will be remembered for the ages. Aggies are stacked from top to bottom with nothing but athletes, and with Manziel only going into a Jr year boy the road can only get tougher for the rest of the Ncaa. State coming off a 10 win season started off last year tough but managed to get things rolling towards the end. With momentum rolling into Coach Knight hands his team rank #8 a offensive unit that pretty much returned a lot of skilled, and a high rated offensive line.

    KEY GUYS TO WATCH

    [IMG] [IMG]

Predictions A&M keeps things rolling but very close 42-28. Johnny "football" is a beast at quarterback and until he graduate the Aggies will be highly Favorited vs anyone.

South Carolina limps out with a win 60-58

ECU brought the robo QB and he threw for over 650 yards. Cover 3, cover 2, cover 1, man 2, man 0, cover 6 or 4, it didn't matter. If it wasn't a long pass into busted coverage, it was a short pass where the receiver broke through arm tackles and racked up the YAC. The only things that let SCar stay in were a forced fumble, recovered by Victor Hampton, that was good for a defensive score and the onside kick recovery late in the game that allowed the Gamecocks to have a shot at the lead.

Old faces were back to old habits with Dylan Thompson performing just well enough and Brandon Wilds carrying the team (145 rushing yards, 65 receiveing yards, 4 total TDs). The two freshman who didn't get a red shirt had a chance to show that they are the future in Columbia with Big 'Los (Carlos Scales TE 6'7" 249 lbs) scoring his first TD on his first reception and Jeremy Atkins (FB 6'1" 252 lbs) punching his first TD in at the goal line. The defense was porous, but senior Victor Hampton was heavily involved with 9 solo tackles.

Aguayo knocks down the GW FG as time expired.

    =================================

Tallahassee, FL-- The defending National Champions came into Doak Campbell and took control of the game as the first half ended as they decided to forego the FG. Manziel would drop back with a 5 wide spacing call as he hit a quick hitch that would put the Aggies up 14-13 as they would get the ball to start the second half also. Coach Knight wasn't thrilled for them to bypass the points and go for the TD, but at the end of the game he said that was up to Coach LTL and that was his risk/reward play.

A&M used the first drive of the third quarter and it was about the only possession as they chewed up 6:01 as they took a 21-13 lead. FSU's next possession ended in a big interception that setup A&M in plus territory but they would end up losing 12-18 yards and forced to punt the ball back to the Noles. Winston would lead them from the 15 and get into the endzone with 3:44 left in the game with a 2-point conversion separating them from being tied. OC called basically a levels outs with the inside slot, backside TE and backside WR knowing one of them would come open, then A&M sent a blitz as Winston got rid of the ball he was roughed which was enforced on the kickoff.

Knight decided to sky kick the ball and try to force a return and it worked out pretty well as the coverage team would stop the ball carrier at about the 13-15 yard line. The Aggies would pick up a few first downs and then faced a 3rd and 3 I believe it was as they went with an out and slant over the middle which was almost intercepted but batted down to force a fourth down. The Seminoles would have to drive 85+ yards to get the game winner. One big play came from hitting Kelvin Benjamin as he made his 4th grab of the day with a 42 yard reception and then Wilder and company would get Aguayo into FG range for a 41 yard attempt down in the middle of the field.

    CLEMSON VICTORY!

#5 Clemson keeps on rolling as they down #6 UGA to win this year rival match up. Coach Witness before the game was asked about last year stunning lost at Death Valley to Georgia 31-10 his comments " One game at a time and one year at a time." Georgia Qb LeMay had a nice drive until he threw his first interception early on to a well covered receiver. The Tigers knew they need to execute off of turnovers to beat a very good Bulldogs team in which they did. Nice drive put together by Clemson quarterback Kelly that ended in a 8 yard touchdown snatch from Senior Watkins.

Second quarter things looked good for the Tigers way as red hot Kelly thrown another touchdown strike. Across the field to Senior Peake 50 yard bomb who beat the corner off the line to have the Tigers up but not for long. Lemay got a nice drive going getting the ball down the field and beastmode Gurley just giving the Tigers defense trouble. WR Scott Wesley caught a 7 yard pass from LeMay to put the bulldogs on the board. The dawgs started to get things ticking on defense within the last 1 going into haltime UGA scored 5 points getting a defensive safety and driving down field getting a fg 14-12 halftime.

Third quarter was good defense for both teams not much happening. Kelly connected with the speedy WR Hopper for a 50 yard post and ran into the end zone untouched. That was probably the only exciting play that quarter with stingy defense playing a big part of this quarter 21-12 Clemson. Heading into the fourth momentum looks good for the Tigers, but Georgia slowly turned up the heat.

Fourth quarter LeMay got the dawgs back down field, but Gurley came in to finish up scoring a 5 yard run 21-19. Clemson offense and defense showed up for the remaining of the game. Qb Kelly still hot connected on a short zig route to Hopper that ended up going for 75 yards touchdown 28-19. Defense started to get after LeMay sacking him every chance they can get and knocking his pass attempts down. After stellar defense causing LeMay to throw his second int for the day Senior RB for Clemson Howard manage to break a toss to the left side of the field untouched for 24 yard touchdown 35-19. With not much time remaining Bulldogs got stuck in a 4th down attempt on there 20 yard line big defensive stand from the Tigers. Clemson continued to run the clock but only in the end Howard squeezes between the o-line for a 3 yard touchdown run to secure the win for the Tigers 42-19. GG Coach_III I know I'll see you again next year in Death Valey, Sc.

It's easier against a human. Users can't make my 97 overall free safety run around in a circle as the ball comes in.

Ask MarkyMark67 if Clinton-Dix is a good one to pick on, haha.

#9 Virginia Tech hangs on to win season opener 17-10 against Notre Dame.

Va Tech opens the season with a tough Notre Dame team, it was a defensive battle all game as both teams struggled through the air to get anything going. The big difference in the game was rushing yards VaTech would hold a 190 yd to 76 yd advantage led by JC Colemans 98 yds and 1 TD. Tight End Ryan Malleck would have a huge game with 96 yds recieving and 1 TD. Next week: BYE
