Headed to NFC Championship GameVikings knock off Cowboys, 30-24. The Minnesota Vikings got it done today in Dallas as they defeated the #1 seeded Dallas Cowboys, 30-24. The Vikings would start out strong Adrian Peterson fumbled and the Cowboys ran it back for a touchdown. The Vikings would go on a 17-0 run to end the half. In the 2nd half, the teams exchanged field goals. The Cowboys offense would get it going with a 24 yard strike to Dez Bryant to bring it within 3. Longwell would boot another and AP would run it in from 4 yards out to put the game away, 30-17. So we thought, Rob Ninkovich would come out of his lane and Roscoe Parrish bounced it outside and took it to the house to make it a game again, 30-24. With 3 timeouts, the Cowboys elected to kick it deep and force Adrian to beat them. Their chances were pretty good as AP fumbled twice earlier in the game. However, AP would put the team on his back on a 2nd and long and finally put the game out of reach. Ponder would kneel it out to send the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC Champinship game.
Rams Survive, Head back to the NFC ChampionshipBeat Falcons 14-10 St. Louis, Missouri The Rams hosted the Falcons for the second time this year, as both teams would face off in the divisional round for the second year running. In both games previous to this one, the game was low scoring with the Rams just being able to sneak the W, and this would be no different. The Rams were able to score on their first offensive drive as Sam Bradford found Plaxico Burress for a 33 yard score to put the home team up 7-0. That would be all the scoring in the 1st quarter though as both teams stood firm. The Rams were driving in the 2nd quarter with a little over 2 minutes left in the half before an ill-advised pass by Bradford was intercepted by CB Leggett. The Rams defense was able to hold the Falcons out of the endzone however, as Neil Rackers kicked a 22 yard FG to make the score 7-3 Rams at half. On the Rams first drive after the half, disasted struck as a FS blitz caught Bradford flat-footed, as he was rocked by DeCoud, before William Moore scooped it up and took it to the house for a 62 yard fumble return, giving the Falcons their first lead 10-7. The Rams would answer right back on their ensuing drive, as Bradford would find FB Leonard Weaver for a 8 yard TD to give the Rams back the lead, 14-10. From that point on both offenses would stall, as the defenses really had their way today on both teams. The Rams were able to do just enough on defense to keep the Falcons from scoring again, and as the clock hit triple zeros, the Rams team celebrated their big win, and with the Vikings beating the Cowboys earlier, St Louis will host the NFC Championship game. Hopefully the home field advantage can push the Rams to their first Superbowl appearance. GG G_T_G
3's a trend Ravens and Bengals meet up again for 3rd time this year with similar results. Like every other game against these two division rivals this year was a thiller. The Difference maker was ray rice who averaged over 10 yds a carry and Ed Reed who forced 2 huge TO's.
