Fulham made their Serie A debut and it turned out to be a lackluster affair. LOSC Lille brought a top notch defensive game and both keepers made the saves that they are supposed to, as well as some beauties. Both clubs were plagued by poor shooting and only five shots made it on target all match.

Fulham has found the win column in it's first season in Serie A and it only took until the second match. Mark Schwarzer recorded his second clean sheet in as many matches and Fulham received tallies from Bobby Zamora and Dickson Etuhu. Zamora received his own rebound with the keeper still down and put it in with the outside of his right foot to give the Cottagers their first goal of the season. Late in the game, Etuhu buried a beauty to the top right corner that bounced in off of the crossbar from about 25 yards out (Unfortunately, Etuhu's strike did not make the video cut). Fulham will take on Everton in Goodison Park in the next match of their young season.

Due to a technical difficulty I unfortunately do not have any stats for this match...I was trying to upload my 2nd goal to EA Replay and my PS3 froze.

This game was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad that the only "shot on goal" was a freekick in the 80th minute that hit the wall.

It wasn't a great day for football as the snow was relentless, but nothing could spoil Bilbao's inaugural match in Serie A. A tightly contested match was broken open just before half with Llorente burying a cross by Koikili. Muniain was then able to put away a failed cross in the 60th minute which allowed Bilbao to settle down and concentrate on preserving Iraizoz' clean sheet.

Everton gets off to a good start with a great win agains Serie A new comers Fulham. They knew it wasnt going to be an easy game but were able to find the back of the net in only the 10th minute of play when Saha was able to beat his defender to the ball and slot in a rebound. After that, both teams would settle in and create some opportunities but both goalies were able to make some solid saves. In the 66th minute, some great passing resulted in a final pass from Saha to Arteta who found some space inside the box and placed a shot to the right corner and in.

Hamburg Opens Season With Draw Against Wolfsburg
In their first match since claiming the season 1 Serie A crown, Hamburg played German foes Wolfsburg. Each team had opportunities that they failed to capitalize upon early in the match, but finally in the 56th minute, Piotr Trochowski came through for Hamburg. Hamburg was attacking on the left side, as Trochowski had a step on his defenders to the right. He was fed a pass and sealed the 1-0 lead. But just 3 minutes laters, Wolfsburg was awarded a free kick in dangerous territory. With a perfect free kick in the corner of the goal, the score was knotted up at 1 a piece. Each team continued to have wonderful attempts, yet neither side could convert a second goal. Although Hamburg did not get the result they wanted, a draw against a talented Wolfsburg side is nothing to be ashamed of. Hamburg now has 2 games remaining this week, as the club has yet to play Lazio or Sunderland.

gg TdotMindset, I don't remember who kicked your FK goal (Diego maybe?) and I'm pretty sure Trochowski got mine. If you can confirm either one of those, that'd be great

Petric, Trochowksi Team Up To Give Hamburg First Win Of Season

Following a draw and a loss to open the week, Hamburg was still looking for their first win of the season entering matchday 3 against Sunderland. 22 minutes in, it looked as if this may go Hamburg's way. Mladen Petric was able to steal the ball away from a Sunderland defender, and after narrowly missing earlier, he adjusted this time around and sent in his first goal of the season. The Hamburg defense was able to squash any Sunderland attacks, but the 1-0 lead was not enough. Piotr Trochowski had in open attempt with 10 minutes remaining, but it hit off the post and failed to go in while traveling across the goal. But shortly thereafter in the 81st minute, Trochowski was able to put away his second goal of the season and put the game to rest. Last season's leading goalkeeper Frank Rost finished the match with a clean sheet, his first on the new season. Hamburg is now 1-1-1, but their schedule will not get any easier next week with matches against top-notch squads CSKA Moscow, LOSC Lille, and last season's Serie B champion Athletic Club.
